Life goes on.

Guess I had better catch up on what's been happening.

Nothing real exciting just living life as it is happening.
Sunday Nancy and Sherry took me out to eat for Father's Day.

We went to the Sioux City Steakhouse our dinner since Sherry and I both like their servings the best.

Nancy and I both had the Cowboy Cut Steak which is an 8 oz., baked potato, with Cole slaw.
Sherry had a Prime Rib, baked potato, and a salad and all three of us were very satisfied with our dinner.

We have several times through the years but this time I noticed the train over the bar that keeps going around and around.  I guess the steak was better to look at and eat.

We had a very large storm go through our area the other day had wind and a lot of rain.  Talking with some people it was the heaviest storm they have seen in a long time.
I could see the result of it the next morning as I did my walking.

Sherry and I are slowly cleaning out the motor home because with Nancy and my health issues. we will not be doing any long time camping anymore and we have not moved the motor home in two years so there is no need to keep paying the storage fee on it.
We enjoyed the 20 plus years we were full timers.

Sherry and I got a little to hot working on the motorhome so we stopped by the gulf waters as we headed home to cool off a bit.

Of course you can depend on the seagulls to put on a good show.

Here is one I happened to catch in flight.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Happy Fathers Day

I would like to wish all you fathers out there a very happy and a very pleasant day.

I didn't have many years with my father as he was killed in a mining accident one day after my 12th birthday.

Friday, I was at the cancer clinic to have my blood drawn to see how the pills were doing.
The doctor came in and said my numbers went from 106 up to 113, he said that was good but I had taken only three pills so I will be going in to have blood drawn for the next four Fridays.

That way he will see if the pills will be working as he hopes they will.

Thanks for stopping by and do have a great day.

Vicki's back home

Sherry and I took Vicki to the airport Wednesday to catch the plane to Lexington, Kentucky.
We all really hated to see her leave, but she thought it was time for her to be back home.

Vicki and Sherry had a great time visiting with one another and it been a long time since they were both together.

I always enjoy the scenery of the bay when we go to the airport and back.

Sherry and I saw the motorcycle riders enjoying the nice day.

I had a nice breeze as I did my walking this morning.

They have two bocce ball courts here in the park.

Today is the day I go back to the doctor to see if the pills are bringing up my platelet number.
I've only took three pills so I will not be disappointed if they are not up yet.

Thanks for stopping by and I wash you a great day.

Fourth day walking

I'm still trying to keep walking without skipping a day.   I know when you skip a day doing what you are trying to keep up with the next day seems a little easier to skip.

So it was up one street.

And down the other until I had walked a little of a mile for the fourth day in a roll.

Its nice to see how the residents have different ways of having their place a fixed up.

This one has three bench seats that look inviting, after a little walking.

Thanks for stopping by and do have a great day.

A little walking

My legs are still weak, so I decided in order for them to get stronger I would do a little walking.

So yesterday morning I woke up at 6:30 am and got ready.  It felt so good to be walking that I did it again this morning.

I walked the streets within the park and before I knew it, I had walked 1/2 mile and I still felt good.

And by the time I thought that was enough walking I had walked 1.1 mile.

My legs are still weak so its going to take a bit of time before they get stronger.

Thanks so stopping by and do have a great day.

Nitro pills?

Yesterday was the day I checked in to my doctor to see how my numbers were doing?

The doctor reported that the numbers were down, so they were not holding like they should.
He said I would not have to undergo any more Nitro trnsfusions at this time instead he was going to put me on Nitro pills for a week to see if that would bring the numbers up and hold them steady.

I'm to see the doctor next Friday for a result on taking the Nitro pills.

Thanks for stopping by and do have a great day.

I'm still here

 I've had a busy week.

With four or five days in the hospital taking the transfusions.

I've spent the last five days going back and forth to the cancer center for more trans fusions.

The good thing is my numbers are up from the 4000 which was when I entered the hospital to a high of 142000 as of Tuesday.

One of my daughters will drive me up to the entrance then I get out go to the desk and check in, have a seat wait to be called up.

Then its upstairs to have a seat in a recliner and wait to be connected to the IV for the next 3 1/2 to 4 hours for the transfusion.
There are about 50 people that are there also getting what they need with the IV.

The nurses and caregivers got to do their thing.

Tomorrow I will go in to talk to Dr. Dan to see how my numbers are and find out what the next set of plans are.

I have to say that I've felt better the last 3 days the in almost a year now.
I seem to have more energy but still somewhat weak, guess it will take time.

I got up this morning and had an omelet the I prepared consisting of egg, sausage, peppers, onions, toast with good Smucker's Jam and a good cup of coffee.

Thanks for stopping by and do have a great day.

Thoughts from the past few weeks

p Thought I would post some pictures of some of the food they had for the Patiences in the hospital these days.

Here we have a breakfast of scramble eggs, hash brown potatoes, muffin, thin slice of orange and a cup of coffee.  Breakfast always about the same they may change up the muffin and make it a blueberry every once in a while.

Lunch and dinner were a step up in the food.  Here we had, Salisbury steak and gravy, carrots, broccoli and mash potatoes.

I had a Classic Burger the last day I was there, but I was so anxious to get out I didn't get a picture.
The burger also came with fries and a drink.

Today is when I start my five days if transfusion's then we see what happens from.

Thanks for stopping by and do have a great day.

No fun at all

Yesterday was a trip down to the Cancer Center to see the Oncologist, to have blood drawn so they could see how the platelet count was.  not good it had gone from 43000 down to 21000.

So it was a couple of hours there were Dr. Dan explained what has to be done.
First, he called Walgreens Pharmacy for a prescription of Dexamethasone 4mg tablets, which I'm to take 10 tablets a day for the next 5 days.

Then I will undergo treatment of transfusions for 5 days to get my platelets up.

Thanks for stopping by and do have a great day!

Dangerously Low

Well, folks after spending five nights in the hospital I was released to come home.

And the reason was-----------
last Thursday my cardiologist wanted me to get some blood drawn that day so I went to his office to get the orders what to be done and he said it was important that have it.

So, Thursday evening around 8:30 pm out of the blue I get a call from him saying that I needed to go to the emergency at the hospital for a transfusion that my blood platelets were dangerously low.
After getting check by Xray, MRI and blood drawn that my platelet level was 4000.
Anyway, after being giving 4 bags of steroids, it was up to 43000 which is still low.

I have and appointment with the Oncologist tomorrow to see how I'm doing because they have no idea why my platelets are so low.

We have our oldest daughter Vicki with us now to help Nancy with the housework and driving for me.

Goings on

Yeah, lots been going on here with our kids coming in to visit.

First was Sherry coming down for a few months to help us out with the things needing to be done.
Like all the things that Nancy was having a hard time with, house cleaning, washing dishes, and doing the laundry, She also did most of the driving for me.

But then it was time for her to return home to West Virginia.  Here she is driving to the airport, because our son Joe and his wife Mishell came down from Dandridge, Tennessee to take over for Sherry.
They were down a few days before Sherry left for home.

April the 30th was my 85th birthday, Joe grilled me a most delicious ribeye steak that ranks up there with the best of them.

Man did he and Mishell put in the hard work. the bush by the side porch trimmed, as well as the overgrown, rubber tree was cut out completely.
Joe then with me doing the well mostly watching repaired the flooring in the quest bedroom.

Joe and I did get sometime going down to the John Chestnut Park which we enjoy very much.

Joe was glad to see some baby alligators plus some larger ones.

Beautiful bright colored cardinal bird.

Here is a redhead woodpecker doing its thing.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
