Epiphany Day in Tarpon Springs. This is the a Greek Festival Day. It starts out with a service in the Greek Orthodox Church,then they carry the priest down to the water . The young men that are 16-18 years old are blessed. They get in the old fashion fishing boats in a circle. The priest throws the golden cross in the water and the young men dive in for it. The one that comes up with the cross is suppose to have the blessing for the next year in addition he gets a college tuition. Then the music and dancing in the park starts off with a full day of celebration. This event draws 30,000 people.
This is the travels of Joe and Nancy. Nancy is part Cherokee and I'm Hungarian, thus the name of our blog. We started full timing May,1,2000. We traveled in our motorhome visiting beaches,state parks,national parks,corp of engineer parks. We have overnighted in Walmarts, 24 hour grocery store, boat ramps, FlyingJ. Now with health issues and old age. Plus, we have not used the motorhome in a few years, this part of our life has come to an end.
