Brooker Creek Preserve

Yesterday was another good walking day for us,that found us at the Brooker Creek Preserve.
The Evironmental Education Center is only open Thursday-Saturday,but the hiking trails are open all week.
So with the trails open we started our hike.
The trail starts with a boardwalk over the swamp that is covering the land.
Theres quit a bit of water around.
Looks like the tree roots try to stay out of the water, but eventually have to go into the ground.
We saw some fish jumping in the water. They have plenty of bugs to eat.
This Anhinga was drying its wings and paid no attention to the fish.
We did see a few wild flowers on the trail.
The trails are good and wide after you get off the boardwalk. Most of the trials have a good base and just very few with the loose sand, which makes it good for walking.
The trail we took came out at the parking lot. It has been about four years since we were here and we could see a lot of improvement in the trails. The only other things is that after you get into the trail there are no benches for sitting and resting. We will be coming back again to walk more.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
