We were still tired yesterday so nothing but laying around. Today we had a doctors appointment for our annual checkup and to get our perscription for our medicine. From there we went for a little walk in the mall then to the Super Chinese Buffet. Then it was to Big Lots and Target to walk and look. That took up almost all day.

Good Trip

We made it back home after the great weekend that we had visiting with Jarod and Chelsea. They are a great couple to be around. They are very excited about the baby boy that is soon to arrive within the next month. The little ones room is fixed up so nice as well as all the house is. They can be very proud of themselves.

We can more than enough to eat for thanksgiving. We had turkey and ham with all the side dishes. I think everyone of us had a great time being together.
Yesterday morning they were all up early to do the "Black Friday" shopping. Not Nancy and I we rather sleep and not get up at 5 am to go shopping, that is not us any more.

Here is Jarod with his Nanny. We just love all of our children. Jarod was all excited about the things he got shopping friday. Some of which he will take to Kiwait, when he is deployed there in a month or so.

As you can see even the family dog had a great time. "Allie"just loves to swim in the pool and she stayed there most of the day.

Happy Thanksgiving

We did get away early yesterday morning. The roads had travelers going and coming but not so crowded that made the traveling nice.

After seeing various things and passing by Bubba's Place.
Traveling through some filled roads. I try to stay off interstates as much as possible so I can see things besides people in their cars rushing by me.

We finally made it to Alabama.
We went through several small towns that were at times on the main roads before the interstates. It always gives me a sad feeling, because I can remember when these towns were thriving with bussiness.
We stopped in one of the towns for a good buffet. We like to taste cooking of the local establishments rather than the same chain restaurant food. Most of the time its good and then sometimes not to tasty.
We did get to Chelsea and Jarods house which is a large house with a large back yard and inground pool. They have things fixed up nice and neat. We will be having our Thanksgiving dinner later on today.
I hope everyone has a great thankgiving today and may the Lord bless and keep you.

Monday

Yesterday morning started out by looking out the window when I woke up to see this squirrel eating out of the bird seeds. The squirrels alway do this but this one looked like it had large ears and they were sticking out so much. After our breakfast we got ready and went down to Safety Harbor to the Quality Sausage House were I was going to buy a few things. I didn't check on the time schedule to see the operating hours and wouldn't you know,it was closed. So we will have to go another day.
On the way back we stopped and did some walking at the John Chesnut Park where we saw this Red Shouldered Hawk. This is a pretty bird. It was a young bird that let us get very close.

This a panoramic view of Tarpon Lake consisting of 4 photos stitched together.

On the way back home we had dinner at Smiths Cafe. We used another coupon out of the Dine-A-Mate coupon booklet.

One of a few restaurants that have the "Blue Plate Specials. We didn't order any of the specials, but off of the menu and the food was good.
Another very good day.

Sunday

Saturday was as you might guess? Yes watching college basketball games, this is my time of the year and I probably spent too much time in front of the television, but I do get some of my work finished beore I settle down for the day.

Yesterday was church day and afterwards we had lunch, dinner or was it breakfast? Anyway we ordered off the breakfast menu. We ate at the Breakfast Station which is on our way home and once again this was a buy one get one free using the Dine-A-Mate coupon booklet put out by the Suncoast News. After only 3 meals eating out the coupon booklet has paid for its self.
After getting back to the house and getting into more comfortable clothes we settle in for the evening, being on the computer, watching tv and reading the Sunday paper.

Flea Market

Yesterday we went to the USA Flea Market to walk and look at things. Nancy bought her a few things she also bought 10 ball point pens for $1.00. The pens were a good bargain, they different company names on them. They must have got the name or something wrong tobe selling them. I also bought some tomatoes and peppers from the little market way in the back. I always get my vegetables at this little place because they have the best prices. From there it was to Walmart for some groceries. Then it was time to come home were I watched college basketball and Nancy read the rest of the evening.

Wednesday we went walking in the James E Grey Preserve. This is another good park for walking it has nice wide boardwalks along the river. We didn't see any animals in this park but we did see the fish jumping in the river. We also saw a couple of fish that looked like they were 18 to 20 inches long swimming at the top of the water.

The water was nice and clear. This is a park that is off the beaten path and is very little used.

Yesterday our walking was at the mall where we went in and out of some of the stores. We got to the mall at the right time and it was not crowded.

Good Breakfast

Yesterday was a some what slow day. It looked as though it would rain just any minute with the wind blowing all day long and cloudy.  It didn't rain until late in the evening.  I watched some of the college basketball games that ESPN had on their 24 hour season opening.  I grilled some nice 3/4 thick petite sirloin steaks.

Even had steak left over for a nice breakfast this morning, with some left over fries.
Maybe we can get out to walk today.

At the park

We finally got to go to the John Chesnut Park to walk yesterday.  This is one of our favorite places to walk and it sure did feel good to be there again.

The park has some board walks and also gravel walkways.  The boardwalks are in the places where on occasionaly water will back up.

There are 2 bridges where you cross over to the lake side of the park.
We got to see a deer yesterday,we enjoy seeing the deer.  It is not everytime we are here that this happens.
And of course the different birds are always here. We didn't see any of the Blue Herons this time.  Maybe later on when they start nesting.  Another good day of out walking.  It just feels better when we walk in the woods.

Same 'O'

Still doing the same thing as always cleaning and putting out flowers

The hanging pots as well as the small pots that I bought are showing signs of life and are enjoy being in fresh potting soil and larger pots.  I just hope they come around and grow more before frost comes.  Just hope the cool spell will not last long.  I sure wouldn't want to redo all that I have done.
We did get to church yesterday and it felt good being back and in our church, seeing the people we haven't seen for a while.

Nice Day

Yesterday was another good day.  I planted more flowers, went to Home Depot, bought more pots and flowers.  We also got a chance to get out and do our walking.

We went to the New Port Richey Park.  The walk around the back water of the bay is nice.

After walking you come to the pier.

The day was beautiful with the birds flying around.

This bird was looking for lunch.

A couple of guys having fun zipping around in their boat.

Yesterday we didn't get out to go anywhere. We had a few things to do around the house.  I did grill a couple of bacon wrapped fillets, which turned out very tasty a good.  After eating we took a walk around the park and saw a few thing to photo.

The resident gopher turtle.

The lily pads were bloomed out yesterday evening.

Getting a few things

Yesterday was a little work then off we went.  First to Harbor Freight to get rechargeable batteries that I needed.  Then to Kmart to get solar patio lights that they had on sale.  We really needed these because it is so dark at this end of the street.
Then it was time for our dinner,I was going to grill some steaks but it got to late for that.  So we ended up going to Caposey's just north of main street on US 19 in New Port Richey.  This restaurant is just a small place that has good food at a good price.
Then it was to Walmart for a few things.  The rest of the evening was tv and computer time.

Buggy Filled

Well yes,I did fill the buggy with tree branches and all the trimmings I had cut.  Planted some of the flowers out of the small pots into a long planter. I did watch one football game and thats about all for the weekend.  Don't know if or what we will be doing today.  Pat has already come and got the buggy to take it to empty.

Work

Nothing exciting is happening around here. Went to the cardioligist thursday for six months check up and everything is in good shape so that is the most important thing.
Still working around, trimming and cleaning.  The guy that brings the trash cans to put things in got tired of me filling them up so he brought his buggy and left it for me to fill up. He will come monday to get it and empty it.  That should be most of the big stuff finished.  We ate out again,2 for 1 so Nancy didn't have to prepare dinner.  She is fixing a pot roast for today and I know it will be good as it usually is.Hope to get a little time to watch some football today.

Nice Day

Yesterday we loaded up 5 bags of books that Nancy had and took them to the used book store to trade them. Now she has a few new used books to read.  From there it was to Kmart to see if we could find anything we needed, which we didn't.  Then to Walmart where we bought some flowers and potting soil.  Then we stopped by Little Caesars to pick up a pepperoni pizza.  After eating our pizza and letting it settle down a little we walked around the park.

We are on the flight path of planes going to and from Tampa so I always have to look up and watch the planes.

We had a beautiful sunset yesterday evening.

Rain

It rained half of the day yesterday then cleared up towards the evening.  I did get time enough to finish trimming and cutting the brush in the back of the park model.  Also washed down and scrubbed the outside of the house,so it was a good work day.
It is going to rain again today.

Saw a Gator

After getting a few things worked on yesterday we went to Walmart to shop and pick up our perscriptions. Went to the mall to walk a little.  We also ate dinner out on a buy one get one for free deal.  Then after getting back we took a walk around the park.

As we passed by the lake we saw these ducks lined up along the bank of the lake which was strange looking.

Then we saw the reason the ducks were looking out into the lake.  We spotted this 6 foot alligator in the lake looking at the ducks.  The ducks were smart enough to not be swimming out in the water.

Same

Still doing the same old thing for yesterday.  Today I will be back cutting and trimming in the back of the park model.  Its the same thing that we do when we come back to the park model. Trimming, spraying and cleaning the house on the outside and inside.  Need to do all these things before we can get out and do our walking and fun things.
