Valdosta,Georgia

We got started around 1:00 pm yesterday.  We still had a bunch of packing to do so thats what through us so late getting started.  We got on I-75 heading north,the traffic was moving pretty good.  We were on the road a short time and the south bound lane was almost at a stand still because of an accident.  The traffic was blocked for miles. I told Nancy I was glad it wasn't on our north bound lane. 

I shouldn't have said anything because in about 1/2 hour we had an accident in the noth bound lane that slowed the traffic down to 10 mph.  This lasted for quite a long time.

It was so slow that this guy decided to let his dog drive for a while.

But we did make it safe and sound,so we are very thankful for that.  We will be here visiting Mark and Sherry for a couple of days.  We will be staying here in the Walmart parking lot.  Last night we were parked beside of country singer Jake McVey and his bus.

Good Report

Good news,yesterday the Cardioligist said I came through the nuclear stress test and the photos of the heart showed everything was good.  So Nancy and I was really busy yesterday afternoon getting some more cleaning and packing of the motorhome. We are trying to get ready to leave sometime saturday.  Thats all I can write about now got to run.

Stress Test

I brought the motorhome over close to the house so we could clean up a little bit.  It was really hot inside the motorhome but we did manage to get some cleaning finished.
I go in for my stress test this morning.  I was scheduled to do it last thursday but they didn't get the nuclear medicine in. It will take about 3 hours so I guess it is a good test to make sure the heart and arteries are in good shape.

No Luck

Well no luck finding the sway bar bushings.  I called the ford dealership,they said they didn't have the bushings,I would have to buy a new bar with the bushings on them.  Why would they not have a couple of small bushing without me having to buy all of the rest of the bar?  Another way of making extra money off of the customer?  I will keep looking and I have no doubt I will find the bushings somewhere. 

Getting Ready

Yesterday I changed the oil and greased the chassis on the motorhome.  We are slowly trying to get the motorhome ready for traveling this summer.  As I was greasing the motorhome I notice the rear sway bar bushing were worn out. I have been calling all over the place to see if I can find them locally,but I have not been able to.  They say they can order them for me,but I'm afraid the bushings won't come in before we are to leave.  I will have to look at maybe making them myself if I can find the right material.

Walking

 We were walking at the John Chesnut Park yesterday. The pollen and all the stuff that had fallen was so thick on top of the water it looked as though you could walk on it

As bad as it looked there were still beautiful flowers growing out of the stuff

Of course the squirrels were there to remind us to stay on the trail.

Another new park

We went to a new park that is located at the end of Trouble Creek,on the Gulf side. The park has a nice picnic area and also has a fitness trail.

The park has 3 fishing piers and a canoe,kayak launch.  This is a nice small park that is still under a little construction.

James Grey Preserve

The only thing that happened friday was that I went out in front of the house to see the lift-off of the shuttle Atlantis on its last scheduled flight.  It was cloudy and I couldn't see it very well.

We went to the James Grey Preserve to walk yesterday.  It was very hot with the sun beating down on us but we managed to servive.  We saw this large turtle in the river,it looked to be around a foot on diameter. I think this is the largest water turtle we have seen. 

The trail that goes along the river has some very nice senic spots with benches that you can rest for a while.

We always see plants everywhere we go that we don't know what they are. We just enjoy them.

Park Walking

We were walking back down at the John Chesnut Park yesterday. Saw a couple of small trees with these hanging on the limbs. Don;t know what they were but they looked like golf balls with stick pins in them.

We saw a couple of raccoons prowling around. One of them looked like it had found a nest of alligator eggs that it was enjoying.  The weather is still very hot but it was a nice walk under the shade of the trees.

Same Stuff

It is really hot here pretty near 100 degrees so the days we have been walking in the mall.  I've been doing some small things over at the motorhome,kinda getting thing ready for when we take off around the end of the month.  Yesterday was wednesday so that was our pizza day.  We still go to Little Caesar's to get the "Hot and Ready".

Nancy's Birthday

Yesterday was Nancy's birthday so we went to Barnhills Buffet for dinner.  Then she went to Bealls Outlet for a couple of theings. Then it was to Walmart for a few groceries.  I did get time yesterday to repair the broken door latch on the motorhome bay door.
