Whats Happening?

Just the same old stuff is happening here. We did go down to the pool the other day and got some sun. The sun and water felt good and also to do something different felt good. I think Nancy and I both got sun in our eyes because we have been having trouble with our eyes burning and itching. Oh well that won't last forever.

Yes I'm still watching ballgames. I watched 2 NIT games last night.

Monday we were at Walmart and the tomatoes were $1.88 a pound needless to say I won't buy any at that price. While we were riding around yesterday I stopped at a little market and bought tomatoes for .79 a pound,now thats more like my price. We had some of the tomato along with breakfast this morning and it tasted good.

I don't know what we will be doing today because we never know from one day to the next what we are going to do.

Shuttle Launch

Well with the basketball games over for a few days I watched the shuttle lift off yesterday. It was a good launch and the view here on the west coast of Florida is good,but it is much better when it is in total darkness. Never the lss still a site to see.
I'm expecting to see some great games this coming week and once again I will be glued to the tv.

Sunny and Warm

It has finally warmed up. The last few days it has been close to and over 80°. The sun is out nice and bright. It is beginning to feel like Florida. I know it has been rough in all parts of the USA,but it was unusually cold for Florida. Now to the boring part,not for me but maybe for some of you who read my blog. There are still a few more games on today that I will be watching. I saw in the paper online that the high school from my home town is headed for the state tournament--go tigers.
Boring you with my watching basketball games,I don't have many people reading my blog. The result of not having many visitors is that the google ads do not get clicked on and I haven't gotten enough to receive a check this year thus far.
Hopefully later on I can make it more interesting please bear with me until that time. I know if you're like me when I read someones blog I like a lot of pictures,after all they do say a picture is worth a thousand words.

Still Basketball

Thats me,yesterday I watched basketball all day long up til midnight last. I guess thats why they call it "March Madness". I hope your friday the 13th goes well today.

Good Friends

Yesterday we went over to Zephyrhills to visit our friends Lena and Earl Fries. Earl and Lena are heading back north the 21st of this month. They work at Dollywood in the summertime. We meet Earl and Lena several years ago when we also work for Dollywood and became friends that have lasted over the years. We meet up with them several times for dinner during the winter and also in the summer when we go to Pigeon Forge,Tennessee.

Another Good Day Walking

Yesterday was a nice day for walking as we usually do. We saw this heron along the trail by the water.

Nice little wild flowers in the grass.

On one of the trails they have park benches where you can sit down and rest.

As we were walking on the trail I looked up in the trees and saw this owl staring at me. I thought owls are nocturnal.

This was a big owl,looked to be 8 to 10 pounds and a large wing span when it flew.

On the way to Walmart yesterday we stopped and did some walking out at the J B Starkey Park
Saw this gopher tortoise eating some green grass. The tortoise can live to be 100 years old. It lives in a burrow underground that it digs and this burrow can be 3-4 foot deep and 20 to 30 feet long. The gopher tortise is on the endangered species list. We stood and watch this one going from one pod of green grass to the other.

Here Nancy is getting us a drink of water at the 1 1/2 mile marker.

It was a warm 80° with a slight cool wind blowing.

March Madness

Today is most of the college basketball teams last day. Then it is time for the NCAA Tournament. There will be some that are glad that they will be picked to be in,but there will be more teams that will be disappointed. So today starting at 12:oo noon until midnight I will be in front of the tv watching the games.

Onan Generator

Not very much is happening these days.
I did get to start and run the onan generator on the motorhome. The generators should be exercised once a month to keep the varnish from building up in the carb and to dry up the dampnest in the windings of the stator motor. An engine of any kind runs better being used rather then setting and never getting the oil stired up.

Walk,Walk,Walk

Yes that is what we like to do is get out and walk. Why not with all the beauty and beautiful things to see all around you when you walk.

Cold and Rain

Sunday was cold rain and windy. Needless to say we didn't get out all day long. Yesterday was still cool and windy,but I did get out to go to Harbor Freight for a few things that I had coupons for. I also watched my ballgames last night and that was about all the excitement we could stand for a couple of days.
