What Else

Yesterday we had to run down to Shallotte for a few groceries.

After putting the groceries away and eating a bite it was back to the beach.  We haven't been to the beach this late in the day,but there was still plenty of sunshine left over for us.
There was also still the beach scene, water with the waves, shrimp boats and some kind of cruise ship or maybe a casino shuttle boat.
A very nice evening with beautiful cloud formations.
Even saw a couple of military choppers fly over. Thank you guys for keeping watch over our country.  Another very nice day.

Another Beach Day

It was back to the beach yesterday.  The crowds are becoming larger as we get more into the summer time weather and more people are on vacations.
Several shrimp boats were out along the coast catching the shrimp for the people that frequent the local restaurants.
The above photo was taken by my daughter Sherry.  She loves taking photos as much as I do and she also always has her camera by her side for that "Kodak" moment.
We stayed for a couple of hours and got another good coat of sun on the bodies.

The Beach

We went to the beach yesterday and there was a large crowd out enjoying the water and sun. The tide was in so looking for a spot to put the loungers wasn't easy.  We did find a spot where we had a nice view of the water and waves coming in. But not for long the view quickly change to the back of six heads.  Some people came and set up close in front of us.  Oh well thats the beach.  If you don't like crowds don't go to the beach.
We stayed a couple of hours then came home took ours showers and went out to eat.
A very nice relaxing day.

Sunset Beach,North Carolina

As I was pulling out of the Walmart parking lot yesterday morning this young bird must have wanted to go with us.  It stayed on for around a half a mile then decided flying was better than riding on a motorhome.
I didn't blame the bird for flying off.  I like the 2 lane roads but I sure didn't like all the construction.
We got into Myrtle Beach and I decided to take the route up through the senic part of town.  Bad idea, traffic was so heavy and then they were repaving the street. This had three lanes of traffic choked down to one lane.  After seeing a couple of fender benders and almost in a couple ourselves we make it through in one piece.
We got to our campground in Sunset Beach, then settled in for the night.

Long Day

We did leave Warner Robins yesterday after filling up the motorhome.  I got gas at the Kroger with the Kroger card 3 cent a gallon off that made it $3.30 a gallon.  I was on empty so the cost was $240.00 "OUCH".  that will get me to Sunset Beach and some to spare.  After traveling the 2 lane back roads.

Traveling through the small towns is what I like to do.  The day was a tiresome day in that the lady on the gps couldn't find the restaurant that we were wanting to have dinner.  We ended up eating at the Golden Corral in Sumter,South Carolina.  This resterauant is one will will put on our not to do list again.  We spent a good restful night parked in the Walmart parking lot.  We have just over 100 miles to travel today so we will take our time.

Warner Robins

We got a late start yesterday because Sherry was wanting to do some more visiting before she left Valdosta.  We had a good trip up I-75.  I was going to buy me enough gas to get me to Warner Robins. When I checked on Gasbuddy the fuel was some what cheaper.  I had a little over 1/4 tank so I thought I would just wait and get the fuel on up the road.  Bad idea, fuel was 3.47 in Valdosta and shortly north of there it jumped to 3.58.  So I watched the fuel gauge and it seemed to have gotten stuck on 1/4. Good I thought, all of a sudden the motorhome has decided not to use any fuel.  I did make it all the way to Warner Robins without running out. Good indeed the price of regular unleaded is 3.33 here. So without any more wars breaking out, pipe lines being destroyed or oil tankers sinking the price tomorrow will still be the same when I fill the motorhome up.
We will be staying with my brother Nick and the family and leaving tomorrow.

Wedding

Yesterday was a busy day, taking picture, meeting everyone for the first time. We were at the church from 1:30pm until 5:00pm. The wedding was nice with the bride and groom saying their individual vows and getting teary eyed in the process.
After the ceremony came my favorite part, the refreshments.  There was plenty to go around a couple of times.  Punch, nuts, chex mix, great meat balls in delicious sauce, cheese, crackers, cake and cheese cake, maybe more that I have forgotten.
All in all a very nice day.
On the road again today to Warner Robins to see brother Nick.

Hot days

Our grandson Jeremy having fun with son Andy during our cook-out monday.  We had a nice time and I was the grill cook for the day grilling the hamburgers and hot dogs.
Yesterday was the day for getting our medicines filled and as sometimes the way it happens we had trouble with the transfers and insurance.  When we went to pick up the medicine they had run some of them through without the insurance so we had to tell them it was all on the insurance. So after around three hours everything was straightened out.  After getting back from Walmart I changed the oil and filter in the car.  I usually get the oil changed at Walmart but decided to do it myself this time.
We have no plans today and with the temps going to be close to 95° we will spend most of the day inside under the aircinditioner.
Stay cool and have a nice day.
