56 years

WOW,fifty-six years ago today Nancy and I at 18 and 17 years of age went to the Mingo county court house and got married. we went into the county clerks office and told him we wanted to get married. He said it would be $5.00. Not a big fancy wedding but a marriage that has lasted thru the rough and good times. We had people that told us it wouldn't last being married that young. It may not,but we will keep working at it.
We will go out some place later on and have a nice dinner. Then as we always do this evening we will be making cabbage rolls for tomorrows meal.
Saturday I watched a football and basketball game and lost both of them. I won't tell you which teams,but let you know I'm from West Virginia and always liked Kentucky Wildcat basketball,enough said.
How about you will you be doing the same this New Years Eve?

Everyday chores

Here it is saturday again. Man the days sure go by fast these days.
This means another day of college basketball and also maybe some bowl games of football.
I always kid Nancy that I have the chores of feeding my animals and attending to the crops.

As far as feeding animals,they are the squirrels and birds that come to the feeder during the day. The crops are four tomato plants that I have. I hope I get a few tomates off of them before the cold weather kills out the plants.
The crops are easier to attend to than when we lived in West Virginia. I had 25 tomato plants,12 green pepper plants plus the green onions,potatoes,cabbage and lettuce. How about you do you still have a small garden?  I know you don't now but in the summertime.

Rain and Post office

Well are you over Christmas or is it still lingering on?  Like now you may have to exchange that gift for the right size or for something all together different. Maybe go to the store and get all those things that are on a special discount. 
I had to get out and mail a couple of packages yesterday.

I knew we were to have a bad storm by watching morning weather report. As I was getting closer to the post office I could see the black clouds moving in and hoping I would make it before the rain hit.

As it happened the rain came before I got to the post office. Not to worry though we always have more than enough umbrellas handy. In the car at the house umbrellas everywhere. In fact we bought enough umbrellas incase someone visting us and it starts to rain when they are leaving we tell them to take an umbrella. So with one in hand off I went into the post office. One good thing is with a heavy rain there was no one in line.
We are having cold weather here today with the temp 42 this morning and only 63 for the day. Looks like another good day to catch up on the inside chores.

Shopping

Look out Christmas is about upon us. Just a few more days of watching all those commercials that will save you money if you buy at their store. Hey you think they would take a check on that bank in Nigeria where I have millions of dollars waiting on me?  The best way to spend Christmas is with family if you possibly can. Sometimes that can;t happen when the children and grand children are spread out over the country. But hey,we have all those momories of past christmas right?
Speaking of cold weather I think it doesn't matter where you are in the good old USA that you are kind of chilly today.  Our temperature this morning was 47. Some of you are way colder.
Today looks really good for staying in and watching the college basketball games. That is after my saturday big breakfast.
Thanks to all who have been wishing for me to get better. I think I'm finally and slowly on the mend. Its been a rough two weeks for me.

Doctor Doctor

Man the title to the post says it all. Very boring but thats what we have been doing. We have never been down for this long,of course we have never been this old before either.
The new medicine that the doctor prescribe me is making me feel better but not completely. So maybe it will. Nancy went to see the doctor monday,and you guessed it. Different medicine for her. Her blood pressure just won't come down no matter what the try. All the test and scans she had shows nothing so it looks like they are stumped.  I guess thats why they say a doctor practices medicine.
We did get out for a couple of hours yesterday to walk and loaf in Kmart.  Didn't buy anything just looked around and talked about how much fun it use to be buying Christmas presents when our kids were small.
Yeah we are getting older.

Doctor again

Well I'm feeling about the same as I have all week. I took all of the medicine that the docotr prescribedso yesterday morning it was back to see the doc.

No the photo isn't blurry. Thats the fog that we had on ridge road as I started out. The Gulf coast Medical Center where we see our doctor is open seven days a week. Although our doctor is only in 5 days a week there is a doctor there.

Turning off ridge road onto route 19 was more of the fog.
Getting in to see the doctor and getting checked he said I had fluid in the ears and infection in the throat. Chest xray showed lungs clear. So it was different and more medicine. One bunch of pills are taken 5 times a day and the other bottle of pills twice a day.
I sure hope this dose of pills do what they are suppose to.

Still the same

Just a short one today as I really don't feel like doing much of anything.
I did see the doctor and it looks as though I have a bad sinus infection.
I've been taking antibiotics and they are not doing much. My throat swells so much my adams apple doesn't want to move. So I've been drinking water all night long to keep it moving. I sure hope I can get some sleep tonight.

Feeling ill

I could say this past weekend was like all the others,but that wasn't the case.
I woke up saturday morning with a head cold and sore throat. I just felt plain miserable the whole weekend and not any better today. I didn't even feel like having my big saturday breakfast. Tried watching the ballgames,couldn't concentrate on them enough to really get intrested in them. So maybe I'll feel better in a couple of days.
Sorry to post with my problems. 
Nancy had to go and get blood drawn this morning and will be seeing the doctor again next monday.

A little walking

 

Yesterday we were going to do a little walking at the  Werner-Boyce Salt Springs State Park. This is a new park in the Florida park system. It is very small and not completed,so small they only have seven parking places. That was a problem for us because we didn't have a spot to park in.
So we went to the Port Richey Waterfront Park to do the walking. This is also a small park they are upgrading with plenty of parking.

Several people were out on the pier trying their luck at catching fish from the bay.

Some nice flower blooms on the bushes. We walked out on the pier and then out and around to the boat launch. Theres always a nice cool breeze here and felt good on this sunny day.

Pearl Harbor Day

Let us not forget that day in 1941. Many people lost their lives in the attack. I don't actually remember the day as I was only 3 at the time but I do remember World War II.
We went to the John Chesnut Park yesterday to do dome walking.
This to us is so much better than in the RV Park. We like to get out and see the wildlife.

We saw this small gator floating with its head sticking out of the water. If you look close you can see the gators body hanging straight down.

Tarpon Lake was nice and smooth for the day.

Couple of egrets feeding on the shore line.

This anhinga drying its wings after swimming in and under the water.

Here are two of the five deer we saw out feeding.
We had a nice day that wasn't very hot to do our walking.
