WOW--63 Years

Today makes 63 years that the love of my life and I got married.

Nancy and I are still working on our marriage, because when we decided to get married some of our people said it would not work longer than six months.
Yeah we were young with Nancy being 17 and me at 18 it was hard at times.
But the both of us believed in the marriage vowels we took.

We celebrated our Anniversary  by going to the Hibachi Grill and Buffet.
Here Nancy looks happy with her plate full.

And here's mine, I don't eat much, well starting out that is.  I like to get a half cup of the noodles and then add Won Ton soup.

Then here comes my first plate of food.

Then the second smaller plate of food.

Then my dessert, which looks happy to see me.  A couple of donuts, a little pineapple and a couple of  baked coconut cookies.

I don't have to tell you we always enjoy the meal here and we get there early enough for the early bird
special.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Enjoyable Day

Yesterday I went to the Winn Dixie to get a few groceries a little early because I had my day planned.
I mean like a full day with basketball starting at 11:30 am and football finishing up at midnight.

Isn't being retired good at times, when you can set your day doing what you want no matter what day it is?

If you like college sports of football and basketball, this is a good time for you in the calendar year.
Nancy even got into one of the basketball games with me which she rarely does.

There is at least one basketball game that I will watch today and maybe more, with nothing else scheduled.

Its a good day to stay inside with the air-conditioner anyway with the warmer temperature outside.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great day.

Christmas dinner

I hope everyone's Christmas was a very pleasant day for them with their family and friends.

I know a lot of you probably over ate too much, but like we say each year we will start our diet at the start of the new year.

Nancy and I had a nice little dinner consisting of baked ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, sweet potatoes, deviled eggs, and of course this with some onion to add to the taste,
As always we did over eat just a little .

After our meal we just relaxed for the day with our quite time.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day.

Merry Christmas

Monday I went to a couple of stores to get a few groceries that we needed since Nancy wanted to prepare our Christmas dinner.
First was Walmart which was really over crowded with people and their loaded down shopping carts.
But it wasn't to bad since I decided That I would not let it all "get to me".

Next up was to Save A Lot to finish up the shopping.  When I came out of Save A Lot it was raining and had turned very cold.
I was glad that my shopping was finished for the day with the weather turning so cold and raining and all the traffic on the road.

As I mentioned above with Nancy doing our dinner we will be staying home for the next few days.
We always like our special time together.

At this time I would like to wish all my readers- A Merry Christmas may you have a very great day.

Oh, the traffic

Nancy and I did go down to the 1st Quality Sausage House where I bought a bag of different kind of meats and also a homemade nut roll.  I have to say this is not your regular store kind of package things you buy.
All the meat are prepared there in the back part of the store.

The store is a family run store and the will ship to you anywhere in the USA.

That was the good part of our day, but then there is the other part of our day.
All I need to say about that is we had bumper to bumper traffic all the way there and back.
Like I mean three lanes full.

Nancy and I had supper at the Paradise Restaurant in Safety Harbor.
It was a surprise when we saw the special of the day was Hungarian Goulash.  So we both had the special making it a full Hungarian day for us.

Yesterday I got out and went to five different stores to buy some groceries and getting some other things.
I just hope I will not have to go to many more times out while people are doing their Christmas shopping.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Weather has turned

Well the 80 degree weather did not last long enough.  After starting the week with the temperatures in the 80's, yesterday the high was 55 and that is cold for us here in Florida.
When we checked the temperature this morning it was down to 43.
So yesterday was a stay inside day for us, well most of the day anyway.  I did need to go to the post office to send out some important mail.
And also I checked our mail down at the club house where they have our mail in separate boxes.

Nancy and I will be going down to Safety Harbor to the 1st Quality Sausage House to pick up some meats that are prepared Hungarian style.  Beside the Hungarian meats they also have German and Polish meats.  The meats taste just like the ones we had homemade when I was a young child, brings back a lot of memories when I eat of all the different meats they have.

So that will be an all day venture for us.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Getting through the days

I did get to watch a couple of college basketball games Saturday and even sneak in a game or two Sunday.

I guess its ok to take off a day or two every now and then.

This week has started off with Nancy and I both getting a haircut.  First we had out breakfast and talked of what we were going to do.
After deciding how we were going to get into the day, I got ready and headed out to get my haircut.
When I got back home I took a shower as I always do when I get a haircut.  I just can't stand to have loose hair on my neck all day long and be bothered with it.

After Nancy got ready we took off to Great Clips for her haircut and she timed it just right.
Nancy usually has to pay $11.99 to get her haircut but not this time.  When the lady was finished cutting her hair she gave Nancy a coupon for $5.00 off.   So it was just the regular price for Nancy after the coupon and the tip Nancy gave her.

On the way home I stopped at the Burger King and picked up a special 2 for $6.00 Sandwich to take out for our supper.

Today its back to the doctor to see what is going on with Nancy's neck, she had an x-ray last week and of course they have to let the Radiologist read it and see what he/she says about it.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

A full week

Oh my, where did this week go?

Well I guess I will tell you about it if I can remember.

Nancy and I both had doctor appointments, like both of us went to see one doctor for our coming back checkups.
We where about the same, well as same as old people can stay in the 6-7 months we have been gone.
We did get our prescriptions to fill our medicine.   Nancy found out that a couple of her strong meds for the pain she has now can only filled for one month at a time.
That will be a problem when we are on the road?

Then Nancy had an appointment with her Nephrologist, which she told Nancy that her numbers had improved.  So Nancy is holding on with her being in the 4th stage of kidney failure.

We also took care of three loads of laundry, that took up most of the day as each doctor appointments did.

Then I did the small things that take time, going to the store, fuel up the car, going to the post office, you know, don't forget to take the garbage to the dumpster and all those things that take time.

I'm taking part of the day off, I'm going to watch me a couple of college basketball games!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Have things to do

The weather has warmed up and I'm able to put on the short pants and have done so for several days now.

With a day starting out like this with sunshine its no time to stay inside.

I've been going to the stores to get somethings that we have in need of.
The last couple of days I've been to--[get ready here it comes]--Best Hardware Store, Winn Dixie, Walmart, Save-A-Lot, Ollie's, Flowers Bakery Outlet, Rural King, Publix, Dollar General, Little Caesar's and maybe one that I missed.
Hey no wonder my legs hurt!

The temperatures are going to be in the low 80's and night time no lower than 60.
We went to sleep with the window open over our heads last night.

Today maybe will not be a busy day.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Things are slow

Yeah things are slow around here!
Well maybe not that slow.  I have been flushing and cleaning the tanks out.
Getting somethings at the Dollar General that is located on the next street corner from the rv park.
Then of course there's the Walmart that has to have a visit every so often.

The temperature has been in the middle 60's with sun shine for the day time and down to the middle 40's for the night time.

Nancy has been setting up our doctor appointments.  Other than that its just every day things.

Thanks for stopping by and do have a great day.

Sitting still for the winter

After Nancy and I were ready Saturday I went out to disconnect all of our full hookup attachments we were ready to roll on down the road.  I hooked up the car Friday evening so that was a little time saver.

Saturday was a beautiful day for traveling with the sun shinning and the temps just right for the day.
Only one thing is from the time we got on I-75 the traffic was more than I like, but that is the fast road.
You always have the ones that still want to be ahead of everyone else.  They go from lane to lane weaving in and out of all the three lanes on the interstate.
Nancy and I had to laugh when we saw two cars with their Christmas trees on top of the cars passed us at least three times.

After an hour on the road I told Nancy with all the traffic I was amazed that we haven't seen any accidents.  Well that came about twenty minutes later.

The first one was where one car ran into the back of another, and I mean they both were lik a couple of  accordions.

In the second accident was two cars with one on them setting on its top.
The traffic was bumper to bumper with stop and go for at least ten miles and maybe more.

It was 3:30 when we at to Bushnell, Florida and with the crowded interstate, I thought it a good idea to just call it a day by spending the night at the Walmart.

We had a good nights sleep with some more of the overnighters.

After getting ready we were on our way again, but not as much traffic yesterday.

It was a short time on the road and soon we were pulling into our campground for the winter.
After getting everything set up on our site we were ready to relax from the travel times on the road.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Florida bound

I hope all of you had a good Thanksgiving and didn't over do it on your eating.

Nancy and I went to our grandson's house for our dinner where he did all of the cooking.
Here is the 22 pound turkey full of stuffing which was really good.

Here is part of the sides, I think there were eight or nine more sides on the other side of the kitchen.
Everyone had plenty to eat and also plenty left over to take home.

The house was decorated nice they even had a "Harvest Tree".

The town with the trees turning from green to red has a feeling of Christmas time.

Nancy and I will be heading down the road today getting closer to our winter destination.
We have had a nice summer visiting all the family even though Nancy is not doing very well.

So it will be seeing our doctors again for all of our check ups.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Happy Thanksgiving Day

First off I want to wish all of you a very peaceful Thanksgiving Day.

We got to Cain's Riverside RV Park and got a site facing the small pond the they have.

After many Thanksgiving days Nancy and I will be Here having dinner with our Grandson Jeremy and his family.

We haven't seen much of Jeremy since he has been working and gets home late in the evening so we thought it best for him to relax after work.

Most of all though Nancy has not been feeling well with a sore neck, compounded with a headache  that hasn't given up for a few weeks.
She can't take any strong headache medication, only what is prescribe for her because of her failing kidneys.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day.

Very nice days.

After we left Nick and Joan we stopped to fill up with gas at the Kroger store.  Nick followed us down so I could use his Kroger card and it sure did help on the gas by given us a .80 cent a gallon off for the first $50.00.
Thank you again Nick.

After leaving the Kroger store it was soon that I was on I-75 and a short time later I got off because there was a lot off truck traffic.

And it seems as thou more and more of billboards.

Every now and then maybe something else like this old trailer that looked nice.

I got on a two lane road as soon as I could.  This was a relaxing drive as we passed some cotton fields.

Pecan trees in grass fields that looked so nice.

Of course the small towns that use to be the main roadway.

Murals on the buildings.

Once out of town many trees hanging over the roads making a beautiful canopy.

We woke up yesterday morning with a little fog hanging on.

It wasn't very long until the ducks were out and about.

I did a couple loads of clothes which took longer the normal, because the only one washer and one dryer here.

We did have a wonderful sunset that evening.

Even a better showing over the lake.

It was a very nice and thankful day.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day.

Good Visiting

Nick and I have been out some looking at different things that we might need.

Even though we have been walking, I think it might not be enough walking for me.

Yeah, looking at the photo you know what I mean!   I think a little more walking like walking away from the table is what I need.

I've gained a couple of pounds since we have been visiting with my brother and family.

We have bought a few things that we needed at the Bargain Hunt Store.

Nancy and I have enjoyed our visit here as we always do.  But it will end because we will be leaving tomorrow to move on down the road.
Thank you Joan and Nick for a good visit and the food even though it put a little weight on me.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Its warmer

Yesterday was the day to move on down the road southward.  The rain had stopped but it was still gray skies and cold.  The ground was wet and muddy with the leaves sticking to my shoes as I was putting away the blocks that I had to use under the levelers to level up the motorhome.
After unhooking the electric line and hooking up the car we had to stop by the dump station the empty the tanks then we were on our way.

It sure felt good to behind the wheel of the motorhome chugging down the and even more so when we saw some sun shinning.  It was the first time we had seen the sun in a few days.  Also get was getting warmer as we were heading south, I even had to turn the heater down a few clicks.

After arriving at my brother  Nick's and Joan house, I disconnected the car and parked the motorhome in the usual spot in the yard, we went inside leaving the motorhome for later.

After visiting Nick and I went for pizza.  As Nancy and I always do when we visit Nick and Joan we over eat and even on that Joan serve us pie and ice cream.
After having our dessert and more visiting Nancy and I told them we had to go out and set up our motorhome because I had just parked it and we needed to do all the things it takes to make it useable and comfortable.
Once in the motorhome it was leveling it, clear the bed, let the slides out and all the rest of the things to put in place for setting still for a few days.
Then it was time for Nancy and I to relax after a long enjoyable day.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Still cold

Not a good morning to wake up to, being cold and wet.

Seeing the rain that lasted all night and more tree leaves it brought down.

It still did not diminish the color of the tree leaves.

Even though the rain knocked a lot of the leaves fell.

Still plenty of beautiful color around.

There are no swimmers around enjoying the beach.

And no one on the small pier fishing.

There is the forest waiting for the hunters on the campsites here.
The temperatures did not get out of the 49's today.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

A good day

After having a nice sunny day the weather has turned on us.  It started raining sometime during the night and is still raining this morning.

Some of you may be where you are having the start of an arctic blast.  So maybe some of the photos that I took while the sun was shining the other day will ease your closed in feeling.

Here is the gatehouse as you enter the Lake Sinclair Recreation Area.  The house has a place for a person or two to check people in and out, but all the years that we have been stopping here they have a self service pay station on the side of the building.

After entering the area the first road to the right is the dump station and also a fresh water spigot.

Then you come to loop A where there are 5 water and electric sites.

There are two loop C and D where the Camp Host is located.
This is really a nice campground with a swim beach and I can't understand why more people don't use this place.

Our ATT phone and WiFi work good here.

The firepits are nice and deep to sit around and watch the fire for a relaxing evening.

Or as so often as it often happens you may have to keep moving from the smoke.

Autumn in the forest is a good time for the photo buff as there are a thousand shots to be made.

We are fortunate enough to see there is plenty of colors still in these woods.

One tree with different angles and different times of the day is a good photo subject.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

We made it

We started the trip Friday by taking the two lane roads but didn't stay on them for very long.
I got on I-20 and boogied down the road for around 20 miles then it was back on a two lane road.

In less then an hour we were in the town of Eatonton and facing the grand old court house.
Nancy and I love to see these type of old court houses that have character rather than the new ones that are just another square building.

From Eatonton it was another twenty minutes until we were entering the Lake Sinclair National Campground in hopes that we would have one of the five electric sites open.
The first site was taken as well as the second  one , but when we saw the third one was open, there was a "whew" let out as was a smile on our face.

After pulling into the site, setting up I went to the pay station to pay our fee, we then ate our supper and settled in for a little relaxing.

When we woke up this morning it was 33 °.   Now wait a minute that is to cold for us two old people.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day.
