Doctor and other things

Nancy had her appointment Tuesday for the follow up on the surgery she had Monday morning to check and see how her eye was doing. Even though she has been complaining how it was hurting more than the left eye she had done a week ago the doctor assured her it was fine.

With Nancy's appointment being 1:45 pm by the time she was through with seeing the doctor and going through some test it was time for us to eat.  Nancy has been wanting pork chops for a couple of days so we went to Frank's Dinner that is located just across the road from the park were we are staying.  We usually enjoy the food that we have had at Frank's but this time both of us thought the pork chops didn't have much taste.  It may be do to the fact that the pork chops were cut mighty thin.

I cleaned up my grill so I could grill us some good tasting pork chops that I bought yesterday.
But yesterday we had spare ribs that were already baked to eat that were on sale at Win Dixie for $10.00 for a whole slab.
When the weather gets warm in Florida you will see all the different types of rides come out as this type of motor bike.
Of course the old time favorite Dune Buggy.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Another Cataract Surgery

Yesterday we has to get up early because Nancy was scheduled to have the right eye for cataract surgery. First they checked her left eye to see how it was progressing.  Nancy was very pleased in that she was able to read the eye chart two lines smaller then she could a week ago.

The surgery would last at least a couple of hours so I was off to Burger King with a coupon to buy me a sausage biscuit for .50 cents.  I got the sausage biscuit to go and headed home where I had some fresh coffee to go with it which tasted very good.  Aft
er eating and doing a few things it was time to pick up Nancy.

After bring Nancy back home and settled down I took some bed sheets down to the laundry room to wash and dry.  When I brought the clean bed sheets home folded and put them away I was ready for a short rest.

Around 3:00 pm Nancy said she was getting hungry so I told her I would go out and get us a bite to eat.  On the way I stopped at the roadside market for tomatoes at .69 cents a pound a few bananas for .27 cents a pound and a couple of Hot peppers.  Then it was a stop in Publix for a container of ham salad. The last stop was Little Caesar's Pizza.

After eating, watching a little tv, catching up on our evening computing we called it a day.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

New Computer

Sorry I have not posted in a while but with Nancy having her eye surgery and both of us having doctor appointments things have been kind of off kilter.
But the main reason it that my old Toshiba Computer finally after ten years bit the dust "bless its old hard drive".
Now I've got a new Dell Laptop that I know isn't the best, but I bought it because it had the best sounding speakers that are loud enough for these old ears of mine.  It is taking time to get use to with new and different keys and programs on it that I will have to change and customize to suit me.

Anyway Nancy went  back to see the opthamologist Monday to see how her eye was doing at first he thought that something was wrong with the way she was seeing the eye chart but after remembering she had the stratch and the astigmatisim in her eye everything was ok. She is going to have the other eye done tomorrow.

I went to the Cardiologist Thursday and he told me that everything looked good so I will see him in December when we get back for the winter.

Nancy and I both saw our Family Doctor Friday and everything was good for the both of us. We also got our prescriptions to last us until we get back.

Of course I have been watching m basketball games.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Eye Surgery

Today started with a temperature of 48* which was a very good sleeping night, todays temperature is a high of 77* and the wind we have been having since we have been here for the winter.

I have a long rest now the games have stopped after finishing up Sunday and will not resume until Thursday.

Nancy had the cataract surgery yesterday and everything went very well.  In fact you might say she is over joyed.  In the evening time yesterday she took the patch off of her eye and she was able to read the small print on several different things with out her glasses and she says with a smile "I can see that".  We are so thankful that she is doing good with her eye that they did the surgery on.
Nancy has to go back today for a follow up and see when the surgery will be on the other eye.

I did a little work after coming back home with Nancy in that I finally connected up the two batteries to the motorhome to make a set of four and they seem to be doing good.  I still have to do some more to complete the installation and double checking things.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Their gone

Our Daughter Vicki and her daughter Rebekah went to Tampa to go through the old Tampa Hotel.
Vicki has been through it a couple of years ago when she came to visit us Nancy and I was with her that time.  She was wanting Rebekah to see it and look at all the old things that were there from the old time period when the Hotel was in its hay day.
Nancy and I decided to sit this one out as Nancy was still tired from our running around Tuesday.
I also wanted to watch the March Madness Games that were on.

Vicki and Rebekah were up way to early this morning getting ready to go back to Lexington since they are planning on driving straight through to get home sometime tonight.
We told her to call us several time today to let us know that she is alright.
We have certainly have enjoyed Vicki and Rebekah being here and as always the time is very short when they and anyone comes to visit us.

Today I will be watching the basketball games all day long as I have the past couple of days.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Homosassa Springs Wild Life Park

Tuesday Vicki wanted to go to the Homosassa Wild Life Park. She was there a few years back and wanted see it again so that's where we went.
When you go in the visitor's center you get your ticket to board the boat to get to the Wild Life Park.
This is a nice twenty minute ride on the river where you see the different birds, trees, turtles and maybe an alligator or two.
If you don't see an alligator in the river don't worry you can see a bunch of them in their den at the park after getting off the boat.
We saw the river otters swimming and playing also coming out and having a bite to eat. We spend some time watching and enjoying them.
Next in line were the white tail deer which we like to see but we like to see them out in the wild rather than caged up.  All these animals are here because they have been hurt or here since they we very young and will not be released back out in the wild.
Here is the Florida Panther it is for sure a large cat with such large paws.
We got to the bird cage at feeding time you can see this one has a small fish in its beak.

There are several different owls this one with ears you can't see.
Then this one with the ears sticking up.  They do look like wise old owls.
Nancy liked this two birds best of all the birds we saw.
Here is a red fox where the sign in front of the den says there are not many of these in Florida.

We had a very good time in the park and after getting out it was time to eat.
So I stopping in Spring Hill where we went to the Mariner Restaurant to eat.  Nancy and I like to go here when we are in the area because it is a Family run restaurant with goof food and good prices.

Folks its cold in sunny Florida.  This morning when we got up it was brrrr 29* that is too cold for us.

I don't know what the plans are for today I guess its another one of those "we will just let it happen days.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Pine Island

Yesterday our daughter Vicki and her daughter Rebekah came down from Lexington Kentucky to visit us for a few days so we will probably be busy or not.
They like to stay on the go when they visit.
Nancy and I have not been in that vacation mode for years and since we are retired we just take our time doing things.
We did got up to Pine Island Park with then yesterday day evening.
This is a nice small park where a lot of people go and enjoy the Gulf water.
Here are Vicki and Rebekah enjoy wading in the water.
The tide brings in a lot of sea weed onto the beach.
On the way back home I stopped at a small fishing park where they have a long board walk for the people to fish from.
We didn't fish but enjoyed walking along the fishing pier.
An egret would like to have a fish for sure.

From there I drove to the Sunwest Beach Park so the could check it out and maybe go while they are here. This park is less than a mile from the where we are staying in our motorhome.

It is nice to have Vicki and Rebekah visiting with us again.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Basketball & other things.

The temperatures for the week have been in the low 80's for day time and in the 60's for night time.
Now the will change this coming week with a cold front moving end we will have a few days in the 60's and low 70's.

Yesterday morning I took a couple of loads of clothes to the parks laundry room to do before I got started watching the Basketball Games.
Watch them I did from 1:00pm until late in the night.  I did take the time to eat a couple of times and take the trash to the dumpster.
I even vacuum the house and shake out all the throw rugs so its like I did do other things than watch basketball.
Today will be watching the basketball games again but not as many as the last few days.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

More Basketball

I've been really enjoying the basketball games in the different conferences the last few days with the upsets and the last second winning shots.
There are more exciting conference games coming in the next three days before the teams start The Big Dance to the NCAA College Championship.

I had to take Nancy back down to the Suncoast Eye Center for her final eye exam before they do the eye surgery.  Today's exam they discovered that her Eye Stigmatism is worse than what they thought it was on the first exam.
So changes are she will still have to wear glasses after the Cataract Surgery.

Its beginning to look like spring time with things blooming out around the area.
Even the Azalea's are in bloom .

Today will be the same as the couple of days before with going to the store and watching the basketball games.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Messing Around

Nancy and I had seen the commercial about the new Smoke House Pizza from Little Caesar's so we thought we would try it out to see how good it would be.
The Smoke House Pizza tasted good but both of us still like the Pepperoni Pizza better.
After eating the new type pizza I woke up in the middle of the night with a terrible heart burn and thought to myself I would not be eating anymore Smoke House Pizza.

Nancy and I both like Ham Salad for sandwiches so I got some from Publix on the way back when I bought the pizza, I should have had a ham salad sandwich instead of eating the pizza.

I've been buying the things to connect up my two new batteries but couldn't find the copper lugs to put on the wires so I bought copper tubing to make my own.  I've did this in the past and it has worked good for me.
Being a machinist and welder in the past years when I can't find what I need I just make it if possible.
Like yesterday I opened one of my bay doors and the latch on it broke like some of them have in the past I took it apart.  The trigger that releases the door was broken. It is made of cheap white metal so I make me new ones out of flat aluminum which last a lot longer.  It does take time with a hack saw and file to get the shape made up to install.

I don't usually like to make long range plans but I have plans for the next few weeks and that is to watch all the March Madness Basketball Games.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

A good basketball day

Friday I went back up to Spring Hill and back to Rural King to have a better look around Nancy stayed home this time.  When I left the house she told me to take my time, I could tell she was still tired from the day before.
I walked around the store up and down the rolls of things that they had and saw some things that I had missed from the day before.  I didn't buy anything but enjoyed seeing all the stuff that they had so now if I need a certain item I know where to go to buy it.

Then it was to Walmart which was the reason I came back up to Spring Hill.
The other day I saw some of their 12 volt batteries that were on sale that would be a nice addition for the house batteries to the motorhome.  We have always got by on two batteries but I thought four would make it nicer to have.  I know the Walmart batteries are not the best for a motorhome but their brand has served me good through the years.

I went to Burger King (with coupons) and got 2 Whopper Jr. sandwiches  with 2 small French fries for $3.99 for our lunch.  Now that price to fee two people is hard to beat and it was more than enough for us.

Saturday was another big College Basketball Game day for me and I really enjoyed the day.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Out for the day

Nancy and I got out for the first time in a long time for her.

We drove up to Spring Hill to the Rural King to get a few things I wanted.
One of the items I bought was a Infrared Thermometer with Laser Targeting.  This is one of those things you would not use very often but nice to have for a few things to check with.
I also bought a pint of white paint for some place that need touching up.
Then what made it nice was that Harbor Freight was right across the street where I bought some bungee cords for 20% less with coupons.

Also don't forget the Multimeter that was on sale for $5.99 but I got it free with a coupon for purchasing any other item.
I really didn't need a Multimeter as I have several but free is better than buying batteries for one.

Then a stop in at the Dollar Tree to get a few things.
Then a stop to get a good meal at the Cracker Barrel.  Its been many a months since we have eaten a meal at a Cracker Barrel.

By that time Nancy was ready to do her shopping at Walmart for some things she needed.

After all that it was time to go home and Nancy was really dragging but she said it was good to get out for the day.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Eyes

Nancy's eye appointment at the Suncoast Eye Center was at 1:00pm but they wanted her there early to fill out some papers.
So we arrived 12:330pm to fill out pages and pages of her medical history and the medicine she takes.  For some reason it seems as though each page it's the same thing with that you have to put your address, date of birth, your phone number and sign your name at the bottom.

After going into three different rooms and doing different test on her eyes they came to what was going on with Nancy's eyes.
She has Cataract's 0n both eyes also both of the Cornea's have a scare on them.
So Nancy is scheduled for March 20 to have her eye's worked on to have better sight. They will do one eye then in a couple of week's do the other one.

We were going to leave here the last of March for the summer but now it will be the last of April that will be ok though we are used to changing our plans.  We make our plans very loosely in case we do have to change them then we are not disappointed if we have to change them.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
