Kentucky

We did get to Kentucky and down to Jackie's.
Well we got to her house after we went through Morehead and these two rock cliffs. It must have been quite a chore drilling and blasting through the rock.
We had a very nice trip there and back.

Still Hanging Around

This is the wiew of the West Virginia Capital in Charleston. The dome is painted gold.
Today was much the same as the last couple of days. Nancy and I did go to Walmart and I finally got the car washed which was long over due.
Tomorrow we are going to get Nancys sister (Jackie) and bring her over for a few days. The drive is a couple of hours one way so that will take up the day.

Goodbyes and Hello's

Well after a very nice and pleasant stay at Callie's we said our goodbyes. We had a very wonderful time thank you. We got on I-77 which is also the WV Turnpike. With the toll booths at three locations along the way it does cost quite a bit with a motorhome pulling a car. I sure hope they use some of that money to work on the roads. I don't recommend it for anyone to drive on. What do they do with the monies they get from the toll, casino's and the lottery?? We arrived at Peach and Don's around 2:30 and set up everything. I don't know how long we will stay here.
I heard our good friend Richard Barker was in the hospital so I called and talked to him for a while. It was good to hear his voice. Get well soon Dick.

Today was a repeat of yesterday. We went to the Texas Steakhouse with Callie and Jim again today. It wasn't the same one but the food was good here also.
They sure serve a good steak. We did not look at motorhome today either. We had a good time visiting and talking with Callie and Jim they are two very nice people.

Motorhome Looking

Nancy and I went with Callie and Jim today. Jim was wanting to look at the motorhomes down in Blacksburg,Virginia. We got started around 12:45pm so we stopped at the Texas Steakhouse first for a real good steak dinner. We kicked a few tires but they didn't have very many motorhomes on the sales lot where we were. Jim saw a few that he talked to the salesman about.
All in all though we had a real nice day.

Yeah,I found a barbershop

Yes I did. Do you know how hard it is to find a real barbershop? I've been looking in a bunch of places where we have been and every place has a hair stylist, but the barbershops are few and far between. So now I don't have to worry about that for a while.
Nancy and I went to the Mercer Mall to walk some today also. It has been long over due for our walking. Also Callie had some good delicious spaghetti complete with a salad and garlic bread.

A Little Everything

Last night was a good peaceful night. It was cool and good sleeping weather with the window over our heads open and letting the cool breeze in.
Today Callie bought a couple of "Little Caesar's Hot and Ready Pizzas" which are always good.
A little of everything was the weather today, sun shine and rain alternating most of the day. Still it was a good day visiting.

We had a good night at the Walmart parking lot. There were 5 other camping units there. It was raining so as usual we took our time getting ready. After eating breakfast, which was biscuits a jam,we got ready. We went back to the Travel Plaza at the Tamarack to dump the tanks and fill with fresh water. It was around 2:30 so we stopped at the Cracker Barrel to eat dinner. We had rain all the way on our drive. We got to Callie's around 4:30 and will stay here until monday.

No Copperheads for me

We had a nice pieceful night at the Tamarack parking spot. We got ready and drove over to Walmarts. After parking I unhooked the car and off we go to a place called Army Camp. This is a free primitive campground which is part of the National Park Service.
It was a nice little campground by the Gauley River. It was a very narrow road, which was gravel for a mile. After talking to one of the men that works there and listen to him tell about the copperhead snakes being bad this year. He said a couple of the campers and a couple of the workers were bitten this year we decided that we would not stay here.

After looking at the campground I drove down to see what the place with the name Prince looked like. I was just a few houses and this train station. I thought the station was something left over from yesteryear, but upon checking the train still stops here 3 times a week to pick up and drop of passengers.
After we got back to the motorhome it was getting late so we decided to stay the night here.

Traveling

Well after a week of wifi and no wifi we are on the road again.
We had a wonderful visit with Dee and Amanda and the little one and family.
We left Copperhead Campground around noon and drove all the way to Beckley. We are spending the night at the Tamarack parking space. It was a up and down the mountain highways.
