Good time

It was back over to see Mark and Sherry yesterday.
After visiting for a couple of hours it was time to eat because Mark had to go to a meeting at the church.
We went in separate cars because Mark was going to the church after we finish our meal.
We went to Gino's to have our dinner. Sherry, Nancy and I had the baked spaghetti  with cheese on top of it while Mark took the philly cheese steak and fries. We all agreed the food tasted very good.
After getting back to Sherry and Mark's house we watched a little tv with Sherry.
Also enjoyed watching Sir Winston(their dog)which was upset and barking at the neighbor's dog which had come into their yard.
Our time is up here at Charles Fork Lake with Mark and Sherry we will be leaving tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Visiting

Nancy and I were tired from the trip Saturday so we just rested most of Sunday Morning.
Sherry and Mark came over in the afternoon and took us out for dinner then we went home with them to visit until it was time for church evening service.
We got to meet with a few of their new friends and Mark had a good message for all.

We came out of the church to see this beautiful double rainbow.
After a short visit with Mark and Sherry we came home for some relaxing and rest.
An old log cabin and water pump at the campground.  I have seen a few of these in my life time but now they are rare. All I can say when you pump these things and draw the well water up it is the coolest and best tasting water you can drink.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Charles Lake

Well folks yesterday we left Iron Ridge Campground and drove through the country side of Ohio.
Some of the many farms and barns we saw in Ohio.
Got to get those barn photo's in as we travel.
Crossing the Mighty Ohio River going into West Virginia.
After crossing the river we were In Point Pleasant and going through this under pass. This is one of the reasons I like the two lane roads more than the interstate see nothing high ways.
Mark and Sherry meet us when we got to Spencer at the Country Table Restaurant and bought us dinner. Thank you Mark and Sherry very much.
We then drove to Charles Lake to the campground with five electric sites they have and settle in with the motorhome.

Iron Ridge Campground

Wednesday after getting ready and getting on the road it looked as though it would rain because it stayed cloudy all day long.

We drove along and after an hour and a half we were crossing the mighty Ohio river into Ohio.
Taking route 52 south for several mile my GPS had me to turn off for the campground we planned on staying for a couple or so days.

Well as goes some times with following the directions of the GPS it lead me down the wrong road.
This has happened before for me traveling on the Blue Ridge Parkway some months back.
Anyway after taking the car loose from the motorhome and turning the motorhome around in someone's driveway(there's never a place large enough to turn with the car on the motorhome) I connected the car and finally got on the right road.
I did manage to find a campground in the Wayne National Forest. You will notice I said a campground and not the campground I thought I was going to.
There are three different campground here at the Vesuvius Lake.
We are in the Iron Ridge Campground  where the cell phone and the two WIFI hotspots are hit and miss or next to non existent.
I tried putting some photos on but with the signal here they would never load up so I will do that when we get to another place.  Just lucky to be able to post in the blog.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Sun and Thunderstorms

Yesterday we pulled out of the Kentucky Horse Park Campground around 11:30 am after emptying the tanks and filling up with fresh water.
By that time it had started raining.
I had cleaned the windshield and the tires while Nancy was getting ready.
Our first sop was at the Walgreens to pick up our prescribed medicine that I had refilled online.
After leaving Walgreens I drove just across the street to Krogers to fill up with fuel at a price of 1.86 9/10 with the Kroger card.  It took 62 gallons which was pretty good considering I had driven 440 miles since last fill up.
While we were at the  Krogers we had lunch before getting on the road.  So we pulled out after our lunch at 2:pm I told you we like to take our time and being fulltimers we don't have to be in a hurry since we are always home.

Just taking it easy and enjoying the scenery.

Can you tell I like old barns.
We got to Maysville still in Kentucky at the Walmart where we needed to do some shopping and while we were doing the shopping we had supper at the Subway with a chicken and bacon ranch sub that we split.
We had a nice sunny day after leaving the Kroger Store but by the time we did our shopping in Walmart and putting the groceries away there came a big thunderstorm so we just spent the night here.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Full day

Yesterday Nancy and I got ready and went over to visit earlier  with Vicki and Rebekah.
after we ate more than enough pizza for ourselves we sat down for more family conversations.
Then Vicki was wanting to show us the Restore where the habitat for Families has a store of things they have taken out of houses they are fixing up for people.
After looking around for an hour or so we came back to Vicki's house.
We drove through Lexington to see how nice they have the streets lined with small scrubs and flowers.
There are a few taller buildings.
Looking at the reflection of this building it looks like a building within a building.
By the looks of this crane there is a new building going up.
A mural of Old Abe keeping a watch over down town Lexington.
With this in the heart of horse country you know they would have statues of horses with jockey's riding them.
Also the Red Mile horse racing track.
After returning to Vicki's house we all had a nice portion of Jackie's butterscotch delight dessert.
After eating the dessert we were off to visit Rachel and her husband Corey.  We stayed a short time because Nancy and I were tired with the full day we had.  We did enjoy all that we did yesterday and most of all being with the family.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Leaving tomorrow

Yesterday after getting ready we went to Vicki's house, she had invited us over for dinner.
Vicki had made chicken and broccoli alfredo with a salad.  It tasted really good. After our meal we just sat around and talked with Vicki and Rebekah who had come in a short time after we arrived.
After a couple of hour Vicki served us a slice of Key Lime pie with a cup of coffee which was a nice addition to the meal we just had.  After the pie and some more conversation it was time for us to come home.  It was a very nice day with Vicki and Rebekah.
                                         Back at the campground.
Saturday when we parked at our site in the park we had neighbors all around us but most of them left yesterday.  There may have been a horse show going on at the Horse Park that was over after Saturday.
Today is our last day here in Lexington and our last day for visiting with Vicki for the time around.
We will be going back over to Vicki's house this afternoon.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Kentucky Horse Park

We took our time as we usually do getting ready yesterday.  After getting ready and unhooking the electric letting up the levelers clearing the blocks I had under the levelers then putting away all the lumber we went over to enjoy the hot dogs Jackie had made for us we were on our way.
Since it was raining and we have been this route many times Nancy decided it was a good chance to catch to catch up on her computing.
Traveling on I-64 in Kentucky you see nice scenes like these rills of hay.
Of course a lot of barns.
If you haven't been to Paris you can go there in your car, just drive to Kentucky they have Paris here.
After getting to our destination at the Kentucky Horse Park Campground and checking in then setting up the motorhome we rushed to meet up with our daughter and her son and family at the Cracker Barrel to have supper with them.  That was Vicki our daughter her son Jarrod our grandson his wife Chelsea and their two sons our great grandsons. You will have to figger all that out.
After eating and much conversation we all went to see Jarrod and Chelsea's house and visit for some more. We also enjoy a slice of Jarrod's home made cheese cake which was good and very rich tasting. After a couple of hours it was time for Nancy and I to leave so we came home and relaxed for the rest of the evening.  We had a very good day.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Time to move

Yes our time is up here visiting with Jackie(Nancy's sister)we have been here five weeks and boy are my feet itching to be on the road.
We will be going to Lexington and staying at the Kentucky Horse Park.
We have had a very good time here at Jackie's and she has fed me more than she should have. Like yesterday she had us a butterscotch delight for dessert. Also she said she would like for us to have hot dogs with her before we leave today.  How could I say no to hot dogs?

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Long day

We were awaiting for Don to call us on Wednesday telling us what time he was due to go in the St Mary's hospital for his triple by-pass heart operation.
Jackie went ahead and called Don around 2:30 pm and Don told her that they has scheduled him for 7:15 am and he had to be there at 5:15 am Thursday.
So after Jackie, Nancy and I was discussing when we should leave to go to be with him I said I would rather leave and spend the night rather than not knowing how long the day would be.
So we got ready and left a little before 4:00 and a sop at Fazoli's in Morehead so a senior's spaghetti diner we were on our way.
Getting to Huntington we checked in at the Red Roof Inn motel that was within 6 mile of the hospital where we relaxed watching the tv and being on our computers.
Yesterday was the long day in that we woke up at 6:30 am and started getting ready. I was the first to get ready and I told Jackie and Nancy I would go out to McDonald's and us some egg biscuits and coffee. After eating I told them I would go out and look around town while they got ready.
When I got back they were ready to go to the hospital.
With the new to us new addition being much larger than the old hospital  it took us a while to find the entrance.
Don was already in the operating room and at 10:30 am the doctor came out and told us that Don had to have 4 by-pass instead of the triple by-pass after they opened him up. Everything went well and he well have a full recovery. They  let us go in to see him and of course he was still sleeping.
They said the next time we could see him was at 2:00 so we waited but with them having more open heart surgery's with other people being put in the recovery room it was 3:30 before we got to see Don again.  We were surprised to see they had taken all the breathing tubes from around his face and he was awake and able to talk to us.
It was close to 4:30 when we went to Chili's to eat and all three of us were hungry since the egg biscuits from earlier in the day. We all had a very good steak dinner.
We got back home very tired after a long day be very happy that everything went well with Don.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Lot of shopping

Friday, was another dump day at the Cave Run Campground dump station. We were almost over due since it had been 15 days since we have dumped our black tank.
As you can see on the header photo that it is kind of a chore to clear all the lumber before going to the dump then leveling back up when getting back.
Saturday was doing mostly household chores with cleaning inside and filling the fresh water tank.
Sunday Nancy was filling somewhat better so we went to church. After getting back home we changed clothes to be comfortable. I got on the computer to catch up on things while Nancy prepared a good dinner. She had southern fried chicken breast with green beans, potatoes and garden fresh green onions and tomatoes. Nancy called Jackie over to have supper with us.
Yesterday I made a trip into Morehead for some things we needed.
Here is a nice little peaceful looking valley that we pass when we go to Morehead.

First stop was Save a Lot for canned vegetables which have better prices on the cans.
Next was to Dollar General for toilet tissue and dish washing liquid.  The Angel Soft tissue is cheap than the other stores.
The next stop was Big Lots for cans of air that comes in handy for various things besides cleaning out the computers.
From there it was to Walmart for a couple of food items.
From there it was to Kroger to get some ice cream for me and sherbet for Nancy. We like the Kroger brand of these which seem to taste better for us.
As usual as has been the hard rain came before I got back home but when I arrived at the motorhome the rain had stopped long enough for me to unload the things I had bought.
Nancy was finishing up supper when I had the groceries put up.  Boy, did she have a good meal!
Pinto beans that where seasoned so good that with potatoes, fresh made cole slaw, onions and cornbread hot off the stove. I think Nancy, Jackie and especially me had our fill.  Oh I mean it was gooood.
It rained off and on all night.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
