62 years

Yeah, 62 years is a long time, but these years have passed fast.

Today is Nancy and my Anniversary of marriage.  To think at that time people said we were too young and that it would not work.  I guess after this many years it is safe to say they were wrong.

We didn't have a large fancy wedding.   Our wedding day consisted of going down to the county court house, looking up the county court clerk who performed the marriage.  We had one person that was Nancy's brother in law as a witness.  After the clerk married us I gave him $5.00 and that was it.
I will have to say that was the best $5,00 I have ever spent.

Our New Year Eve celebration will be the same it has been through the years with a quite time staying home just the two of us.

I wish all of you a very healthy and Happy New Year to you and yours.

Thank all of your for being here through the years with me for without you there would be no blog.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Long day

Nancy felt like getting out yesterday she needed a haircut so I think that was the reason.

So she went to Great Clips up in Spring Hill.  I sat in the car until she was finished with her haircut.
Then from there we went to Cracker Barrel to eat and used the gift card that we received for Christmas.  Of course we chose to eat breakfast as we do most of the time.

Then I dropped Nancy off at Walmart while I went to check on a few items at Harbor Freight with no luck in finding anything.
From there I went across the street to Rural King to by the brand of potato chips that they sale.

I guess I took longer than I thought because after getting back to Walmart Nancy had all of her shopping only for a few more items.  And the poor lady was really tired and ready to go back home.
By the time we did get home, unloaded the things she bought it was in the dark of day.

After putting everything away it was time to fall into our usual routine of watching tv and our evening computer time.

Today I will watch a couple of basketball games folowed by a couple of football games.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Merry Christmas To All

Yes, to all my blog reader's a very Merry Christmas to you and your love ones.
I'm so glad you took the time to visit my.

Nothing new on this end, we will spend a quiet and relaxing day around the house.
It seems as though we are doing more and more times like this.  We are at the age now that we can remember when we were young we always wondered why the old people had to sit around most of the time.

Nancy is going to put together a nice beef stew in the Instant Pot today for us to eat.
I will enjoy eating that and watching tv and napping.

I will not be doing anything in the house until the holidays are over.  With having to move things out in the middle of the floor and leaving them a few days until the space is finished would be hard to get round.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

All in a day

Sorry folks but when I say things are going slow I mean like real slow.  Nancy and I both expected this project would be on the slow side and I told her it might take the winter season until its finished.

So, in the mean time to the rest of the story is going to the store, checking mail, taking out garbage to the dumpsters and all the rest of the normal things in life.

I made a trip up to Rural King which is in Spring Hill to buy some of their of potato chips, but would you know it?  You guessed it, they were sold out.
Since I tried  the chips they have become my favorite ones to eat.  The chips are cooked somewhere between kettle cooked and regular chips with a real good taste.  And another good part is you get a big bag for $1.99 instead of the $4.29 a bag the other brands are.

I have been putting off buying lettuce because the price was not right (for me).
Winn Dixie had the price of $2.49 a head, Walmart at $1.68.  So I went to Save A Lot while it was on the way and the had the price of $1.19 and I bought it at that price.

Yesterday I raise our patio awning, because of the weather report of an incoming storm with high winds.  I'm glad I did because it poured the rain all night and the wind is supposed to come later on in the day.  There are several tornado warnings for the counties south of us.

I moved the dinette booth back out and primed the walls then put it back in.  I will still have to do that maybe three or four more times with the final coat of paint and the flooring.  All the things to do over and over again in order to use while working on this project.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Work days and Rest days

Going to the store sometimes seem like an every day occurrence.  At least the grocery store is only a couple of miles down the road.

But all those trips knock me out of working on the motor home.  Which is taking longer than I had planned it would.
The priming of the walls is coming along though.  With having to take down the window blinds and putting them back up until its time to put the coat of paint on takes up time.
And of course now its coming to do that to the dinette with the table and seats.  Then the sofa with all the things we have stored under it.
Doing all of this with living full time in the motor home is quite a chore.
Of course we knew it would take time in knowing how quick I tire out these days.

Today it will be college basketball games where I will be watching them on the tv.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Doctors and Doctors

Nancy's kidney doctor wanted a copy of her bloodwork before she was to be there for her appointment in case there was something else needed to be checked.
So I ran a copy off of the results and we took it down to her to look at.  As a result she still has to have some more blood drawn because the kidney doctor needed something else checked.

Then it was a stop at the doctors office where Nancy was the other day, they were suppose to call a prescription in which they didn't do.  So they said it would be called right in.

By that time it was time to eat and we decided to go to Chili's to have supper.  We had their version of chicken fingers and it was really good and more than enough so we brought half of it home for another time to eat.

On the way back home we stopped off at the Walgreens to pick up the medicine the doctors office had called in.
After getting back home by which time it was dark we both pulled our shoes off and relaxed after a half of the day from running around.

The weekend consisted of watching college basketball games.  Some good and others not so good.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Bloodwork report

The doctor showed Nancy her results of the bloodwork up and she was surprised that her numbers were better than she expected.  So we were happy about that.

As far as mine went the numbers had gone up a little since the last time I had blood work done.
Not very much but enough that I do want them down in the normal range they should be.
Most of them can be corrected by changing my eating pattern.

Yesterday I filled up the tank on the car the first time since it was filled up in Georgia.
I filled up at the Shell Station where I used my "Rewards Card"  with the price being 187.9.
That was a 25 cent discount from the price of 212.9, it sure did fell good to pay less than $2.00 and more a gallon.

From there it was to Walgreen to pick up our meds I thought, but they didn't have all of them ready.
So I went to Winn√Dixie to do some things we needed while they finished up the prescriptions.

After getting back home and having a light lunch Nancy started washing our laundry in our small washer/spin dryer.  After she had a good load washed and spin dried I took it down to the laundromat here at the park to dry completely. The small washer takes two loads washing before it is one dryer load.

By sunset yesterday it looked like it was going to be a cold night and it was.
This morning it was 36˚ I know that's not cold, but hey folks this is Florida.  You know the sunshine state.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Sorta busy

It was a slow weekend in that I did no work on the remodeling.

I started Saturday off with a nice breakfast of ham and eggs, hash browns, cut up Hungarian hot peppers, biscuit and jelly and coffee.

But I was real busy watching some college ball games and eating hot dogs.  For some reason hot dogs are one of my favorite foods.
Reasoning may be that all through high school my mom had a little snack bar beside the school that kept her busy.  And after being there all day she was not going to be home the rest of the evening fixing supper for my brother, me and herself so we had hamburgers or hot dogs from the snack bar.
Being teenagers my brother and I didn't mind this as any teenager would love to have a choice of hot dogs or hamburgers for a meal.

Mom was a great cook, so weekends we would have nice big meals. She would have fried chicken that would put  Kernel Sanders to shame.

Nancy and I have an appointment tomorrow to go in and see the results of our bloodwork.
Nancy's may change from time to time but mine usually stays the same.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Anothe day

Nancy had a early appointment to have a ultrasound, so that meant another morning without breakfast.
But that was ok it also was breakfast eating out again. This time it was a late breakfast at the Sunny Side Up Restaurant, which only a half mile from where Nancy had her ultrasound.
As it turned out our breakfast was just as good and a little less costly than the Breakfast Club the other day.  And on top of that more food, a bowl of gravy, extra piece of bacon for Nancy, larger sausage patties for me.

After getting back home I continued working on the motor home remodeling which looks like is going to take up most of my time this winter.
Did I mention I'm more than kind of slow.  Well these days I just get tired really quick.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Busy Morning

With the Thanksgiving ham that was too much for Nancy and I to eat I sliced the rest of it off the bone.  We had four packages that were sliced to go in the freezer for a later date to eat.

Saturday was football and basketball time for me, which took up most of the day.

Yesterday I did get some time to work on taking one bench seat loose of the dinette.  They had more screws holding it than was needed.  But of course there were many that was suppose to go in the floor that were short and only the carpet was holding at that point.

This morning we went to the Gulf Coast Medical Clinic to have our blood drawn and Nancy had to have a chest x-ray.
Next we stopped to have breakfast at the Breakfast Club.  It is not a Breakfast Club but a restaurant.
This was our first time eating there and we enjoyed it and will be back.
The price was good for what we had, so was the food and the service.

Our next stop was Walgreen's to get our flu and  pneumonia shots.
That took up half the day.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Very good day

I hope all you people had a good Thanksgiving and didn't eat too much.  Or you may be like me and try to eat up most of the food so you will not have to eat it all week.

When I got this potato out of the bag to peel it so we could cook it, I notice it was looking at me with its lips sticking out ready to say something.  It looked like a potato head straight out of the bay.
I didn't hear it say anything , so I went ahead and peeled it.

We put the ham and potatoes in the Instant Pot to cook together and that worked out to be good.
Nancy did the sides while the Ham, potatoes were cooking.

So with the ham and potatoes, the sides of green beans, sweet potatoes, pickle eggs and hot rolls we had a very nice and quite dinner.

after dinner we watched a movie then took us a short Thanksgiving Day nap. It was a very nice day for us with each of our children calling us.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Happy Thanksgiving to all

First thing today I give my readers a big Happy Thanksgiving and also to the rest of your family.

Nancy and I will have our own time here in the motorhome as we prepare our meal for the day.
We chose to have ham with sides instead of turkey this year because we like ham better.

Since 2000 we have been fulltiming only on a couple of times with friends we have had just the two of us having dinners.  But we always talk about when our children growing up and we lived close to Nancy's two sisters.  We would have around no less than 20 people enjoying a big Thanksgiving dinner.  With Nancy and her sisters fixing different things we would have a big table full of food.

Anyway leading up to today Nancy and I went shopping Monday but first I had an appointment with my cardiologist that check me over and said all my numbers and test were good so he would see me in six months.

While I was seeing the doctor Nancy was getting ready.  The first stop was to Cracker Barrel to get us something to eat.
Then I dropped Nancy off at Walmart while I went to Rural King to lick up a few things.
I went back to Walmart, you talk about crowded. The place was packed and I sure was glad the Nancy was about finished.  Some of the people were getting a little angry not being able to get through the lanes and they were letting others know about it. Not a very good place to be.

We were soon on our way home and glad to be out of that crowd.

After getting home putting away the groceries  it was time to relax for the evening.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

A good Saturday

I had a little shopping to do at the different stores Saturday before the college ball games came on.

First thing though I had to go south to the stores but really had to go north to make a U turn to get into the south bound lane.

My first stop was to Dollar Tree to get a couple of brushes for the painting.

Next up was Ollie's Bargain Outlet for a couple of things and as usual I like to walk through  looking at the different things they have from time to time.

Next up was to Winn√Dixie to by some good fresh sliced cooked ham at $1.99 a pound.

By the time I got back home it was time to settle in and watch the college ball games.

Looking out the window I thought it was a good way to end a very relaxing day with that beautiful sunset.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

More work

I have not been painting for the last couple of days, something else came up.
We've had a water leak down one side of the front slide out which had to have my taking care of first.
I knew it was bad but it was more so than I thought (isn't that always true).
I had to rework a small section of the wall and put on a new surface to be painted.

I also had to go to Lowes to get the wall panel I thought was best for what I wanted.  I also needed a few more tools than I had for doing this work.

Our motor home looks like it is upside down and I told Nancy it will be like this until I finish.
It takes a lot longer to do this kind of work when you are in your rv fulltiming  and have to shift thins around while you are working.  But we will get through with it as long as it takes.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

A Big thank you.

We are observing Veterans Day today and just can't say enough to thank all the vets.

If you really want to see what the cost of freedom is, take a walk through a  National Cemetery.

                                  Thank you Vets

Game Day

Still doing the primer on the walls which looks like will take longer than I thought.
Of course I have to take breaks in the mean time like going to the store and there is the laundry which I take to the laundromat to dry.  It helps quite a bit that Nancy is able to do the washing and spin drying in the little Washer/Spin Dryer we have.

I will probably take the day off today to watch the college football games that are on the tv.
And go to the store for some of the week-end specials they are having.

Here is a photo of the sunset we had the other evening looking from our patio.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Doctor's Report

Well the Big Day of the election is over and I'm sure glad it is.  All the ads on the tv were so many they hardly had time to show anything else.
Watching all the election ads you would think there are no honest people in our government and no honest people running for office.

As far as the college basketball goes the opening of the season was something to watch.
It looks as though some teams are already in there prime and others still have work to do.

We also went to the doctor for our checkup with Nancy doing about the same.
I had to have an x-ray of my right hip joint and back.  The x-ray showed no broken bones or anything out of place.  What it did show that the hip bone has some arthritis and the back has bone spurs on each vertebrae.  So it looks like a little pain medication for me.

With our motorhome being 17 years old Nancy and I decided it was time to do a little inside modifications.  With me being closer to 81 then 80 we know it will be a slow process, but hey we've got the whole winter to work on it.
So yesterday I started putting the primmer paint on the wall. "Oh my this is going to take a while".

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Big Day

Today Nancy and I have our regular getting back to Florida appointment to check us out.
I've got the right hip joint that has been a pain for a couple of months that needs checking.
It has been such a pain that I can't  self up.  So I know an x-ray is probably taken.
Also both of us will have some blood work on the order.

Today is a big day for people in the USA with the voting going on and most of them watching the results on the tv.
It is also my big day because the College Basketball Season starts today.

Is this a big day for you?

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Big Storm

We had a rough day weather wise yesterday.  We had thunderstorms with high winds and lightning plus warnings of four different tornadoes.  I didn't take down the patio awning but I wished I would have. The wind was giving it a workout and we thought it was going to tear it off, but it held its ground.

This Dollar General Store didn't fare as well with a broken door window.  Several houses had trees blown down on the roofs and carports smashed up.

Today is a different story as the sun is shinning nice and bright.

Thanks for atopping by and have a great day.

We got a Fireplace

Yesterday the morning time started out as usual, catching up on reading the morning blogs to see what everyone was doing. Reading the home town paper to see who was doing what and to go over the obituaries looking to see if we have lost any friends.

By the time I was finished on the computer Nancy had our waffles ready.  I decided I would try a banana on mine.  I've always just put syrup on mine so adding a banana was new for me.  I'm glad I did because it really tasted so good.
With breakfast out of the way it was time to do a little shopping.  My first stop was the roadside market where I bought a couple of cucumbers and a small tray of apples.

Then a stop at the Ollies Outlet Store. I bought us a small electric fireplace, its the kind that has the rotating flames and is soothing to watch.  Our small heater that we had stopped working a week ago and we have had it for several years so it was time for a new one.

Next stop was Save A Lot for a few groceries including can items.

After getting back home, putting away the things that I bought, it was time for other things.
Rolling out the patio awning and anchoring it down was the first in order because Nancy says it feels more like we are settled in when the awning is out.
The site that we are on is no level so letting down the levelers the steps are to high for Nancy and I have to have a small platform under the bottom step.

Later on in the evening we had a peanut butter sandwich to go with the good homemade soup that Nancy had made for us. She always makes enough for several days, so I know what we are having for supper today.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

In Florida

We made it to Florida somewhere around 4:30 Monday evening.

Since we spend more time in Florida it seems like home than any other place.

We saw a lot of used to be billboard sign that was the result of Hurricane Michael.

Lots of pumpkin sales in the small towns.

Fresh turned fields ready for the planting of crops.

We are taking our time getting settled in for the winter season.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Leaving out tomorrow

We woke up this morning to the temperature of 49° and it sure did feel cold.

We have been enjoying visit with our grandson Jeremy and family.   We have been over to their house for a few hours each evening and will do so today.
Last evening we were over the great grand children were busy getting ready putting on their costumes to go trick & treating.  Of course they had to get in the act of scaring Nancy and myself.

After they were gone we stayed a while with Jeremy to watch a college football game.

This is our view looking out the window parked in our site here in Cain's Creekside RV Park.  This is a very nice quite place that is a "Passport America" member park.

Below are a few photos taken while visiting my brother Nick.
This is one of the many meals we had featuring ham this time.

I know its almost winter time but the small apple tree has a few blossoms on it.+

Tomorrow we will leave out going to Florida.  We may reach the Winter Paradise Park in Hudson, Florida or not. (we will see).

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

A Good Visit

Well short time visiting with Nick and Joann has come to an end again.  The visit is always to short but even if we stayed a couple of weeks it would seem like a short time.
Nick and Joann must think we are starving because they are always wanting to fed us something.  It is hard turning them down because I always gain a few pounds when we visit them.
They are overly good to us.
So thank you Joann and Nick for another good visit.

So now we are parked in the Cain's Creekside RV Park in Hahira, Georgia while we visit our grandson Jeremy and family.  We will be here for three days then moving on down in Florida where we be for the winter season.

Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.

Short Posting

Our time at the Lake Sinclair campground came to an end yesterday.   Because it was time for us to head on down the road to visit a few day with Nick and Joan (my brother and his wife).

This is another stop that we make coming and going to Florida that we enjoy very much of our family time.   It seems like I always have things to do when I visit with Nick that I have to have his help.
This time the help I need is that there is a small leak somewhere with the radiator on the cavalier tow car.
That will be if it warms up as it was 41º when we woke up this morning.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

On the road again

Cushman RV Repair got the new in tank fuel into the shop by 10:30 Tuesday morning.
Then it was installed, the fuel put back in, all the paper work with the tow truck company and Cushman finished and We were on our way by 1:30 pm.

The Tow Truck Company (Reeves Wrecker Service) owner Tommy gave me a break on the cost because I didn't have any insurance or tow service policy.

Also I was satisfied on the cost of the repair from Cushman RV Repair which I thought was going to be more than they charged me.

So now we are here at the Lake Sinclair Campground in the  Oconee National Forest for a few days trying to unwind from the hectic week we have had.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Its the fuel Pump

Well the large tow truck came yesterday as promised.  After backing the tow truck up to the front of the motor home and raising the front of the motor home the driver (Rusty) had to crawl under it to disconnect the drive shaft.
It didn't take very long before he was on the way with Nancy and me following in the car.  It wasn't a very good feeling to see our home moving down the road like this.

After getting to the repair shop we waited a short time to see if they needed any information.
They would start on finding the problem after they finished up on another job they were working on.

So Nancy and I took off to the Cracker Barrel to get us a late breakfast with us taking our time eating and enjoying it knowing we had no need rushing.
After our meal we went to the Dollar Tree for a few thing that we needed.
From there it was to Walmart to do some shopping and more or less just to idle our time away.

After getting to the repair shop and our motor home I saw this buckets and buckets of gasoline so with the service manger (Jeff) telling me what I suspected that the fuel pump in the tank was reason for the motor home not starting.  He was waiting for the technician to remove the pump from the tank so he could get the numbers off it to order a new one.

We spent the night in the motor home where it sits hooked up to 50 amp so that was the nice part of it that we can be here as long as it takes to repair and not have the expense of a motel.
We it will not be more that a few days.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

No big wind for us

Our site in Petersburg Campground fifteen miles north of Augusta, Georgia.
We were suppose to have 50 mph wind Thursday night but it didn't happen.  In fact what wind we had did not even move the motor home at all.

The wind coming across Thurmond Lake Friday did produce some white cap waves and no boaters on the lake for the day.

Our electric power went out at 2:00 am Friday morning and stayed off until late that evening due to the fact of a tree falling across the power line coming into the park.

It snapped a couple of power lines located one half a mile from the park.

Today is a different story with the campground full of campers and boaters on the lake.

I put a new fuel filter on the motor home thinking maybe that might be the problem but no luck with it starting.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

More catching up

We left the Walmart in Clayton, Georgia after picking up our prescription medicine from the Walgreen Pharmacy.

The next stop was Parsons Mountain Lake Campground.  I think it was back in June when we stayed here going north.  We really like this place with around 28 sites and we usually are the only ones here,  The other thing is the price of $3.50 a night using the Golden Age Passport and that is with water, flush toilet and showers.  Now that is a price hard to beat.

Yesterday we arrived and are here at the St. Petersburg COE Campground.

As usual another Problem.
I'm in a site and will be here until Monday when I will be pulled out with a tow truck.
The motor home died out before I got all the way back in the site and would not start.  I think it might be the fuel pump that is in the gas tank.

We are connected to the electric and have water so that is better than this happening on the side of the road.
We are going to enjoy our time here so if we can do that with our problems surely you can------

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Left Douglas Lake

We left Douglas Headwaters Campground Sunday but not to quick.  When I got in the car to start it to connect to the motor home.  I had one of those "oh no again" moments because the battery was dead.  Cherisa and Haven came over to see us leave and she gave me a jump start so I went into town and bought a new battery.  It seems as though my luck is still holding up.

We did get under way and soon going through crowded Gatlingburg.

Would you look at this, there's a Margaritaville in Gatlinburg.

There were a lot of hikers hitting the trails.  They were parked in several places along the road all the way up the Great Smoky Mountains.

We were parked in our spot in The Cherokee National Forest at the Elkmont Campround.
We stayed for four days and left just after noon today.  But not before we stopped in Cherokee to visit a laundromat to do our laundry.

We saw some elk including this old big buck.  Look at that rack that he was proudly showing off.

We are parked at the Walmart in Clayton, Georgia for the night.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

More repairs

The old rig has to be getting into shape with all the repairs being done on this trip.
Since last reported I put on a new sewer valve because the old one was beginning to stick.  So I thought that I might as well do it here where I could empty the black tank and rinse it good instead of maybe not being able to empty it because the valve would be stuck tight.
I tried lubricating it but it did not help it.

Yesterday Nancy did the washing on our small washer/spin dryer.  This small machine fits in the shower where she can run and empty the water she uses.  The spin dryer spins so fast it almost dries the clothes.  After Nancy was through I took the clothes to the laundromat to dry them completely.
This small machine has saved us time doing the laundry and has already paid for its self.  It only takes around 3 or 4 gallons of water to do 13 pounds of laundry.

We have had a couple of days of almost constant rain and it is suppose to rain all day today.
So it looks like a stay inside day today.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Meeting up

Saturday our grandson and his mom(Haven & Cherisa) came out to visit us. They both work so the weekend is the only time we have of meeting up with them for a visit.

Haven has grown up to be a nice tall looking young man.  Its hard to believe that it doesn't seem that long ago that Nancy was bouncing him up and down on her knees.

After getting caught up on what we were doing in the last year since we saw them, wedecided go out to have something to eat.
We went o Mel's Diner to eat where the conversation never stopped even while eating.
Then getting back home the visit continued until Cherisa and Haven said their goodbyes and that we would see one another again the next day.

Yesterday was an agreed upon picnic with Cherisa bringing a bucket of chicken with all the sides for our four person picnic.

We went to the overlook of the lake and campground for the picnic.  A nice place with a view of the lake.

A couple of wild turkeys roaming around.

We stayed a couple of hours or maybe more with time not a factor but with an incoming rain we thought it best to end this part of the day.
We came back home where the talking never slowed down, until we all became sleepy, so Cherisa and Haven decided to call it a day.

Nancy and I had a good time visiting them the last two days and we will see them again before we leave.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Haircut and Repairs

Nancy needed to get her hair cut so Wednesday was the day for it.

We could not decide where we wanted to eat so we thought we would just drive through Pigeon Forge and when we saw a place that looked like it was calling us in that would be the place.

That place ended up being the 5 Oaks Farm house that was new in town. A very large restaurant with wooded tables and bench seats.  I don't know why this place called me to stop and come in because it is a little on the high price side.  Anyway we only had a bowl of "pinto beans and slaw".  The food was good and more that we could finish up but still over priced.  It may be that we have been in the forests too long and not in a tourist town.

After our meal we where on our way for Nancy's haircut at Great Clips.
But first I had to stop by Ricky's R V Repair for the cable foot flush for our toilet that had broken.
Yeah, I don't think I told you about that one of the many things that has needed repaired this trip.

While Nancy was at Great Clips I took my new phone and the and the old phone to the "Cricket Store" to have the service put back on the old one that decided to work again.
This was because I like the one year old phone better than the new one and I have a lot of apps on it.

Yesterday I took the toilet apart and installed the new cable and could not believe how much better it flushes.  It is easier to flush than when it was new.

This is our site at the Douglas Headwater Campground.

This is what we have to looked at each day from our motor home.
Nancy sure likes the campground by the lake.

We have no plans for the day so I'm sure something will come up.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Sevierville, Tennesse

We made another move yesterday and are at the Douglas Dam Headwaters Campground.
I called a few days ago to see if they had any sites open so I could make a reservation since the campground might be full at this time of year.
The lady told me they had a lot of empty site open so just come on in.
When I got her they said they had no sites empty for the length of time I wanted to be here (12 days).
I told her I would make a move from site to site in order to stay.  After she looked at her sheet, she could do that and I would only have to move once.

We are going to do some visiting while we are here and other things that need to be taken care of.
But we are going to find the time to do much needed relaxing because with all the things that have happened on this summer trip had been very stressful.  Not that we have not enjoyed it, which has made it a good trip.
When you have a rig that is 16 years old you can expect things to wear out and it looks like it was all at once this trip.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Just pitilling around

I guess most people have been keeping up with the hurricane that hit the east coast the last few days.
It has been down graded to a tropical storm now but is still doing a lot of damage with high wind and flooding.
Our hearts go out to those people.   Nancy and I can truly say we know how they feel since we lost two houses due to flooding.

Things around here have been slow.  I did finally went to the barbershop since I couldn't find any sheep farmers in the area to shear me.  That has been the longest time I have had between haircuts.
Of course we had a trip to Walmart and Kroger to do some shopping with things we need.
I still need to go today since we are short on bread.
Nancy and I eat our bread so different.  Sometime we will use up a loaf in no time and other times we have to throw out a half of loaf because it gets so old.

I will do a little something today and them settle in and watch some college football games.

We are suppose to get rain and winds tomorrow from what is left of hurricane Florence.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Staying longer

We are still here in the Cumberland National Historical Park  Campground.

We were going to head south but Nancy didn't like the idea of it after watching the Weather Channel and seeing all the storms out in the Atlantic.  So it looks like we may be in the area for a little longer.

We do not like to get up early in the morning, but sometimes we need to.

When we do we are gifted with a lovely morning like the one we had the other morning going to get the levelers put back on the motor home.
The fog hung low for a long time that morning and really looked nice.

Yesterday we had an extra load of laundry to do so we packed it up and went to the Laundromat to do the large load using several washers and dryers.

After finishing the laundry we went to Pelanchos Mexican Grill to have a really good meal.

Then a stop at Kroger to finish up our day in town.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Front Levelers Repaired

After calling several different RV Dealers and repair shops I finally have my front levelers repaired and back on the motorhome.

G & S Truck Repair, the same place that repaired my rear brakes plus a new rotor back in 2014 did it for me.  I went to Granville with my problem on the levelers.  He said he knew of a Hydraulic Shop that might repair them, so he called the guy and talked to him the guy said bring them over and he would repair them.  That was Wednesday and yesterday Granville called  to say they were ready and be there 8:00 this morning and he would put them on.
so that's one of the problems taken care of.

Once again Granville came through for me with the work and a price that was more than fair.

So, if you ever need work on your motorhome and in the area near Middlesboro, Kentucky called G & S Truck Repair I know for sure you will be treated fair and honest by Granville.

Nancy and I decided we would stay here in the campground at Cumberland Gap a few extra days to rest and I have a couple of more things that need taken care of.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

We are OK

Hey, we are alive.  We did not get kidnapped . so if you got a ransom note don't pay it.

Before I tell you where we are now I will just tell you where we have been all this time and let you get caught up on things.

We left the Hollywood Casino Free parking spot and headed down through Virginia on our way to a point to go across into West Virginia.  But first it was a stop to fill up with gas for $2.48 a gallon instead of $2.89 in West Virginia.

After traveling the country in West Virginia.

See barns after barns and corn fields.

We could see at a distance what we were headed for!

And a closer look at Seneca Rocks. It is a beautiful site and shear rocks where people from the US to challenge the rocks by climbing them.
We spent four days at the Seneca Shadows Campground and really enjoyed those days.  Of course we didn't have wifi or phone signals.

Next was Sherwood Lake Campground which is in the Monongahela National Forest.
We had a site right on the lake side.

We saw deer everyday in the campground.

I think this is some kind of mushroom that was close to our site.  If you know what it is please tell me in the comments section. After four day we where ready to leave.

Well not really, we noticed that there were some dispersed  sites just a couple of miles outside the campground.  We saw a nice site beside the creek so we parked there for two days.

This was looking out of our door, the creek with the clear water looked nice and cool (and it was).

With five waterfalls making a nice sound and no problem sleeping.  We stayed here another two
days and really enjoyed looking and listening to the creek.

Then it was on to Bluestone Lake Campground where we had our Family reunion this year.
The first four days we were in the primitive section. then we moved to the camping area where we had electric and water.  We spent more time this year with out service hookups than we ever have and this after we installed a residential refrigerator.

Of course we have a new little friend that is a 1000W Sportsman generator. Its hard to believe that with a 1/2 gallon gas tank that will run it 6  1/2 hours before it needs filling again. But we also have the 5500W Onan generator.  We run "little Genny" (that's what we call it) most of the time.
Also 425 watts of solar panels on the roof with a 2000W sine wave inverter we get along just fine.

Now to put you up to date we are in the Cumberland Gap Campground for a time that depends.
Well as this trip has been with a lot of things wearing out----my front levelers decided to join in and not holding up and leaking hydraulic fluid out.  They are at an Hydraulic Shop and we are waiting to see if they can repair them.

With all that has happened this is still one of our best trips.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
