Long Day

We did leave Warner Robins yesterday after filling up the motorhome.  I got gas at the Kroger with the Kroger card 3 cent a gallon off that made it $3.30 a gallon.  I was on empty so the cost was $240.00 "OUCH".  that will get me to Sunset Beach and some to spare.  After traveling the 2 lane back roads.

Traveling through the small towns is what I like to do.  The day was a tiresome day in that the lady on the gps couldn't find the restaurant that we were wanting to have dinner.  We ended up eating at the Golden Corral in Sumter,South Carolina.  This resterauant is one will will put on our not to do list again.  We spent a good restful night parked in the Walmart parking lot.  We have just over 100 miles to travel today so we will take our time.

Warner Robins

We got a late start yesterday because Sherry was wanting to do some more visiting before she left Valdosta.  We had a good trip up I-75.  I was going to buy me enough gas to get me to Warner Robins. When I checked on Gasbuddy the fuel was some what cheaper.  I had a little over 1/4 tank so I thought I would just wait and get the fuel on up the road.  Bad idea, fuel was 3.47 in Valdosta and shortly north of there it jumped to 3.58.  So I watched the fuel gauge and it seemed to have gotten stuck on 1/4. Good I thought, all of a sudden the motorhome has decided not to use any fuel.  I did make it all the way to Warner Robins without running out. Good indeed the price of regular unleaded is 3.33 here. So without any more wars breaking out, pipe lines being destroyed or oil tankers sinking the price tomorrow will still be the same when I fill the motorhome up.
We will be staying with my brother Nick and the family and leaving tomorrow.

Wedding

Yesterday was a busy day, taking picture, meeting everyone for the first time. We were at the church from 1:30pm until 5:00pm. The wedding was nice with the bride and groom saying their individual vows and getting teary eyed in the process.
After the ceremony came my favorite part, the refreshments.  There was plenty to go around a couple of times.  Punch, nuts, chex mix, great meat balls in delicious sauce, cheese, crackers, cake and cheese cake, maybe more that I have forgotten.
All in all a very nice day.
On the road again today to Warner Robins to see brother Nick.

Hot,Hot

We did get out to go to Walmart yesterday for a few groceries. It has been close to 97°

Each day we have been here.  One day it broke the record for the hotest day with a 103°.
Today is the big day.  This is the day of our grandson's wedding.  Then tomorrow we will be on the road again.

Hot days

Our grandson Jeremy having fun with son Andy during our cook-out monday.  We had a nice time and I was the grill cook for the day grilling the hamburgers and hot dogs.
Yesterday was the day for getting our medicines filled and as sometimes the way it happens we had trouble with the transfers and insurance.  When we went to pick up the medicine they had run some of them through without the insurance so we had to tell them it was all on the insurance. So after around three hours everything was straightened out.  After getting back from Walmart I changed the oil and filter in the car.  I usually get the oil changed at Walmart but decided to do it myself this time.
We have no plans today and with the temps going to be close to 95° we will spend most of the day inside under the aircinditioner.
Stay cool and have a nice day.

Thank you Veterans

Its not about the cook-outs or going to the beach that makes Memorial Day it about the Veterans that gave their lives so we can have the many opportunities that we have today in our country.
Like many today we have a cook-out planned. We hadn't planned on it but when our great-grandson asked, how can you turn him down.
Nancy and I are getting a little much needed rest so we can enoy our visit here.
Hope everyone enjoys their time with family and friends today.

On the road

I tried to post yesterday but for some reaon Blogger wouldn't let me.  Blogger goes crazy every now and then.
Well anyway we finally got on the road yesterday and stopped at the Walmart in Live oak,Florida for an overnight stay.  I didn't drive many miles but for some reason I got extremely tired.  Maybe all the work in preparing to leave caught up with me.

Of course I didn't take the interstate, because I enjoy the scenery of the small roads even though it takes longer.  Whats the hurry I've got all summer.  The photo above is a fire tower, which you seldom see anymore when you are traveling.
Now will you look at that. Hay rolled up on a hillside. If I didn't know better I would have thought I was up in Kentucky.
We had a nice slow paced traveling day yesterday.

Beach Day

Yesterday we took a little time out from getting things in the house and motohome ready.    Sherry was wanting to go to the beach so we went down to Fred howard Park in Tarpon Springs, this a nice small beach.  We haven't been there in a while. I read in the paper a while back that they were going to charge $5.00 to park and enjoy the beach, but we didn't see any signs or places that they are charging the $5.00.   We had a good day and got plenty of sun on ourselves.

Slow Posting

Yes I'm slow posting these days because I don't want to bore you with the same old stuff of how we are cleaning and getting the motorhome ready for the summer travels.
Nancy did talk me into buying a new gps.  I bought the Garmin 1350LMT and have been setting it up. I like to put the POI on a SD card so I can find the different things on the road. I was having a time getting the card to show up in the gps,so after a few emails back and forth with the garmin tech and trying what they said would work, which didn't.  Late last night still trying different things(sometimes I don't give up very easy)I finally got it to working the way I wanted it to.
The boat polish I'm using on the motorhome is doing a good job of taking off the oxidation and bringing out the shine. I'm doing just a little at a time on it because its taking a lot of hard polishing and rubbing.
