Lot of visiting

We sure have been getting a bunch of hugs since being here visiting Jarod and family.   He and Chelsea have 4 small children and those little arms around your neck sure does feel good.  But you have to be on guard because you never know when they take a run and land on you.

We have been having good meals every day so no chance of us starving.  Yesterday we had pizza and crazy bread from Little Caesar's which was really good and feeling.

I think Nancy is getting tired and worn out from all the visiting but she is enjoying every minute of it.

We've had nice sunny days and a few short rain time a few of the days.

What a Day

Yesterday was the moving day and we were moving slow.  Now we always move slow but it was a different reason.  We had a forecast of heavy thunder storms and that is not the kind of weather I drive the motor home in. So I told Nancy we would go ahead and be getting ready to leave and it would depend on the weather if we would go.
Well the storm did hit so I checked on the radar that I an app on my phone to see what it looked like.  By looing at the app it look as though it would not last long.  So we continued with our plans and when we got ready the storm had passed so after we said our goodbyes to Jackie we where on our way.

We had cloudy skies and even a little sunshine along the way then it was a stop at the Walmart in Winchester to get a few groceries.  Then when I started out the exit door I could see why everyone had stopped.  You talk about a storm, man that was a storm out there with the wind blow the rain was pouring not down but really coming side ways.
There was a little slack in the rain so I made a dash for the motor home but still got soaked.
Nancy was frightened and glad to see me she said when the storm started she heard all the sirens blasting away to indicate the coming storm.
I looked at the weather report on my phone and it did state that we had a tornado warning.
So we had our dinner while waiting out the storm, it felt like we were having dinner on a rough sea cruise.
The storm lasted around an hour and a half then we were on our way again.

But we did finally make to our destination safely, got set up got hugs from everyone and so good to see them again. 
Oh we did have another storm during the night.

Moving Tomorrow

Not a whole lot going on, maybe a little but did not think it would that much.

While here visiting with Jackie (Nancy's sister) I did build a new hand rail for her steps up to the porch and a new section of porch railing.   Then through the week put three coats of cedar of paint on it.

We went to Morehead Wednesday first was Walmart to get a few things.
then by the time we finished there it was time for us to have something to eat so we went to
La Finca a Mexican Restaurant.
All three of us had a good meal and we had more than enough to fill us up.

Or last stop was a stop at Kroger for the rest of our shopping list.
After getting back home I took Jackie to choir singing practice.

Back home I empty our black tank by using our blue tote tank and emptying it in the clean out of Jackie's sewer pipe.  Then filling up our fresh water tank.
I will have to do this again tomorrow since we will be leaving and going to Danville to visit our daughter Vicki and grandson Jarod's family.

We thank Jackie for letting us visit and have enjoyed our time here, but I have to get the wheels moving on the old motor home once again.

Our report Residential vs RV Refrigerator

The leftovers are finally have been eaten.  Well almost there are still two packs of hamburger buns left.  We are making head way with them and everything taste just as good as they were the first day.

We made our weekly run to the stores with Jackie.
With us leaving just after noon time our first stop was to get something to eat and this time it was Fazoli's and all three of us having the baked spaghetti and of course we had to have a double order of the fresh good tasting bread.

Next up was Walmart where we got the things that only has the brand names that Nancy has to have and Jackie getting the certain things she gets in Walmart.

Next was Kroger to buy the meats and also their special items.

I thought this would be a good time to report since being on the road 3 months with our residential Magic Chef 9.9 cu ft install.
Glad to report all is going just fine and we are doing the same as we did with the old Dometic rv refrigerator.
We had all the following already set up while we had the Dometic refrigerator so we didn't buy anything extra to use the residential Magic Chef.

425W of solar panels
4 12volt deep cycle batteries.
2000W true sine wave inverter with the refrigerator connected to it all the time.

When we dry camp Nancy has to use the hair dryer and the air conditioner most of the time getting ready so the generator needs to be running.  But when she doesn't need the air conditioner she can use the hair dryer without the generator.
The most we have done so far is four days straight dry camping.

With a sunny day we go the daylight time without turning the generator on.

We watch tv in the evening into the night time and the generator needs to run a short time.
The same as when we had the Dometic rv refrigerator.

We should have made the switch in refrigerators a long time ago.  The cost of the Magic Chef from Home Depot was $1000 less than the Dometic and so much better.

Too many leftovers

Things are moving slow around here.  For Nancy anyway, with the fluid in her bad that it stays way to long even with the pills she is taking.  Its a constant battle between the fluid and her kidneys.  It would be better if she could take the pills regularly but with her bad kidneys the doctor doesn't want her to take them but three days at a time then stop until her body regains the fluid again.

Yes , we are still eating leftovers from 4th of July, but they are still just as good.
I think we will finish the macaroni salad today and I may be able to down the three hot dogs that we have.  The freezer is full so more eating today.  I don't need to be eating all of that because I have gained way to much weight.

I have been getting a few things that has been on my list of things to do in the motorhome.
Also replacing a coupe of boards on Jackie's porch.

The weather has cooled down a little bit but is going to get warmer in the next couple of days.

A good Day

I sure hope everyone had a good 4th of July and did not eat to much like we did.
Man did we have the food and some of our family didn't attend so we had to eat more than we should of had. There are leftovers to snack on for the next several days.
Of course the best part was that family members got together for a day of visiting which is always good.
We had eleven of us and four of those were of the little  type running around.  So you know trying to keep up with them makes it seem like more.  But we enjoyed the energy that the small one have and they are very entertaining giving us smiles that only they can.

Enjoying our visit

Mostly just visiting with Jackie a few times each day.  Jackie has been over to visit with us maybe more that we have been over to her house.  Nancy has been trying to stay off her feet as much as she can, because they are swelling too much.  Her Nephrologist has her taking pills for the swelling but because it is not good for her kidneys she can't take them for a few days at a time. 
So Nancy is in a fight between the fluid gathering and her bad kidneys.

I did get around to replacing the hand rail on Jackie's steps leading up to the porch.  There are a few more things I need to do before we leave.  At this time we have no idea when we will be leaving.

We are having a small gathering here for the 4th with hot dogs and burgers and I don't know how many sides with the main dishes.

We want to wish everyone a  happy 4th and to enjoy it with their  family and friends.
