Is Spring Near?

We walked out at J B Starkey Park agian yesterday.
Looking around noticed these pale pink flowers. Could it be spring time is near?

Nice little blue ones all over.

Saw just one of these plants,I don't know what they are.

This little butterfly was enjoying hopping around to the different flowers. Saw a few different butterflies,but they wouldn't stay still long enough to have their picture taken. You could tell by the way they were flying around that they were glad spring time is around the corner.

Watched some ball games last night. Today will be 4 basketball games,as the Big East tournament will get under way.

Got out today

Yeah we finally got out today to do some serious walking.

Of course when you get out and drive about you might see things you don't like. Like the price of fuel going up,up,up it doesn't seem to want to stop going up.

Then close by the gas station we saw this wreck. I don't know maybe he was looking at the gas sign. What do you think? This is almost an everyday occurence seeing a fender bender and it doesn't surprise me in the least. People pull out in front of you and zig zag in traffic. No one wants to drive the speed limit. They could make a lot of money down here if they would get people for traffic violations.

First we went to the Port Richey River Front Park. It was nice and cool with the breeze coming off the bay waters. This is a pano of the bay,a combination of 5 photos to get this one shot. If you click on the photo you will get an enlarged picture.

We then went to GreenKey park out by the gulf. It only has a small boardwalk trail out to the gulf side water. From there we went down in town and did the river walk. Came home and did some more walking,all in all a good day of walking.

Same O Stuff

Oh boy I missed posting yesterday,sorry but it was one of those days. Most days are just the same old stuff and I just didn't want to bore you with same stuff. Anyway,watched ballgames and walked saturday. Wasn't that short and sweet?
Yesterday we went to church,although Nancy didn't feel much like it. We did enjoy another good serom that Pastor Guy had.

On the way back home I saw this VW "hippy wagon"that looked like it was from the 60's. Every now and then I see one of these with the flowers and all. Sometimes I even see the guys that are left over from the 60's. I guess not much will be happening today since Nancy and I both have the touch of th "bug". Like I was telling Nancy last night 52 more night here and then back on the road. We have to wait that long because we have doctor appointments in April.

Another Storm

Yesterday started out nice,windy but nice. I took Nancy to get her hair cut yesterday afternoon,then bought gas at WalMart $3.12 with the card. On the way home Nancy had to have her pizza,so we stopped at Little Caesar's Pizza. We ate our pizza and then took out the garbage and walked the park,the wind was really picking up by that time. We had a large storm coming in and once again tornados in the forcast. We didn't get a tornado but we got a lot of rain on and off all night. They did have a couple of tornados in the northern part of the state. The weather is going to be cooler for the next couple of days. This morning the sun is shining bright and we still have a lot of wind.
Its saturday and that means ball games for me. I'm really going to enjoy the next few weeks with all the tournament play going on all day long.

More Rain

We did get over to Zephyrhills and had a very nice visit with Lena and Earl. We talked for a while then went out to Golden Carrol for dinner where we had a good dinner and more good talk. After we got back to their place we didn't go back in because the weather looked like it was going to rain and also we knew they had quite a bit to do since they are leaving saturday. Its a good thing we did because in about 5 minutes it started to rain and short time later it was coming down in tub fulls. Have a safe journey Earl and Lena.
After we got back home the temps dropped down 10-15 degrees,so we did not go back outside. It continued to rain off and on the rest of the night.
This morning is the same as every morning by starting off drinking coffee and watching Good Morning America. There is a tornado warning for Citrius County which is a couple of countys from us. We have high wind advisory for today and tomorrow. This meant that I had to go out and let up with the awning. Boy I'm doing this every other day,I guess its that time of the year. I don't want to take a chance of losing my awning. I've had that happen before so I guess I'm a little gun shy when the wind starts to blow.

Zypherhills Today

We did get to the laundromat yesterday. The weather was cool with a very cool breeze blowing most of the day. After we got back we walked some around the park,Nancy walked a little extra by herself.
The we had dinner,I tried some of these hot dogs that I bought at WalMart. The price of $1.50 for 2 was ok. More than I can say about the hot dogs. The pickles it shows on the side dosen't come in the package,which I didn't expect them in there. The weiners were tasteless,the chili wasn't much taste there either and the cheese had a faint taste. Even after putting on onions and mustard that didn't help. I won't buy these again. I do like hot dogs and have been eating them for a long,long time.
Today we will be going to Zypherhills to see our good friends Lena and Earl Fries. They are going back to Tennessee Saturday because they work at Dollywood which is opening early this year. The time down here this season has seem to flown by. We try to keep in touch with Earl and Lena as much as we can and when we are close by we visit each other.
That is all we have plenned for the day.

No Big Storm

We did get some rain yesterday,but nothing in the way of a storm. It was suppose to come back last night,the only thing we had last night was a little thunder and lightning,no rain.



Yesterday evening was dark and the sun was trying its best to break through,which it never did.

Another day today with the sun shining bright even though the temperature is not up there to much. 71 is the high for the day. We'll take that over the cold and snow any day.

Needless to say we didn't get out to the laundromat and have to do that today.

My usual evening yesterday,watching a basketball game,computer and the radio scanner,man do I stay busy.

Whenever I hear of the name of a person that something is named for,like a bridge or highway,it strikes my interest and I look the name up on the internet. That was the case yesterday. There is this bridge or causeway going from Tampa to McDill Air Base called Dale Mabry. This Dale Mabry was from Tampa and was a pilot of a dirigible during World War I that crashed and was Americas worst air disaster at that time. I'm not charging any extra for the history lesson.

The "bug" that I've had all week is finally just about gone,"YEAH".

Storm Coming

Yesterday we took the garbage to the dumpster and walked around the park. After lunch we went to WalMart for a few things. O n the way back home I stopped in at the Publix to get me some Ginger Ale,Nancy got some egg salad and ham salad. The rest of the day consisted of a nap and watching a basketball game on the tv. We had planned on going to the laundromat today but it looks like the storm may keep us from going today. It doesn't matter if we have to put it off until tomorrow. It is very nice when you can go with the flow and make and break plans.
They're forcast a thunderstorm for the day and in our area its just suppose to be rain. In the panhandle it is going to be a little more severe,with a chance of a tornado. It is looking like a stay in the house kind of day.

March

There is a saying about how March comes in and goes out. I think this is the first time March has come in like a steam roller over my body. Maybe I'm just getting old-nay I doubt that. Whatever it is that has a hold of me needs to let go. I woke up in the middle of the night drenching wet with sweat. I have to say I feel a little better but the old body is sore. I laid around all day yesterday not perculating very good. Oh well it will pass as things usually do.
I watched a basketball game yesterday and that is about all. Maybe if I feel somewhat better we will get out today,I sure hope so.

Oh

Yesterday wasn't a very good day,I felt like I was coming down with some kind of bug. Last night I started chilling and it felt about like I was getting the flu. I'm feeling some better but still aching all over and especially pain in the stomach. I won't be doing much of anything today unless I feel a whole lot better.

Slow Day

That was yesterday. All we did was our walk and same of the stuff that we usually do. Of course when you sit in one place a long time there isn't much different that you can do from day to day.
Can you believe it is March already,the time on one hand seems to be flying by and on the other hand it seems slow. Today started with the big breakfast that I have once a week. From there it was to get the 20lb. propane tank filled. Then check and air up the tires on the car,empty the black tank,spray the grounds around the motorhome with ant pesticide. I've been a busy feller today. It will soon be time to start watching the basketball games for the day.
Nice and sunny for today with the temp up to 77,very nice. Its good to wear short pants again.
