Surgery Complete

Saturday was my day once again to watch the College Basket Ball games.

Nancy put together a really really delicious beef roast that she cooked in the Instant Pot Pressure Cooker.  Did I mention that it was really good?
I mean it doesn't get much better that that, watching what you like on the tv and having a really good shove it down the throat meal.

Sunday was a slow day of being on the computers watching a little tv and finishing up the leftover beef roast.

Yesterday I got up early to be at the hospital for my rotator cuff surgery.
Our friend Dick Barker came over to take me to the hospital and also wait to bring me back home.
Thanks Dick I can't thank you enough.

It seems as though when the surgeon looked in at the rotator cuff he also saw the my bicep was also torn so he repaired that.  They did the  interscalene brachial plexus block on me that numbed from the shoulder all the way out to the finger tips.  It is now just after 12:00 and two of the fingers are still numb.

So today there will not be much going on around this place.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Philippe Park to walk

Yesterday was a nice day for Nancy and me.  Even though Nancy had her usual tired feeling she said she did feel like getting out.  So we went to Safety harbor to the First Quality Sausage house where I bought a few items

From there we went to the Philippe Park by the bay to do a little walking.

It was quite windy and cool as you can tell by the way the waves were hitting the sea wall.
The bay is usually calm but not today.

We like to come here to walk as it is one of our many favorite places.

We like many of the large trees in the park.

We are not the only one that like the trees.  I think these two people were waiting for the sun to be at the right angle to get the photo they were wanting.

It was time for us to eat after our walking so we chose Poblano's Mexican Grill for this day to have our meal.

Pulling into the parking lot we saw this Double Decker Bus.

After finishing our meal it was time to head home.
On the way home I got a call which Nancy answered since I will not talk on the phone while driving.

It was the Hospital telling me that I'm suppose to be there 7:15 Monday morning for surgery.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Arthritis

I went to see the orthopedic physician yesterday.  He said looking at the MRI cd it just confirmed what he had thought, the shoulder had spurs and also showed arthritis on the bone.
So he will go in and shave off the ball joint, with that being done I should feel much better after it heals up.
The hospital will call me some time today to let me know what time I'm supposed to be there on Monday.

Today Nancy and I are going down to Palm Harbor to the First Quality Sausage House to buy a few Hungarian Meats and also some different spices.
If we have time we may take a little walk  around the park beside the bay.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Government Shut-Down

Did it surprise that the Government Shut-Down didn't last very long.  That is something that never did bother me in knowing that neither side would want to take the blame for a shut down.
If you have lived long enough you will know that both parties come to some kind of solution.

I went to the hospital yesterday to get all the paper work filled out for my shoulder surgery this coming Monday.  I had my blood drawn  so they could do the work up on it.  Also had to have another EKG even though I had one last month and it seems since its been over thirty days they had to have another one. The EKG again showed the abnormal heart beat that they told me was a slow heart rate.  The normal heart beat is 80 and mine is always 60 and some times even slower.
But I guess as long as it is beating I'm ok with that.
I sure will be glad when this is all finished up and I can get back to my all most normal self.
It didn't take long to get finished in the hospital so on the way home I stopped to get Nancy and myself an egg biscuit at the Burger King Restaurant and it sure tasted good.

Nancy wants to go to Great Clips to get a haircut today and I want to go to the Cricket Store to see what deals that they have on new plans for two phones.  I have had an old flip phone for two years which has work out good but now I find myself wanting a  Smart Phone.
The phone I have is with Pure Talk with 280 minutes a month that rolls over each month saving the minutes I don't use and its only $10.00 a month.
The last time I checked to see how many minutes I have totaled at 80 hours.  I really don't use the phone very much.  I guess I could just send up smoke signals but nobody would know that I was saying and I don't really know what I was sending up since I don't do smoke signals.

OK now that I have everyone all mixed up I had better get off of here.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Well I've watched College Basketball Games and I've watched NFL Football Playoff Games so I've had a busy weekend and I have enjoyed it all.

This morning I went to the hospital to do all the paper work needed for my shoulder surgery next Monday the 29th. So now the only thing before going in to the hospital the Surgeon want to see me in his office the Friday to go over everything.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

East Coast Weather

Everyone is talking about the cold weather.  All the states and Florid is not exempt from it either.
Our night time temperatures for the last three nights have been in the low 30s.
All I can say folks is stay as warm as you can.

Yesterday I went to the Cardiologist to get the Cardiac Clearance Test for my Orthopedic Surgeon to go ahead to do the surgery on my shoulder.
About all was the I had an EKG, my blood pressure was taken and the doctor listen to my heart.
The EKG showed the abnormal heart beat that I've had for as long as I remember.  So the doctor said I was good to go.

So now its time to make sure I've got everything lined up as far as my chores are worked up until after I'm healed a little bit.  Of course I'm planning on still doing things with the right side until then.
You know a fella can't let a little thing like that plum stop him.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Having surgery not so simple

As the heading of the post my having surgery is not so simple, at least not for me.
The reason is that I have had two heart attacks and the first one was a complete cardiac arrest I have to have complete clearance from the Cardiologist before anything is done.
Like yesterday I had an MRI which first require me to get information on what type of stents that was put in at the time of the heart attacks.  With that information they could go ahead and run me through the MRI.

Also the   Orthopedic Surgeon  has to get the ok from the Cardiologist that my heart will be alright to have surgery.
I thought once again that all the information was in but yesterday I got a call from the Cardiologist to come in today.  I have to have a Cardiac Clearance Test.

So yesterday after the MRI was complete Nancy and I had dinner at the Greek City Cafe.
This restaurant was different in the when you enter go up to the register where they have the  menu's and place your order then proceed to a table.  When the food was ready the cashier would bring it to your table.
The food was good and tasty with a fair price.

It was cold and windy all day yesterday.
But the shocker came this morning that we could not believe it was 23°,  now come on that is way to cold for Florida.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Good news and other

I had an appointment with the Orthopedic Surgeon and I will have to have rotator cuff surgery on my left shoulder, which is scheduled for the 29th of this month.
So I will have to line up things that will have to be completed because I will be out of commission for a short time.  What will be tough is that Nancy doesn't drive and we will not be able to go to the store for a few days.
Also I'm not suppose to drive home after surgery so we will see how that plays out.

On a good note Nancy had an appointment yesterday with her Nephrologist that her numbers have come up and she went from being 4th stage kidney failure to 3B stage,  Nancy was really tickled with that news because she really does watch what she eats.

Other than that and the college basketball team I watch and want to win has lost two games in a roll after winning fifteen in a roll was a real let down.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Just hanging around

Every day living just like everyone is doing.

As full timers some people think that our lives are different than the ones that live in a house with a foundation.  That those of us are always rolling down the road every day.  Not so, sometimes we are in one place for a while.  Be it a place we like or where we want to be during the winter months.

But the full timers have a wonder lust that is within us that needs  quenching with traveling to see what's ahead on the road or over the next mountain.
The full timers are hard to explain at times and everyone is not cut out to be these people.
Its kind of like the people in the old west with their covered wagons always searching.

Thursday and Friday we still were eating the left over Home made chicken soup with the days of doing our normal chores.

Saturday is always the day that I like because that is the day the college basketball games come on.
My day was full with the games and Nancy also made her very good spaghetti that I over ate.
She made plenty of it that I will be eating spaghetti today.

Thank for stopping by and have a great day.

Nice days

The weather here has changed, now the day time temperatures  close to 80 while the night time temperature is in the high 60's.

So yesterday we did some inside cleaning that was over due.  Then I was outside redoing the patio awning that the wind had been flapping around. Now it is nice a snug again.

With such a nice day I dug a sirloin steak out of the freezer to put on the grill.
Love that new residential refrigerator with the much larger freezer.

The sirloin steak come out nice and tasty.   That with the sides that Nancy going on the stove.
So steak, baked potato, rice,  Italian cut green bean and Italian bread made for a very good meal.

I have an appointment today with the orthopedic surgeon because my shoulder is still hurting.
The cortisone injection he gave me was good for three weeks but is now hurting again.
So we will see what to do now, he did maybe an MRI if the cortisone injection did not last.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Laundry day and more

Yesterday day after having breakfast then getting ready it was time to do a load of laundry.

The next thing was to go to Rural King to buy three bags of potato chips that I like.
They are the only store that sales the Classic Brand Kitchen Cooked Potato Chip.
Also the price on the bag is $3.99 but Rural King sales them for $1.99 a bag.
I also bought a case of water for $1.99 this is the best price to be found in the area.

Then it was to Harbor Freight for an item that I needed but they didn't have it.

Next was Winn Dixie for a few groceries that we needed.

From there it was a stop at Walmart to get a few things I couldn't find in Winn Dixie.
Then it was finally time to head home to have supper that was a little past time for it.

After supper I had a short nap so I would be able to sit up to watch the College Playoff Football Game.
A lot of joy and a lot of tears came at the end of the game.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
