Old tires

Just a couple of more runs to the Walmart, Winn Dixie for groceries. and the Walgreens for refills on our prescriptions.

Yesterday I did go to George's Tire Service to check on tires for the motor home.  The four back tires need replacing due to the age of them.
I know they have really been on twice as long as they should have, but with them looking still like new ones I've left them on.
Actually the tires are one year older than I thought upon checking the date I had them put on was back in March of 2009.
They were some of those China "Bombs" that some people throw off on.  With the ones that lasted that long that I've had, the same brand will go on again.

After getting back home and close to supper I set up the grill again to grill some sirloin steak tips, onions and peppers.

This is what it looks like on a bed of rice.
I always forget to take a photo when the things are on the grill because I get in a hurry to get it all finished
Anyway it really tasted good on the chicken flavored rice with home made slaw that we had left over from a couple of days ago.
It still seems odd that I can eat steak because its less expensive than ground beef.

Its a changing world that we live in.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

So much rain.

Even though it looks like it might clear up with this little bit of blue, that was it for the day.
Still more rain to come today, they say it is due to the storm in the gulf that is headed up through Louisiana and up through the mid west states.

We were under a tornado watch for three hours yesterday, but nothing in our area happened except more rain.  A little flooding is going on just the south of us but so far all we have is rain and more rain.

I did need to go to the store and get a few things.  Oh my, how the price of ground beef has gone up in the last few days.  What was $3.88 a pound is now $5.79 a pound, that is a big jump in price.

Well it just started raining much more and according to the weather report it will be all day long.
I really like a sunny day so much better, but then I guess I would be complaining about the heat.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

The waiting game

The right eye is still a little bruised up from the surgery.  I have no idea why the left eye went good while the right eye looked like I was in a battle of some kind, but I was told the sometimes it happens.

The temperatures have been in the 90's for the last couple of days with the forecast of rain that has moved into the area at times. We've even had some thunderstorms along the way.

Of course there are more nice days that you can get out to enjoy the day and smell the flowers.
As long as you make sure the are no bees to sting your nose.

I even got the chance to grill up two nice and tender cube steaks.  I was surprised how tender they were.

I found this photo still in the camera of one of the houses out in the swamps of the back waters of the gulf.  These houses are old and people used to live in them and still yet sometimes they do for short time fishing.

We still have no idea how long we will be staying here as I have an appointment with the  ophthalmologist June, 26.  Then if everything is ok I will have them order new glasses.
So it looks like sometimes in July we will be leaving,  maybe.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

doing better

Well finally got back to walking after a couple of weeks with the cataract surgeries.
I'm here to tell you it does not take long for a person to get back out of shape.

The weather has warm up a bit very much that for the past few nights we have been sleeping with the window at our head open and the fantastic fan on high speed.

I have been trying to beat the sunrise getting up and out the door by 6:30 am of the morning to walk before it get too hot.
It has helped but I'm still soaked in sweat by the time I get back home.

The flowers along the way make for an enjoyable walk.

There are different types of flowers every day or so to look at.

The price of oil has gone up a little so the gas has made a big move up in the last week or so.
The price jumped from $1.68 to $1.85 but we all knew that would happen didn't we.

The right eye that was blackened from the surgery is much better but still some what black.

Thanks for stopping byand have a great day.

Thank You Vets

Please do not forget our Veterans that have given so much of their lives so we can live our great lives.
When you see these vets wearing their caps to show that they were in service to our country, thank them.

Yesterday morning started our very good with Nancy serving me a couple of eggs, that I added some sweet onions, tomato slices, a nice sausage biscuit and some hash brown potatoes and of course a cup of coffee.
With a breakfast like that the day had to be good.

The right eye that didn't look so good after surgery is slowly coming along fine.

As a matter of fact I finally felt good enough to grill up some sirloin tips with green bell peppers and onions,  That with potatoes and an ear of corn tasted mighty fine, man did I eat good yesterday.

I've heard all the news about all the stores that are making sure everything is cleaned good because of the virus.
But, this Walmart looks like they need more checking since there was no cleaning supplies to wipe down the shopping carts?
Maybe they had not got around to restock it yet.

Nancy is going to keep feeding me good today, as she said she was going to have beef roast for our meal.
I guess I will have to make her happy about the beef roast and take an extra helping of it.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

The other eye

Over the weekend I made some macaroni salad because I knew I would be out of commission for a couple of days with my eye surgery.
Well the weekend went fast and so did the macaroni salad.

I also did three loads of laundry just in case the results of the surgery would have me laid up longer than I thought.

I thought my left eye was a rough procedure, but that was a piece of cake as you can see.
By the way the photo in the other blog also showed my right eye but some how my phone camera was flipped and I did not notice it.
Yes it is as sore as it looks but the doctor said it was coming along just fine.

Poor Nancy can't stand to look me in the eye now.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

The cataract surgery

Monday at 9:15 am my ride to the Florida Eye Institute where the ophthalmologist is to perform the cataract surgery.
The driver pulled up to the door where someone came out to check me in before I was allowed to go in while wearing a face mask.  Of course the waiting room had social distancing seating.

It wasn't long before going in and getting prepped then I was out like a light.  I don't know what they had but I've never been put to sleep so fast in my  life.
Even after the surgery was over and upon awakening I don't remember a thing.  As a matter of fact I don't remember getting into the car to ride back home.  The first ting I remember is opening the door to the motorhome, that is a scary feeling.

Yesterday I went in to get checked to see how everything was with the eye.  It seems as though the  cornea of the eye is swollen, but the doc said it would be ok in a few days.  I hope so because the vision out of that eye right now is like looking through a fog.
I got three different eye drops to take every two hours.

Anyway the  ophthalmologist is going to do the right eye this coming Monday, "the fun never stops.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Happy Mothers Day

I want to wish all you ladies out there a Happy Mother's Day.   These flowers are for you.
May this be the best day for you.

Nothing new here just the same with the walking and going to the store when necessary.
I think we all are going to have to get use to the new way of living.
It will be more tough on some than others who can not adjust so easy.

If you like more flowers these are for you.

Oh, you do not like the yellow flowers, will these be better?

Or a mixture of a couple of colors.

Oh yeah, its a nice day to go fishing!

You don't need a large boat to be out on the water.  Just a kayak out in the marshes will do.

It was a beautiful day yesterday with the sunshine and the temps in the low 80's.

Well, they finally called me yesterday to tell me they have the go ahead to start with my cataract surgery.  So early tomorrow they will do my left eye and maybe in a week or two it will be the right eye.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Cloudy all day

Well yesterday morning  was all blue skies but that gave way to clouds for today.
Not bad though because it looked nice and did not rain.
We had much wind all night long.

Looked up and thought this would make a nice shot.
There were a few people going out to fish in some smaller boats even though I would say the gulf waters were choppy today.

Different shades of yellow flowers along the walk.

Even some as I would call them red orange flowers.

Field of daisys.

The price of gas here in Hudson, Florida. It hasn't gone down in about three weeks so I guess this is the lowest it will be here.
Its no wonder though in Florida the federal and state tax is 83¢ a gallon.
While in Georgia the tax is 66¢ a gallon.

So if you are coming through Georgia on your way to Florida, you need to stop and fill up while in Georgia.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Out and about

Another night with the temperature close to the 70 mark.
We slept with the window open over our heads and also had the fantastic fan on low speed so we had a nice breeze coming in all night long.

Starting my walk with the sun already coming up nice and bright.
The sky was all blue telling us it would be a beautiful day.

Looks like a good day  for the Sun West Park but I don't think it is opened up yet.
Just look at that blue sky, no wonder everyone wants to be out and about.

One of the boats I saw this morning headed out to the gulf waters.  Some with the fishing rods sticking out of the back of the boats.
And for sure a few of the boats will just be out on the water for a joy ride this day.

People just want to get out, I hope its not to soon for that yet.

Thanks for stopping by and do have a great day.

Things I see

I had a good start walking this morning and by the time I was finished I had walked 3 1/4 miles.
I'm sure I may get a little more walking in.

Sometimes the walking takes me a little farther down a side street just so I can see something different.

Every few days there may be different flowers blooming out.  Or maybe different people out walking or riding their bicycle.

Sometimes you just got to lay down to sleep.
This fella was sleeping on the sidewalk in front of the RaceTrac filling station.
He was sound asleep as I walked by him.

Thanks for stopping by and do have a great day.
