John Chesnut Park

Yesterday we went down to John Chesnut Park.  This is the first time we have been back to the park in several years and it was good to be back because this is one of our favorite parks.

When we got on the bridge to go over to the picnic area we almost always see an alligator and yesterday was no exception.  We saw this medium size alligator.

also this small one of two that were in this location at the bridge.

Of course there are squirrels hanging around waiting to be fed.  There are signs up that say to not feed the animals but people always feed the squirrels.

We walked out on the pier to watch the boaters as they were going up and down Tarpon Lake enjoying the sunshine and the cool breeze of the lake.

Some yellow flowers were in bloom on the on the small trees.

A couple of white ibis digging in the sand.

One of a couple of dear lying on the ground in the shade trying to keep cool.

The white egret came flying in to see what was going on.

The small alligator came out of the water to get in the sun for a while.

After enjoying our time at the park and glad we saw some of the wildlife we stopped in at the Steak and Shake Restaurant to have burger and fries along with a cold coke that really hit the right spot.

This really felt mighty good and was the second time this week that we were able to get out and walk.
The old bones were sore this morning as we got out of bed.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
