Fall Colors

It is something special to drive and see the mountains this time of year. Here are some trees in West Virginia with the breath taking colors. The bad news is you may be in areas where your phone service is not. If you depend on using your phone to get on the internet then it is real bad news. This was the case for us for a week but now things are good again.

Tour

We took a tour of the Woodford Reserve Distillery where they produce the L&G Bourbon Whiskey. Very interesting tour. It is located in Versailles,Kentucky.

Corn Mash

This is one of the 3 vats where the corn mash is working. The large vats are made of cypress wood. They never completly empty them. They leave part of it in so they can mix some of the old with the new. This way the bourbon all taste the same.

The Barrels

The barrels are made on the property. They are made of oak and are flame charded inside. The barrels are used only once then the are sold. They said if it is used more then one time the bourbon starts to take on the taste of the wood.

Aging

Here are the barrels in storage for the aging process. These are in a enviroment controled building to keep the wood from drying out. They produce about 115 barrels a week. They are a small distllery.

On the road again

After being by the Barren river at the Tailwaters campground we are on the road again. It was a good 3 weeks there with a lot of rest and relaxing. The bad part I couldn't get online since the Verizon Network is dead there. We are going to be here at the Kentucky Horse Park for 3 days visiting with our daughter Vicki and family which live in Lexington.

Being Lazy

We are in the Barren River Tailwaters Campground. We like this COE Park because, this time of year it is free. They have water and a dump station so it is a good deal. Nice and peaceful.

Road Again

After being here for a week it is time to move again. We have had a great time here this week watching the gospel groups perform. We also saw some of our friends from West Virginia. The Jude family (Brenda,Mike and Melbourne).
Brendas mom (Jean)and sister(Sharon( were also there.
We will see them again in October when we go to our church reunion.

Freedom Hall

Well the time came for us to go to the National Quartet Convention. This event is held in Freedom Hall in Louisville,Kentucky each year. Last night was the awards ceremony in which the fans favorite won top honors. It is always crowded on this night with thousands of gospel music fans from all over the USA in attendance.

Inside

Once inside, like everyone else we had to find our seats. Of course the ushers would help yoy if you couldn't find your seat.

To Much Rain

It rained all day yesterday. With all the rain it started leaking somewhere in the front of the motorhome on drivers side. Now this is not a good thing.
We went to Stinnet RV over the river in Indiana. They have a Camping World Store there. I bought a couple tubes of rubber caulking for the roof. Now to get on the roof and find where it might be leaking in and put on the caulking.
