Whats been happening

The big news is I'm finally finished with getting my eyes checked.  The doc said everything looks ok I can go ahead and have new glasses made.
I ask him if there was much of a change since the last time I've had glasses made, he said immensely.
So when they gave me the results to get my glasses made it shows I now have 20/30 vision in both eyes.  Of course I still have the  astigmatism in the left eye.
I went ahead and had them order me new glasses, so it will be 10 t0 15 days until the new glasses come in so we will be here for that long or maybe a little longer.

That still depends on what is happening on the virus thing going on with the lock-downs.

We have mandatory face mask on when out in public.  I went to Walmart the other day and everyone that was inside were wearing their masks.
Our banks are only open with the drive through, unless you get an appointment to go inside.

Happy Fathers Day

First thing to all you guys I want to wish you a Happy Fathers Day.

I hope you have more happy years then I did with mine.   My father was killed in a mining accident one day after my 12th birthday.  So cherish each day with your father and also with your mother.

Yesterday  I started my day getting up and out the day around 6:30 am to get busy washing the motor home before the sun came up.
After finishing with the motor home and resting a little while the it was time to take up the scatter rug to take outside and shake them out good.
I swept the floor then put a wet Swiffer pad to go over the floor to give it a shine.

The pool here in the park has opened but only on a limited basis with the number of people in at a time.

Here is the nice pool we have here but at this time in the morning no one is in yet.
I would say it will be full today as the temp is suppose to be 93 and the feel like temperature will be 101.

I grilled a couple of ribeye steaks yesterday with onions and peppers, it sure tasted good.
Nancy added a salad and baked potato to make for a full meal.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Catching up on things

I've been a little busy catching up on some maintenance on the motor home and car.

Monday it was crawling under the motor home to grease the chassis and drive shaft.  Also changing the oil and the oil filter.  All this is not as easy as it was a few years back, it must be all the heat.

Next yesterday it was the car that also needed the oil change and new filter.
I have been doing all the changing of the oil and filters since I was a teen ager.

There was a time a few years back the I took my car in to get an oil change and grease job.
Getting back home I looked at the papers at what the did with the car-tires checked, all fluids checked and so on.
When it came to the greasing part it said "no grease plugs" ut oh, it does have two grease plugs.
That is why I do it myself, I know all is right when it is finished.

Since last posted the laundry has been caught up, the scatter rug taken outside to be shook out of the sand, the floor swept and gone over with a wet Swiffer pad.

Nancy has been having a rough time with all the pain in her neck and back plus I think all the covid-19 and all the other things in the world going on now has her down, like it has a lot of people.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Old tires

Just a couple of more runs to the Walmart, Winn Dixie for groceries. and the Walgreens for refills on our prescriptions.

Yesterday I did go to George's Tire Service to check on tires for the motor home.  The four back tires need replacing due to the age of them.
I know they have really been on twice as long as they should have, but with them looking still like new ones I've left them on.
Actually the tires are one year older than I thought upon checking the date I had them put on was back in March of 2009.
They were some of those China "Bombs" that some people throw off on.  With the ones that lasted that long that I've had, the same brand will go on again.

After getting back home and close to supper I set up the grill again to grill some sirloin steak tips, onions and peppers.

This is what it looks like on a bed of rice.
I always forget to take a photo when the things are on the grill because I get in a hurry to get it all finished
Anyway it really tasted good on the chicken flavored rice with home made slaw that we had left over from a couple of days ago.
It still seems odd that I can eat steak because its less expensive than ground beef.

Its a changing world that we live in.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

So much rain.

Even though it looks like it might clear up with this little bit of blue, that was it for the day.
Still more rain to come today, they say it is due to the storm in the gulf that is headed up through Louisiana and up through the mid west states.

We were under a tornado watch for three hours yesterday, but nothing in our area happened except more rain.  A little flooding is going on just the south of us but so far all we have is rain and more rain.

I did need to go to the store and get a few things.  Oh my, how the price of ground beef has gone up in the last few days.  What was $3.88 a pound is now $5.79 a pound, that is a big jump in price.

Well it just started raining much more and according to the weather report it will be all day long.
I really like a sunny day so much better, but then I guess I would be complaining about the heat.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

The waiting game

The right eye is still a little bruised up from the surgery.  I have no idea why the left eye went good while the right eye looked like I was in a battle of some kind, but I was told the sometimes it happens.

The temperatures have been in the 90's for the last couple of days with the forecast of rain that has moved into the area at times. We've even had some thunderstorms along the way.

Of course there are more nice days that you can get out to enjoy the day and smell the flowers.
As long as you make sure the are no bees to sting your nose.

I even got the chance to grill up two nice and tender cube steaks.  I was surprised how tender they were.

I found this photo still in the camera of one of the houses out in the swamps of the back waters of the gulf.  These houses are old and people used to live in them and still yet sometimes they do for short time fishing.

We still have no idea how long we will be staying here as I have an appointment with the  ophthalmologist June, 26.  Then if everything is ok I will have them order new glasses.
So it looks like sometimes in July we will be leaving,  maybe.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
