This and that

Nancy I and went to the doctor to get the results of the blood work. He looked at mine first and called off each work up by saying "perfect" after each one. So that was good to hear. Nancy's was also pretty good.  So we are doing as good as old people can get.
I've been feeding the birds and as you can see the squirrels and they have really been eating the seeds during the cold spell we have had.
Doing all the normal things like going to the store, getting the mail and trying to stay warm.
Although its not as cold as all the people up north its still cold for our neck of the woods.
I hope it warms up soon so we can get out and do a few things.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Little news

Nancy has to take it easy for about three days after her nerve being cut with the laser. The doctor said it would be around five to six weeks before she begins to tell the difference.
We are  not doing anything special just sitting around and the next few days with the rain that's going to be here it will be the same.  I've been to the store a couple of times and if it wasn't for the habit of eating I would not have to get out.
We are hoping that Nancy will feel much better soon so we can get back to walking.  Both of us miss our time walking out in the woods.

Spine clinic

The weekend was about the same as the past weekends. I watched some college basketball games and a couple of pro football playoff games.
Nancy is still in pain that doesn't want to ease up.  We went to the clinic to have our blood drawn before our doctor appointment next week.
Today Nancy will go back to the spine clinic to have the nerve going down the right side in her back laser cut and she is hoping this will help with the pain she is having. With the problem she has with her kidneys the doctors can't really do the things that will help her they have to kind of work around that problem because they don't want to do anything that will put her into dyalisis.
So another busy day for us.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Some walking

Nancy and I went out to John Chesnut Park to do a little walking. Nancy too her can along to help steady her as she walked and I was on the other side of her to help.
The day started out sunny but by the time we got down to the park it was cloudy and breezy.

This part of the lake had quite a bit of lily pads on it.
Even though it was a cool day as always you can see someone out fishing.
There were a lot of ducks on the water.
Also a couple of cardinals.
Nancy could not do much walking but she enjoyed getting out and walking.
She's hoping she can build her strength back up some.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

New store

Nancy and I got over to the new Walmart "Neighborhood Market".  It has all the grocery items plus a few extra and some household items that the large stores have and also a pharmacy. We didn't go the first day it was opened because we thought they may have a large crowd. I did go passed it on the way to the Winn Dixie store and our thoughts were right. The parking lot was jam packed. The day after we did go even though the weather was cold the crowd was half the size than the day before.
Its good seeing this strip mall come back to life after half of the stores were closed now only a couple of them are empty.
We had a full day of rain yesterday but today is nice and sunny with the temps going into the middle 70's.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Time moves on

Well this week has gone by quite rapidly.  A few trips taking Nancy to different doctors and then her getting her hair cut a little closer. She had it cut only three weeks ago and yesterday had it cut again. She said they didn't cut it close enough the first time around.
With all of that and going to the store a few times plus doing a few things around the house here it is the weekend already. Is it just me or is time moving fast these days?  I told Nancy its either the time is moving faster or my brain is moving slower.
Tomorrow will be college basketball games day again, so I will be in front of that tv set.  I like it much better when we are in the motorhome with different things to do. Like getting out and driving to see the small towns or just getting out to walk through the woods.  Nancy says I could do that here and I tell her it is just not the same as being in different places all the time. But with the problems she has its best we stay in one place so she can see her doctors. Anyway through the winter time at least.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Football

Well did you make it through the extended weekend ok?  There were plenty of football game and a few basketball game to watch if that is what you like. Or you could have sit around getting rested up from your New Years thing that you might have done. As for me I got filled up on cabbage rolls plus football and basketball. Now I have to catch up on some more projects around the house.
Nancy did feel good enough to go to church yesterday. We went with our friends Sam and Carolyn from back where we use to live in West Virginia.
The weather has been nice but is about to change and be cold for us by the weekend. Cold for us is anything under fifty degrees.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Happy New Year 2015

Happy New Year to all of my blog family I hope the new year brings you much health and happiness.  If you have those two things then you can get through the year.
Did you go out to a party or just stay at home and relax last night.
Yesterday was Nancy and my anniversary so we went out for dinner.  After getting back home we started in on making cabbage rolls as we have since we've been married(58 years).  After getting the cabbage rolls (30) made I put them in a slow cooker for a slow cooking overnight. After a while on our computers it was me into the Florida room to watch some football games and her into the bedroom to watch whatever she watches on the tv.  As I was watching the football game around 11:30 four of our friends here in the park dropped in to wish us a Happy New Year.
Around here is probably like most of the places in that on New Years eve you can hear the fireworks long before midnight. Also the fireworks will be heard through out the day.
What about today, will you stay at home to watch the football games or go out and look at the special sales the store will be having or something else. What ever you do today be careful and enjoy the day.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
