Walking

It was a nice day,but kind of hot so we went down to Key Vista Park to walk under the trees.

You can walk to around 1/2 mile and come out to the Gulf.

there is a bench for sitting on and just looking at the water or you can take this walkway down to the water. There is always a nice breeze here.

This is looking north on the beach.

There are no waves here the water is calm. If you are looking for waves and a large beach you will have to drive down to Clearwater.

Good Start

Nancy gave me a good start today. She fixed me a great breakfast.

This is what it looked like when I mixed it up.

I had eggs, bacon, peppers, tomatoesand onions all mixed. That with coffee and blackberry jam on toast,Yummy. I have always liked this breakfast. I can't eat this very often though. Probably shouldn't eat it at all.

Oh I just had to stop to buy some vegetables from the roadside market. The items here are always farm fresh. You just cannot get the same tasting fruits and vegetables in a store.

Zephyrhills

We are going over to Zephyrhills.Fl. today to see our friends Lena and Earl Fries.
They are in a different park this year and they wanted us to come ovr for a visit and see the park. This area has a lot of rv parks to choose from. They seem to like this one better than the one that they stayed in for a couple of years.

Thanksgiving has come and gone but the turkey remains to be eaten. Nancy fixed a great dinner this year. We had planned on going out and then she said she would do the dinner. She said she knew how I liked to lay around and eat and watch the ball games. She's really good to me. I don't mind the leftovers, they are good.
I got to watch some college basketball and I really like that.
It is starting to warm up a bit this week, feels more like Florida.

The fruit trees are bearing lots of their fruits.

Here a grapefruit tree is loaded down.

Not much happening again today. The weather is cool(12:00 pm 58*) . So we are slow getting outside. When we lived in West Virginia the cold weather didn't bother us as much as it does now. I guess the last 6 years being spent in Florida has got our skin thin and spoiled us.
We will get out though. We want to keep up with our walking and there is a few things we need to do.

Flea Market

We went up to the USA Flea Market today. We bought a few things, but just mostly walked around and looked at "stuff".

Also the Hudson Sea Fest is going on beside the flea market. Looks to be just the carnival type of things in there. We didn't go into it.

Cool Down!

We had a small rain storm last night, but nothing like we thought it would be. The weather report for our area said we could expect some strong winds and heavy rain. That didn't happen and we are glad it didn't. The temperature has fallen to 68* here at 9:30am this morning.
The high is only going to 73* today. Still a nice day.

Thursday, November 16, 2006

As we walked I could see that it rained more than I thought it had. I guess I must have slept though some of it.

Of course when you walk you have to check out the mall. This is the place that is for those things you don't want anymore or can't use. They dispose of different items that are still working and someone else can use. Everyone checks the place out. You take and you bring.

The sandhill cranes were enjoying the breeze today. All they had to do was get in the air and spread their wings and just glide around.

Planting Time

After breakfast and walking I went over to Lowes and bought some potting soil. I had bought 2 tomato plants a couple of days ago and I needed to get them in something large enough so they would grow faster. I also got a few flowers and will find some planters and transfer them later. I love to plant and watch things grow.

Beautiful Morning

It is a lovely day here today. We had oatmeal for breakfast this morning. Nancy says I need to eat more oatmeal so I ate some this morning.
Then it was time to walk. The sky and the reflection was a nice scene as we walked around it. We ended up with 3 1/2 miles so far today.
We will walk more later. Today is wash day so off to the laundromat we go.

Doing laundry

The Cleaners and Laundromat

After we finished with the clothes we went to WalMart to grocery shop. We bought enough of what will will have each day for a week. We will probably have to get a few little things to go with the main dish. Hopefully this will cut down on running to the store so many times.

Sunday

After our usual morning of watching Good Morning America with our first cup of coffe it was time to get out of bed (this has been the way we start each day for years).
I had a bagel and blackberry jam with another cup of coffee. Nancy had toast and her red plum jam with her second cup of coffee.
Now we are getting ready to go to church.

Sunday, November 12, 2006

We got to the church and saw around 15 motorcycles parked on the church lawn with the riders standing around their bikes. We proceeded in and set down. A short time later the bikers came in and sit down. The preacher got started welcomed everyone there. He said he wanted to introduce some speacial visitors. He introduced the "Heaven's Saint's(the bikers) they are a christain group of bikers from the area. After a good sermon we stopped to eat lunch and then came home. Now we are setting around resting up.

Evening Walk

5:30 PM

We had our evening walk around the park, nothing going on just the usual stuff.
We did see this blackbird drying its wings.
Maybe tomorrow will bring something different.
Not much to write about today. We did our walking this morning, some people were going to the pool at 10:30 which is nice the temps are up in the 80's.
I hurried to the store and back with ground beef and buns. Later I will fire up the grill and enjoy burgers while I will watch football all day and half the night.

Finished

The remodeled shower base is finished. It was quite a bit of work cutting and ripping off the carpet. I bought a new(new to me)type of floor tile to put around the bottom. It is rubber and it bents easy around the 45 degree angle. I used plastic trim for the bottom and top. I used liquid nails applied to the back of the tiles to hold them in place.

Sunshine

This day is full of sunshine. After we finished our biscuits and jam we were off walking.
With the day so nice alot of people were out and about. As we walked along we wouldn't get very far along before we stopped to talk say our hello's and welcome back to all of them.
We did manage to get through with the walking that was 3 miles.
When we got back I worked on the shower base that was looking bad from a leak that I had repair earlier. It had carpet on it that had to go. With the reinforcing of the base and repairing I now have to find something to go around it. Always something to do,to keep it all working smoothly.

Orchid Lake

After driving in some rain we made it to our winter park. Upon entering the park we saw the new fountain that they have in the middle of the lake. They have lights on it in the night time,so it looks nice.

Catching Up

Well I've got a little catching up to do. So here goes.
We left out of Pigeon Forge and stopped to see my brother in Warner Robins Ga. for 3 days. Nothing exciting there but,we had a nice visit as we always do. I think myself and Nancy always gain around 5 pounds when we stop there for a visit. Nick and Joann alway feeds us to much. We left their house Saturday and stayed in Valdosta,Ga. for 2 nights visiting with our daughter Sherry and our grandson Jeremy. We left out today and are now parked in a WalMart lot for the night in Bushnell,Florida.
We will be in New Port Richey tomorrow evening where we will be spending the winter.

Exciting Night

It was a different night at the FlyingJ last night. Everything was ok until 5:00 am this mornng. All was quite ad then the lady on the loud speaker started repeating "we have an emergency everyone out of the building". In about 5 minutes the red lights were flashing from 5 fire trucks and an ambulance. I didn't see a fire or smoke so I guess it must have been a grease fire in the kitchen. I was glad of that. We didn't want a fire with all those gas pumps and propane there.
