Some vinyl planks down.

The temperatures have sure been mighty low for us this season.  The cold weather has hung on the longest this year than it has ever.  That is the most talked about subject here in Florida.
We have had long stretches of  50's in the day time  and 40's-30's night time.

I have been busy, or should I say enjoying watching college basketball games.  An old fella has to take breaks from working, doesn't he.

But I'm still working on the floors and walls.

This is the slide out with the new Allure vinyl planks installed.  I hope it will not be very long until the rest of the floor will be covered.
The planks are really very good to work with and looks good when put down.  You just have to make sure you start out getting a nice straight line .

It is taking longer than I thought it would because I have to move things around and put them back as many as four or more times.

Upon taking up the old carpet from around the bed that's in the slide out I discovered it has been leaking and will need to put new flooring in.

I don't think they build unit's with the slide out that doesn't leak when it rains.
I know some of you are saying "my slide out does not leak.   Just wait long enough it will.

Doctors and games

Wow, it seems like a lot of people are thinking that the teams that won in the NFL playoff games were the wrong ones.  I watched both games and as usual the officiating crew did blow a few calls.

Well anyway life must go on.

Nancy did finally saw her Nephrologist  and the report on her blood work was not what she wanted to hear. Her numbers had fallen from the last time and also her doctor didn't like the swelling with the fluid.  So she told Nancy to take the fluid pills every day up from every other day.

About a week ago I ordered a HD King Jack from Amazon to replace the old house top antenna.
The Jack antenna attaches were the old one comes off so I can raise and lower it.
Like advertised it does pick up more channels and we are satisfied with it.

Last few days

Nancy had her blood drawn on Wednesday, so we thought we would just go ahead and have our early supper out
She asked where I would like to eat, so I said I haven't had Chinese food for a while.  With that choice we were off to Royal Buffet, no luck there since they were still closed for remodeling.

The next one we thought of was a little restaurant we would try place and it was on the way back home.
Well we struck out again because when got there it was closed because they only stay open until three o'clock. (strike two)
I said to Nancy I know of another place I have been wanting to go to.
Well when we got there was a sign on the door the said   "Closed today"  (strike three).
With that we ended up going back home to eat.

Friday evening Nancy got a call from her nephrologist that she would have to be at the LabCorp office to have her blood drawn again.
It seem like someone along the line had not got all the information on the previous blood that was needed.
It was back to LabCorp again yesterday to have her blood drawn again which was no fun for Nancy.

But I did get to watch my college basketball games yesterday so the whole day was not lost.

Moving slow

Well the carpet is all gone from the dining  area.  While the bench seats and the sofa was out I finished priming the walls, so the next step will be the choice of color that we have picked.
I hope it will take one coat but you never know until you have put it on and let dry.

Nancy was suppose to have some blood drawn yesterday but LabCorp closed at 3:00 and not at 5:00 as we thought so it will be another trip today.
This is for her kidney doctor to look and see how her kidney are doing.

Some of you have suggested  that Nancy not drink the faucet water and drink bottled water instead.
Well we have been drinking the bottled water from the year 2000 when we started this full time life style.

Nancy is always reading up on some of the things that might help her that she will try.

Its got to be done

With some doctor appointments for Nancy and the holidays its been tough trying to do the work on the walls and floors of the motor home.

I did get half of the carpet taken up in the dining table area Monday then yesterday it was back to the doctor to check on Nancy's lab work.
She has been in a lot more pain the last few weeks and the lab work report didn't show anything different so all the pain is coming from her kidneys.

It will be back to pulling up the carpet in the dining area today.  If it was just pulling the carpet up it would not be so bad.  But first the bench seat needs to be moved out, then after the carpet is removed every half an inch along the wall is not one but at least three staples to be removed. 
Someone must be getting paid by how many staples they use up.

Our Little Celebration

Nancy  was feeling fairly good Monday so we went to Spring Hill to the Cody's Road House Restaurant for our Anniversary dinner.  We have been here before and really enjoy the food with the bottomless big bowl of salad that is always so fresh,

I just about forgot to take a photo of our meal.  I had the 10 oz top sirloin with fries.

While Nancy had the 10 oz top sirloin ith the mixed vegetables of the day.

We did take our time eating and having a little time out to ourselves.

After getting back home we started putting the mixings together for cabbage rolls. We have had cabbage rolls for our New Years Day for a life time and they tasted good as usual.

We stayed up to watch the big celebration of the Ball Dropping on the ABC Network.

62 years

Yeah, 62 years is a long time, but these years have passed fast.

Today is Nancy and my Anniversary of marriage.  To think at that time people said we were too young and that it would not work.  I guess after this many years it is safe to say they were wrong.

We didn't have a large fancy wedding.   Our wedding day consisted of going down to the county court house, looking up the county court clerk who performed the marriage.  We had one person that was Nancy's brother in law as a witness.  After the clerk married us I gave him $5.00 and that was it.
I will have to say that was the best $5,00 I have ever spent.

Our New Year Eve celebration will be the same it has been through the years with a quite time staying home just the two of us.

Long day

Nancy felt like getting out yesterday she needed a haircut so I think that was the reason.

So she went to Great Clips up in Spring Hill.  I sat in the car until she was finished with her haircut.
Then from there we went to Cracker Barrel to eat and used the gift card that we received for Christmas.  Of course we chose to eat breakfast as we do most of the time.

Then I dropped Nancy off at Walmart while I went to check on a few items at Harbor Freight with no luck in finding anything.
From there I went across the street to Rural King to by the brand of potato chips that they sale.

I guess I took longer than I thought because after getting back to Walmart Nancy had all of her shopping only for a few more items.  And the poor lady was really tired and ready to go back home.
By the time we did get home, unloaded the things she bought it was in the dark of day.

After putting everything away it was time to fall into our usual routine of watching tv and our evening computer time.

Today I will watch a couple of basketball games folowed by a couple of football games.

Merry Christmas To All

Yes, to all my blog reader's a very Merry Christmas to you and your love ones.
I'm so glad you took the time to visit my.

Nothing new on this end, we will spend a quiet and relaxing day around the house.
It seems as though we are doing more and more times like this.  We are at the age now that we can remember when we were young we always wondered why the old people had to sit around most of the time.

Nancy is going to put together a nice beef stew in the Instant Pot today for us to eat.
I will enjoy eating that and watching tv and napping.

I will not be doing anything in the house until the holidays are over.  With having to move things out in the middle of the floor and leaving them a few days until the space is finished would be hard to get round.

All in a day

Sorry folks but when I say things are going slow I mean like real slow.  Nancy and I both expected this project would be on the slow side and I told her it might take the winter season until its finished.

So, in the mean time to the rest of the story is going to the store, checking mail, taking out garbage to the dumpsters and all the rest of the normal things in life.

I made a trip up to Rural King which is in Spring Hill to buy some of their of potato chips, but would you know it?  You guessed it, they were sold out.
Since I tried  the chips they have become my favorite ones to eat.  The chips are cooked somewhere between kettle cooked and regular chips with a real good taste.  And another good part is you get a big bag for $1.99 instead of the $4.29 a bag the other brands are.

I have been putting off buying lettuce because the price was not right (for me).
Winn Dixie had the price of $2.49 a head, Walmart at $1.68.  So I went to Save A Lot while it was on the way and the had the price of $1.19 and I bought it at that price.

Yesterday I raise our patio awning, because of the weather report of an incoming storm with high winds.  I'm glad I did because it poured the rain all night and the wind is supposed to come later on in the day.  There are several tornado warnings for the counties south of us.

I moved the dinette booth back out and primed the walls then put it back in.  I will still have to do that maybe three or four more times with the final coat of paint and the flooring.  All the things to do over and over again in order to use while working on this project.

Work days and Rest days

Going to the store sometimes seem like an every day occurrence.  At least the grocery store is only a couple of miles down the road.

But all those trips knock me out of working on the motor home.  Which is taking longer than I had planned it would.
The priming of the walls is coming along though.  With having to take down the window blinds and putting them back up until its time to put the coat of paint on takes up time.
And of course now its coming to do that to the dinette with the table and seats.  Then the sofa with all the things we have stored under it.
Doing all of this with living full time in the motor home is quite a chore.
Of course we knew it would take time in knowing how quick I tire out these days.

Today it will be college basketball games where I will be watching them on the tv.
