Scenes and Scents of the Season

Holly berries on the trees with their red color and the tree leaves turning. You can smell the leaves and the pine in the air and you know what season it is.

Roller Coaster Yard Sale

This is a part of the rural highway 63 where they have a 100 mile long yard sale. Needless to say it was crowded. It extends from Glasow,KY into Tennessee. We had to see this while we were so close. Every community that had an fire truck had food for sale. There was some good buys.

What a view

This is the view out of our back window of our site along the river. No one seems to take advantage of these free campsites. This was when we were at the Corp of Engineers campground.

We're Not Lost

Its been a long time since I last posted. The reason I have'nt been able to get on line with my cell phone. I'm in Scottsville,Ky. at the library. We are camping at The Barren River Lakr tailwaters campground. Although the season is over there is free camping with water and a dump. Can't beat that. I don't know why more people don't take advantage of that. There are 46 sites and we are the only ones there. We are right on the river fishing, walking and laying in the sun. We plan on staying 2 more weeks.

NQC

We are in Louisville,KY this week for the National Gospel Quartet Convention. All the big names in southern gospel music will be here. We always enjoy this week long event. Our plans when we leave Sunday are to go to Barren River Lake. We will be in a Corp of Engineers campground. The season for the camp ends September 18th but its open all year. It will be free until next April. Of course it will have reduced amenities. We don't know how long we will be there. We checked it out a couple of days ago and it was a nice place. It is below the dam in the tailwater section. The only thing is we can't get a phone signal there ,so I won't be able to post until we get out of there.

Princeton??

You may want to know what happened to the Princeton Post. I couldn't get online with the cell phone there. So I will fill you in. We had two great days parked in Nancy's Sister's(Callie)drive way. Like all the other sister's Callie treated us soooo good and fed us way to much food. Jim grilled some of the best steaks I have set my mouth around. She has a beautiful house. It is fixed up so nice. We left this morning and are now parked in the Morristown,Tn. WalMart parking lot.
We will take our time getting up in the morning, eat breakfast and take our daily walk. We will then take our showers and slooowly go into Pigeon Forge. All the rest of the family will be there for our annual family reunion This week end.
