Rain,Rain

I really don't like to get out to go to the stores on Friday evenings or Saturdays.

As you can tell from the above photos yesterday was not a good day to be out. It was some of the  hardest rain we have had this season.  The reason I don't want to go to the store on weekends is the work people crowds.  I try to let them have the stores because I have the other days to go.  But with all the rain yesterday I didn't have much of a crowd to contend with.  There was a threat of a tornado for the day.  No tornado but had heavy winds that brought a few trees down.
Of course in the evening time I spent watching the two games of the NCAA Tournament.
Nancy is about the same way of feeling tired most of the time and she is getting tired of that feeling.
Nancy's sister Jackie and Chris her daughter are coming down from Kentucky to spend the week,so that may perk her up.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Not much

Some of Nancy's wounds are slow to heal, but they are healing.  In between the rain and very cool weather she is walking in the park even though it is for short distances. She can tell she is getting better and wishes it would be quicker.

Well folks it is coming upon the weekend and the NCAA resumes this evening with the Sweet Sixteen getting under way. Being the college basketball fan that I am means I will again be watching all of it I can.

The only special thing that's been happening this week is our children are calling or texting to see how we are doing. That is very special to us when they check on us.

Someone tell me what's up with the gas pricing?  It went up another ten cents a gallon yesterday, up $3.55 for regular.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Roadside stand

We were out of vegetables in our bins so yesterday I went to the roadside stand to pick up some.
I like to shop these small stands.

The vegetables and fruit seem to be more fresh than what is in the grocery stores.
They have bins full of it outside and inside the small store. their prices are better than the big box stores also. When we are traveling I make it a point to stop at these roadside stands. That's one of the advantages of traveling the two lane roads. You miss a lot when you travel the interstate highways.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Doing better.

I'm still busy but in a relaxing way.  I'm enjoying all the NCAA Tournament action.  There have been many upsets and that suits me just fine thank you.  I nearly always root for the underdog and this tournament has had a lot of them winning.
Nancy is getting stronger each day, but still has a long way to go. Her back still hurts her and she is still very week.  It will take some months before she is better and begins to feel her old self.
She is doing her exercising and walks around the short block in the park. By the time she gets back she falls in her easy chair from being exhausted.
Thanks for stopping by and have yourself a great day.

One busy day

Things have been slow around here. That is until yesterday. Man I didn't think I would get back home after I went to get a few things done.
First it was to Sweetbay to get a loaf of Merita bread. This is good bread that taste so fresh, Then it was to the post office to mail a package of some things Vicki and Bekah had forgot when they were here. From there it was to Walmart to get our medicine that was called in the day before. The Walmart here most of the time does not have it ready when they say they will and this time was it was not either. They had half of Nancy's and had no record of mine. After getting a few groceries off it was to the Save A Lot store. Then the next stop was to Sam's Club to fuel up the car and on in to Sam's to get a couple of things.
After getting back to the house, unloading the groceries I took my medicine bottles to Walgreens to get them transferred from Walmart to have them filled. I have been wanting to change from the Walmart Pharmacy for some time now and after yesterday I just had enough to do it.
By the time I did all that and had supper over it was time to settle in and enjoy the start of the NCAA Basketball Tournament,
Whew, that even wore me out typing it.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

To the airport

Yesterday was a long day. Vicki, Bekah and I left for the airport at 3:15am.  Yes that's right it was that early.  That is only a few hours after Nancy and I usually go to sleep.  So yesterday I watched the basketball games and every now and then I would doze off to sleep.
So I hope I can keep my eyes open today so I can watch my games.
Nancy is doing better and they told her she can do things a little at a time, but not overdue it.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Another good day.

Yesterday we were not as busy as we have been.  Vicki, Rebekah and I did go down to Safety Harbor to the Quality Sausage House to buy some of the fresh meats that they have. Vicki enjoyed looking at the Hungarian cans and jars of the different items they had. Vicki and I both bought a few things.

We then went to two different parks so I could show them where Nancy and I do some walking.
We did spend three hours or so before coming home.  It was another good day with Vicki and Rebekah. We were glad that they could come down for the week.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Day of sightseeing

Yesterday was another day of sightseeing.  We went down to Sarasota to see what the late circus tycoon had to offer.
First was the art gallery.
With a grand piano.
A nice large fireplace.
Many rooms with many paintings hanging on the walls.
The large court yard.
Then it was to the circus museum with a lot of the old wagons.
The truck with the cannon that shot out the human cannonball.
Next was the house.  Maybe mansion would be a better word.
Breakfast table.
Back patio overlooking the bay.
It was another good day with Vicki and Bekah. We will have to wake up early in the morning so we can be at the airport by 5:00am so the can get checked in and aboard the plane to Lexington, Kentucky.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Good Day

Well I picked up Vicki and Bekah at the airport.  They didn't want to come straight back to the house. They said as long as we are this close we want to see The Sunken Gardens. So off we went on south for eight miles or so.
Then we arrived at our distination.

It was a nice couple of hours walking and seeing the different flowers and the ponds with the waterfalls
Even had a couple of Flamingo's.
It was a very nice day.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Off to the airport

Today will be a long day for me. I've got to be at the St. Pete Clearwater airport to pick up our daughter Vicki and granddaughter Bekah at 11:15am. From there they want to visit the Sunken Gardens before coming back to the house. I'm sure I will enjoy this but not sure if my old knees will.
They will be staying for the week.
So I have a few things to do before I go.
That's all for now folks.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Moving ahead.

Nancy got the staples removed from her back with only a couple of them pinching when coming out.  The doctor said for her to call and make an appointment when she feels it necessary. After seeing the doctor she had to stay a while longer so the guy in charge of the stimulator in her back should fine tune the how the stimulators were reacting. After he set it to the right spots in her back hips and legs we were ready to go.
By that time it was time for us to eat so we stopped at the Cracker Barrel. We also had a stop at the Walmart where I went in for a couple of things while Nancy waited in the car.
We thought we would be late for the therapist but she was running late and didn't get there until 5:30.
Nancy has three more appointments with the therapist and nurse then she will be on her own. Of course I will have to do the changing of the dressing on her back and also go through the exercises with her.  If everything goes as it is suppose to she will be good to do things in six weeks. Although she is not to do any heavy lifting for a longer period of time.
The good news is that the stimulator is helping with the pain she had.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Spine Clinic

Still not a bunch going on. The weather continues to flip-flop. It is now on the cool side with the temperature close to 70 degrees today.
Today is the day that Nancy has to go to the spine clinic to have the staples remove from her wound.  I think she is a little nervous about that. The wound looks like it is healing up good and I didn't see any sign of infection.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Making Progress

That's right Nancy is making some progress, although she is quite sore and in pain.
The Nurse and  therapist is coming out to see her every other day or so. In the days that they don't come out I am being the nurse and therapist. Those duties plus being the cook, dish washer, house cleaner and doing the laundry keeps this old guy pretty busy.
Well tomorrow I will take a break from doing the cooking since Wednesday is our usual pizza day--YEAA.  It will be a Little Caesar's Hot and Ready pepperoni pizza.
That's all for now, got to go and get busy.

Thanks for stopping by and have yourself a great day.

Nancy's schedule

Nancy will be having home health care for the coming weeks until she is doing better.
Thursday a nurse came out to ask a load of questions and to inspect the wound to see if there was any sign of infection. She also took all her vital signs. After three hours of this and asking Nancy if she had any questions she was gone.
Yesterday the therapist was here to go thru the walking and stretching exercises with her. Also telling her the correct way to stand up and sit. All the things to do without injuring herself. That lasted only a couple of hours but enough time to wear Nancy down to where she was exhausted.  With all the extra activity for the day by evening time she was having extra pain in her body.

The weather has been cooler the last two mornings and will be a little below normal temperatures for this part of Florida. Next week will be warmer and near normal temperatures.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
