Nick and Joan went to see the twins at the close out of school program.
While they were doing that Nancy and I went down to WalMart to do a little shopping for a few things.

This is were I park beside the driveway when visiting here.
Nick and I put some new bolt in the outside mirror to tighten it up. It has been shaking up and down when going down the highway. Always something to do on the motorhome.

Warner Robins,Ga.

Today was the day to move on. We have been in Valdosta,Ga. for a few days over 3 weeks while Jeremy got better after his back operation. The visit here was very nice with our Sherry(our daughter and our grandson Jeremy, the great grand children and all their families.
I had to go to WalMart to pick up my medicine that I forgot to get yesterday.
We got started around 11:00,which wasn't to bad. We are never in a hurry.

We got up to Tifton around lunch time so we had a breakfast for lunch at the Cracker Barrel.
Eggs, grits hash brown casserole, country ham, biscuiits butter jelly and coffee. We always do this and know we shouldn't.
We got to my brother Nick in Warner Robins,Ga. at 4:oo. We will have a good visit with him and his wife Joan before goin on up the road.
This traveling the roads and visiting is what I like best.

Yesterday was Memorial Day. A day to think of what it means and the men and women that didn't come back from the wars. Those are the real hero's.
We had a family get together and enjoyed a great meal and time together. Nancy and myself are enjoying to many of these meals. We are gaining weight and not walking as we should be.
Tomorrow we will be leaving and going to our next stop for a while. We will be visiting my brother Nick and his wife Joan. It is really nice that we can travel at our own pace to visit and still be in our own home.

We went down to Lake Park yesterday evening. We stopped to look at the antiques in the Farm House Antique Mall. It is located at exit 5 on I-75.
By looking at the front of the store it is bigger than you would think. It is a long way back to the end.

This store has a collection of just about everything you would ever want including old furniture, dolls salt shakers, costume jewelry, clothes you name it chances are they have it.

Need a collection of John Deere tractors get it here. If you stop by here plan on plenty of time to see it all.

Well Nancy did it again! She bought Andy a Thomas train set and he doesn't want to turn it loose. Jeremy is improving each day but it will take a little while before he can do what he wants to. At least his back doesn't hurt anymore so thats the main thing. We are so glad that everything went well for him. I'm sure he can't hardly wait to get back to work.Today makes 19 days we have been here parked in Jeremy and Tiff's yard.He has a nice large yard and I ran an electric plug and a seperate breaker to have us power. That with water I can fill the tank. I do have to go down to the gas station 7 miles to dump the tanks so its no trouble with that part of it.We just have to wait to see when we can get on the road again.

The smoke is still laying heavy on the highways here in Georgia. It has to be bad for the health of the people here breathing the smoke all the time. Most of the time the visability is down less then 1 mile.
We like to sleep with the window open at the head of the bed at night but we can't because of the smell of smoke.

Not much has changed. Just hanging out, goin to WalMart every now and then. Enjoying the little ones and the rest of the family. Nancy is sure spoiling the little ones with a present everytime she goes out anywhere. I guess she is spoiling them? Or are they spoiling her?

Wednesday, May 23, 2007

Sherry kept the little ones last night. She brought them over around noon. They played in their small pool for an hour, ate lunch and are now taking a nap.
Talked to Jeremy he thought he would be coming home today but they are going to discarge him tomorrow. He has to give himself shots in the stomach for a week. He says he has to do that to keep from getting blood clots.
Sherry took the kids and Nancy up to the hospital to see him yesterday evening. They sure do miss their dad.
So we still have not made any plans on when we are leaving here. I imagine it won't be to much longer. We will stay as long as necessary. One thing about being retired and being a fulltimer is that you don't have a schedule.

Monday, May 21, 2007

Sherry called and said Jeremy's operation went good. He was in surgery for 2 1/2 hours to get his back repaired.
Mean time Nancy has had the great grand kids and they are being very good. She let them go in their small pool for a while and they enjoyed that. They are getting used to the water and not being afraid of it. Tiffany is up at the hospital in Tifton with Jeremy so I don't know how long we will have they children. Sherry also is up there. I guess she may come home tomorrow.
I did get to go to WalMart and had the oil changed in the car,so now I won't have to think about that for a while.

Sunday, May 20, 2007

We drive through Valdosta town when we go to Sherry's and I always like to look at the old houses in the old southern town.

There is a large pecan company located in the town. Georgia has a lot of pecan trees and peach trees located around the state.
We had another cook-out yesterday and it was a goodtime day. It was also hot enough for the little ones to get into their little pool.
Today after church we went back over to Mark and Sherry's. Mark cooked some good spaghe tti for dinner.

Just waiting around

We're not doing anything special. Sitting with the great grandkids and having fun with them.

We did meet with Mark and Sherry and had dinner at the Farm House Restaurant in Lake Park. The food was ok but nothing to talk about. We did have a good time as usual with Mark and Sherry.
We also enjoyed a concert on the drums with Andy(the great grandson). Man he can really beat those things.
Jeremy is getting anxious about his upcoming back operation Monday.

Gas Prices

The price of gas sure has gone up since we arrived here last week. It has gone up 16 cents a gallon. I thought for sure that it wasn't going to be so high this year. Well they can think up all the reasons for raising it. The bottom line is that it will be as high as they want it to be.

We are going to be here a little longer then first planned. Jeremy has his back operation Monday so we will hang around a while.

Sitting still for awhile

We are still parked here in Jeremy's yard. I can't get work at on the internet at Jeremy's. I have to go over to Sherry's house to get on the enternet. So chances are I won't be posting everyday. I've got electric and water here and there is a dump station 7 miles where I go to dump the tanks. So this is not that bad. We are enjoying the visit with everyone.

Hot Dogs

The other evening we had everybody over in Jeremy's yard. We had a good outing, grilling the dogs on the grill. Nancy fixed the chili and baked beans in the motorhome. I got our round table out and we set everything for making the hot dogs on it.

I just love hot dogs.I don't think I will ever get tired of eating them. They taste so much better when grilled outside.
The 2 little ones had a ball running and playing. Then Andy got his sponge ball and decided he would play dodge ball. He was throwing it,trying to hit everyone. That kid has a strong arm on him. It was a nice evening sitting around with the family.

Valdosta,Georgia

We made it to Valdosta and we're parked in Jeremy's yard.

I got a chance to change my oil and filter yesterday. Of course I had some help from Andy(gret grandson). Also changed the oil and filter in the generator. Glad to get that finished and won't have to worry about it for a while.
We got Andy and Hannah a small pool and they enjoy getting in it and playing.
We haven't made any plans so we don't know the exact date we will be leaving. When we do leave here we'll be stopping in Warner Robins to visit my brother Nick and his wife Joann.

Leaving Florida

After putting everything away and hooking up the car we got underway yesterday.

After driving 28 miles out to interstate 75 I stopped and filled up the propane. It was a good price. In new Port richey they wanted 3.49 a gallon.
Nancy had to get out of the motorhome also while they filled it up. It took 24 gallons. That was the most ever.

After 3 or 4 hours we entered Georgia. Everything was doing good. We did run into a bunch of thick smoke in northern Florida. The smoke was so thick Nancy and I could taste it in our throats. We got to Jeremys aound 6 oclock. It takes us longer than anyone else because we stop at the rest areas and do our walking.
It sure feel good to be on the road again.

Tomorrow is the day

Yes it is finaly getting here. The day we leave for summer on the road, and it has been a long time coming. Hopeful I can get a lot of pictures on the blog with things that we will be doing and places we pass thru.
Yesterday was hot with a rain storm in the area but not on us. We had a few sprinkles.
We will go to church today and then do a few last minute things in and around the motorhome. We will also get in some walking. We have to keep up the walking.

Saturday, May 05, 2007

We went to the doctor yesterday and it looks like both of us have the cholesterol coming down. It looks like my cardioligist was right when he said the zetia wouldn't keep it down and the vytorin is working. Nancy is doing better with change in meds.
We also got to the flea market to get some batteries and a few other things. We then did our walking in the mall.
This morning I have washed the car and the motorhome and it is only 10:30am. That is good for me and I'm sure glad I'm getting the strenght back that I had lost.
We will be working around the motorhome and getting things put up and cleaned in order to take off monday. I like to do a little at a time so I won't be rushed the last minute.

Friday, May 04, 2007

Yesterday was the laundromat day so nothing else was happening. Of course after doing the laundry we had to stop for a pizza. We do this on the days Nancy does the laundry. This is a real treat for her because she likes pizza so much. I kind of like them myself.
Today we are up a little early getting ready to go to the doctor to see what he has to say about the blood work that we had last week. After the doctor we are going to the flea market,I need to get some of the small cell type batteries. We will look around and see some more things before we leave the flea market. That is as far as what we have planned for the day.
Then it is just another let it happen day.

Thursday, May 03, 2007

Yesterday's weather was much like we have been having. Hot and still no rain. Although the weather report is for a slight chance of rain for the next few days

After our morning walk we again went down to the pool to cool off. The water sure did feel good after being out in the hot sun for a while. The pool looks empty here in this pic,but later on there were 8 or so people that came in to enjoy the pool.
After the time in the pool we got ready and went up to Hudson to have dinner at Sams on the Gulf. We came up to have dinner and watch the sunset while we were having dinner but we finished before the sun really started to set very much. It looked like a few other people had the same idea. So after we ate we left and stayed around the beach side.

The sun started looking nice as it was setting casting its brightness upon the gulf water.

As still setting farther into the horizon a same boat with 4 people passed by on their way for an evening of fishing. It wasn't the best of sunsets that we have seen because of the haze the sun dissapeared before setting into the water. Still a great day and evening. Another day in which the Lord has been good to us. Thank You.

Wednesday, May 02, 2007

After doing our morning walk yesterday,it was so hot that we went down to the pool to cool off.
It was even to hot for that so,we only stayed a couple of hours. We came home ate a little then went down to WalMart for a few things. From there we went to Harbor Freight where I bought a IF thermometer.

From Harbor Freight we took our evening walk down on the river side at New Port Richey. There was a little breeze every now and then so it wasn't to bad.
Well today I take back the thermometer that I bought. For some reason I couldn't get it to work. After that I've got to get me a hair cut. Time is growing short so we've got a few things to do around the motorhome in order to take off monday. Even though you clean everyday there's some things that need clean before hitting the road. Everything is always in the motorhome but you have to place them in a certain place for the journey on the road. The chairs, loungers and table needs to be put away in the outer bays.

May,1

This day always brings back memories. As young boy in 1950 I was 12 years old. Walking home from school a neighbor says to me you better hurry home your dad had an accident at the coal mines. I got home and mom,my brother and a uncle went to the hospital. The accident was bad.
Dad died at 11:00 that night. The other memory was pleasent. That was in the year 2000,the year I retired and started on a fulltime rv journey that gets better and better.

Nancy and I went out walking at the mall yesterday. After looking in the different stores we stopped into the Golden Corral for my birthday dinner. WOW I pigged out again. I had a piece of steak and then another piece of steak and some more food. I topped it off with a slice of carrot cake and ice cream.
Today all that we have planned thus far is to do some walking and going down to the pool for a couple of hours. Another hot 85* day today.
