Kentucky Horse Park

Well here we are in Lexington,Ky. We will be staying here in the Horse Park for 2 weeks.
Wouldn't you know it they blew up a oil line in Iraq today and already the gas stations have raise the gas prices 20 cents today. The price here is $1.95 a gallon. Goes down so slow but,boy it jumps back up fast.

Leaving Cumberland Gap

We are leaving Cumberland Gap National Park today,heading north.
We have enjoyed these 2 weeks. We have hiked 3 trails and have walked approximately 50 miles. We thought that was pretty good for 2 old folks.

Beautiful View

. Didn't God give us a beautiful country to enjoy? This is the most western part of Virginia. The little tip that is between Kentucky and Tennessee.

Pinnacle Point

Pinnacle Point Nancy looking at the valley below. The view was breath taking. I can just imagine how the indians must have felt when they were watching the buffalo,deer and other animals pass thru the gap going north to the salt licks.

Wild Turkeys

. Wild turkeys feeding on a hill side close to Cumberland Gap Park.

Looks Good That should do it. Stand back this is going to be a blast.

Invasion Thru the Gap

. The Cumberland Gap was a strategic point in the Civil War. Both the Confederate and the Federate Army was wanting this point.

Sunday We woke up early got ready and went to church in Middlesboro,Ky. We then just lazied around for most of the day. Took our evening walk. This is Nancy resting and enjoying our backyard here in Cumberland Gap National Park.
