Nice day out

Now that the college basketball season is under way I'm enjoying the games almost all week long.
Of course we have to do the laundry and since there are eight washers and ten dryers and it is within walking distance of our site I can walk to the laundry room.  I usually take a couple of loads a week and when Nancy feels like it she goes along for doing a load.  It has been much more easy doing here in the park than going to a Laundromat in town.
I think we are caught up with our doctor appointments for a few months and hopefully nothing will come up that we will have to go in the mean time.
Yesterday evening we got a chance to go out for supper and we went to Sioux City Steakhouse.  I've been wanting a good steak for a while and the one that I got was as near perfect as I've had from a restaurant in some time. It was a top sirloin medium well  with fries and slaw. Nancy had a steak kabob with baked beans and slaw, she said hers was good.
We then went to the new Home Shopping Network Outlet to see what sales they had. They had some returned items and some new things that were no longer for sale on the television at a reduced price and the older it was the more % off you get.
Nancy has been wanting some cherry pie so on the way back home I stopped at the Winn Dixie and got a pie which we had with a cup of coffee.
Finishing the pie and coffee then being on the computer for a while it was then time for a college basketball game for me which closed out a nice day for us.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Left overs and ball games

Nancy and I had our little dinner of Ham, green beans, sweet potatoes, deviled eggs, onion and a roll.
So yesterday and today it was eating left overs.
Along with the left overs Friday I watch college basket and today it was watching college football.
Nancy wasn't getting many channels with our house top antenna so I ordered  the Lava HD 2605 Antenna.  The reviews were good and the distance that was reported was one person said he received a station 202 miles from his house.
This morning I checked the station I was receiving from Hudson, Florida I got as far as Tallahassee and Savannah, Georgia.  Unbelievable isn't it?

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Happy Thanksgiving

I would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. May you and yours have the health and strength that you need.
Nancy and I will not be going to the club house dinner today we will be having our little dinner here in the motorhome where we can relax and do our computing and watching the tv.
No sooner that I start getting healthy that Nancy had to go to the doctor yesterday.
She came down with the allergy of the something she had in the last of June where she woke up yesterday with her face beginning to swell up. It was not anywhere like the last time and the doctor gave her the same medicine as the other one gave her so she is better today.
We will not be going to any Black Friday sales as I tried it one and last time in my life.
The last time I went there was a lot of hit and run with the shopping carts.
I bought a piece of electronic equipment and then it was on sale for a couple of weeks at the same price.  So whats the use of loosing the good morning sleep.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Cold this morning

Saturday I took a new prescription to Walgreen to have filled it was a prescription for another pill to thin my blood.  My blood pressure went up when I was having my problem over the week end and has not gone down to where it is suppose to be.
Then it was to Winn Dixie to get a few groceries for our Thanksgiving Dinner.

After that it was time to settle in and watch my college football games.
We had a very cool night and upon getting up this morning the temperature was a cold 37*.
Now don't tell me how cold it was where you are this is Florida and it is not suppose to be that cold.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Hospital stay

Well what a few past days I've had.
Thursday morning when I went to the bathroom I knew I had to see a doctor so I went to the Walk in Clinic and when I saw the doctor what was going on he said that didn't look good.
He told me to go to the Bay Port Hospital that they had a room waiting for me and they knew of my problem.
A doctor  Joseph Staffetti MD a specialist in Gastroenterology came into my room that evening and had a talk with me and said I needed a colonoscopy to see what was going on.
So they had me scheduled for Friday at 2:00pm  at 15 after they said it will be 3:00as they were running late isn't the doctors always running late?  Well it was 4:15 when they came for me to wheel me to the operating room.  It was good news in the all they had to do was to cut out the  hemorrhoids and a couple of  Diverticulitis pockets.
They called me a taxi at 7:00pm they would not let me drive my own car.  The good part was when I was going to pay the taxi driver the $41.00 showing on the meter the driver said it would be the hospital that would be paying for it.  Well today it was my turn to pay the way back to get my car. I thought why not take the bus that would take me with one exchange right to the hospital.
So with my fare totaling $1.50 for the two buses and two hour of my time was ok with me. I would travel on a bus all day for $20.00 an hour.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Dupree Gardens

Nancy and I took a short drive out Friday to check out some free campgrounds that I has seen on a internet site.  On the way I noticed a roadside sign and I stopped to check it out.
It was a place where an old Florida attraction used to be in the early 1940's.  You can read about it from the photo I took.
This is all that remains of the gate house.
This says Dupree Lakes.
The lake looked small to have had glass bottom boats on it.  Perhaps the lake was filled in some what when they decided to build housing on the land.
Saturday started out good in that Nancy prepared country ham and biscuits with my eggs for breakfast. I mixed an orange mine sweet pepper for taste and the color to the eggs and also some diced onion, that with tomato made for a good tasting breakfast.
Of course later afternoon I watched a couple of college football games and boy were they a few upsets.
Yesterday I got the old grill out to grill us a couple of T-Bone steaks. I don't usually buy this type of steak but Winn Dixie had a two  day special price of $4.99 a pound with their card so with it being the same price as the ground beef I took the steak. The steaks were thick and 2.63 pounds for the two so it was good tasting and more that enough to satisfy us.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Around the park

Friday Nancy and I did another load of laundry.
We had the laundry room all to ourselves but later on a couple of more people came in.
The pool is located just out the side door of the laundry room.
The shuffle board is also there beside the pool with a fence separating the two.
Saturday I watched a few of the college football games and more of a little more cleaning.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

A full day

Yesterday was a busy day for Nancy and I as we did a couple of loads of laundry.
I also gave the front wood work a good coating of Pledge to make it shine and look much better.
We went to Walmart to get a few things that we needed.  From Walmart we then went to Wendy's to eat Nancy had the Homestyle Chicken sandwich and I had the 4 for $4.00.  I also bought a coupon book which had 5 coupons for Frosty jr's for a $1.00.  After eating our sandwiches we each had a Chocolate Frosty using the coupon's.
After getting back home I put in the new bathroom screen that had come in from Amazon earlier in the day.
I've been asked which screen I installed so here it is.

With all that finished up we called it a day with relaxing doing our computer things and watching the television.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Being busy

I've been a little busy after getting here and trying to get settled in for the winter.
When I was letting the levelers down I noticed they were not doing just right so I went out to see what was going on.  Looking under the motorhome I saw right away the problem.  The levers where sinking down in the soft sand so I had to raise them up and put some 4x4 blocks of wood underneath the levelers. Even then the wood sunk down until they hit solid before the motorhome started leveling out.
As I was doing more of the small stuff Thursday and Friday I took a load of clothes each day to the laundry to wash and dry.  Our site is close enough where we can come back to the motorhome while they are washing and drying.
Yesterday was a run around day for me. First I went to Walgreen to pick up part of our medicine.
From Walgreen it was to the roadside market which I was glad to get back to because of the lower and fresh produce they have.
Leaving the market I then stopped at the Raceway fuel station to fill up at $2.05 a gallon.
Then a stop at the Dollar General store to get a few thing that was on sale.
The next and last stop was Winn Dixie to get some chicken wings and a store special of spaghetti for two at the price of $5.99 and few other groceries.
The rest of my day was watching the college football games.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Winter Paradise RV Resort

Monday we got up had our breakfast of egg biscuit for the both of us did a little on our computers then it was time to start the day.
After taking our medicine I was the first one to get ready then Nancy.  I hooked the car to the motorhome and few other things that I could while Nancy was getting ready.
After she could do without the water and the electric I shut off the water first and rolled up the water hoses and then it was the electric cords.
After thanking Justin the owner for letting us stay and getting electric and water for us even though he didn't have an open site we were on our way.
After pulling out of exit 29 onto I-75 traveling only 18 miles we got off at exit 11 to go to the Wilco Hess station to the free dump to empty the tanks and fill up with gas at the price of $1.99 a gallon.
Then back on I-75 until 3:30 where we stopped at a rest area to have our dinner.
Nancy warmed up our two spaghetti dinners which I had bought from Fazoli's on Sunday and boy did it taste good.  After eating the spaghetti we had some ice cream and then we were ready to get on the road again.
I drove all the way to the Walmart in Hudson where we spend the night because I wanted to check into the campground the first of the month and also not late in the day.
Yesterday was a tiresome day were I checked into the campground finding the site that we are to stay on for the winter season.
After backing into the site I connected the electric so we could have the a/c running to cool us off.
Then the maintenance man came to see if everything was ok and showed me the sewer hookup which was under a cinder block at the back of the motorhome.
After resting up a bit Nancy asked what we were going to eat I told here we would go out for supper at Frank's Diner that is across the road from our campground. Not wanting to walk across three lanes of traffic going north and a wide median then another three lane road going south we took the car.
This was our first time to eat at Frank's Diner and looking at the reviews it looked like a good place.
I took the special of all the fish, fries and slaw for $7.99 and the first plate was more than I could eat with two very large pieces of fish.
Nancy had chicken tenders, broccoli and slaw she said hers was good also and we both brought home what we couldn't finish for another meal at home.
After getting home I set up our patio awning and set out our lounge chairs.
The rest of the evening was spent for much needed rest time.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
