Wilderness Road Campground, Virginia

We made it to Cumberland Gap and they had a few electric sites open so that was good. Even after 4:00 there were people arriving to for sites.

So with Wednesday raining all day long we just set inside relaxing the day away.

Yesterday Nancy and I went to the Family Medic Center in to get a prescription on one of her medication that she came up short on.

We had to drive the ten miles to a Walgreens to have it filled.

Why we were in New Tazewell I check my phone to see if there were any restaurants with good reviews where we could eat.
Sure enough there was one that had outstanding reviews.
It was Kat's Kitchen and it as that good.
The food was not frozen and was fresh made, even the fries were cut from potatoes in the kitchen.
It took a little longer to prepare, but hey it was really fresh.

Here are some photo's inside the park with the colors hanging on.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

A day on the road

We left Jackie's just a little after noon yesterday.

It was a short trip to get on i-64 west until we got to Winchester then a short distance to connect with I-75 south.

The colors were still on the trees but not as bright as they have been.

Just before we got to London, I stopped to fill up at the sa station that I looked up on Gas Buddy.          Yes that is the price $1.69.9, no card,  cash price.

After years of overnighting  Walmart in London, when I called the they said no more rv overnighting.

So got another free overnight spot only a short distance from there.

After being cloudy all  day we ended with this sunset just before dusk.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Trees have peaked

How about a few more of the trees at their peak colors?

But this first, I went to the Tractor Supply to get the 20lb tank filled.  I like to have them fill it because it cost about $8.00 less then picking up one at the stores that have them sitting outside.
They fill them up instead of being 80 percent full.

Nice bright color on these trees on the way into the local Walmart Super Center.

Its a Joy to travel this road when the trees are in color. Its easy to get distracted this time of the year.

We really didn't have to go far to enjoy the colors as the photo above is the trees in Jackies yard.

Nancy and I have been enjoying our time here visiting Jackie.

I've also  time to catch up on doing a few things around the motorhome.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Enjoying the fall weather

Click the photos to enlarge

This past week has gone by really very fast.

I did get out to see some of the trees with their different colors.

We were glad to see there was great improvement on the rocks being blown away from the roads.

I took a drive down what used to be the main road, but is now a side road.

The new roads are built to get you there faster, which is better if you choose so.  I still most of the time like to take the old two lane roads even with the curves they contain.

One of the little picturesque valleys here in this area.

Yesterday we did do the laundry, which takes up most of the day.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great.

Near Morehead, Kentucky

We only went a short distance after departing from Peach and don as we stopped at the Flying J.
I didn't fill up the motor Home I just got enough to take me where I can get the gas close to 30 cent a gallon less.

We were on I-64 after getting gas and having a light lunch.
The colors we simply beautiful and my photos of the trees did them no justice.

The windshield had a haze and took away the true colors we saw.

Nancy and I where moving our heads from one side to the other looking as the scenery went by.

So many different colors.

Rolls of hay in the field, ah the sites Autumn.

We made it safe and are set up for a week or more.
Nancy's sister Jackie and her daughter are going to the Smoky Mountains for the weekend.

So Nancy and I are house sitting this weekend.

Th stopping by and have a great day.

Here in Culloden, West Virginia

We did get away from Mark and Sherry after taking down and I mean down of the motor home.
With the way their driveway is going up to park We had to stack the lumber under the levelers and wheels.

Then arriving at peach and Don's, its only a matter of taking loose the car, backing into place and leveling up.

Connecting the electric, sewer and the water completes all the outside things.

The first morning we had this visitor hanging around just outside of the door.

We are enjoying our time here and still have a couple of days left to visit and have meals together.

Thanks stopping by and have a great day.

Another four visiting days

Since we left florida late this year and also staying in Georgia for a month due to Nancy getting sick our time with family is being cut short.

So the time with Mark and Sherry, well Mark anyway sense Sherry has been with us for a while.  Mark has been cooking us some good tasting meals that Nancy and I have been enjoying.  Enjoying really too much because I've gained a few pounds.  But it is over and we will be leaving tomorrow.

We will now be going south for a change and with the temps being in the 30's its about time.

We will be visiting Nancy's sister Peach and husband Don for a few days.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Here and gone

Well just like the title says, our time here at Stony Fork has ended. .
We had a nice site, but the only time we got out to do snything was Thursday. - That day was to spend time with Nancy's sister Callie that lives in Princeton. We had a really good time visiting her and catching up on some news. Thank you Callie for such a good and fun visit. - Today we will leave heading still north to take Sherry back home then finally heading south. - With the temeratures the last two nights around 33 degrees it is much to cold for Nancy and myself. - What made it seem much colder was I looked up to see what the temperature was at the park we stay the winter in, it was 74 degrees. - Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
