I THINK that I shall never see

A poem lovely as a tree.


A tree whose hungry mouth is prest

Against the sweet earth's flowing breast;


A tree that looks at God all day,

And lifts her leafy arms to pray;


A tree that may in summer wear

A nest of robins in her hair;


Upon whose bosom snow has lain;

Who intimately lives with rain.


Poems are made by fools like me,

But only God can make a tree.

I know there are some lovely poems,but there's just something magical about a tree. This is why we like to get out of the RV Park and do our walking. We come across beautiful scenery when we get out in the woods.

Oh My

We went walking in John Chestnut Park yesterday. When we got there we got out and "oh my" yep I locked my keys in the car. More on that later.

With the keys locked in the car may as well do our walking and then think about the locked up keys later. The azaleas were really bloomed out.

The squirrels in the trees watched as we walked by them.

Even saw a red headed woodpecker today.

Back to the locked car. This is one time I'm happy to have emergency road service. Just a call and they will be out. I called and after pushing all the numbers to reach the right person,they wanted to know if I was in a safe place. Then comes the hard part,try to get someone that sounds like they are in India to understand where I was. Didn't sound to hard from my end where I was. He asked if I was near a certain golf course,I don't know I don't play golf so I don't know where the golf courses are. I'm on a certain road 20 miles south of this town and 10 miles east of this other place. He couldn't find my location. So he says I will get back with you. 15 minutes later a nice english speaking lady calls and asked where I was. I told her the name of the park and she says she can get someone there,yeaaa. She did get them there to. Why are they working these people that can't even find the USA to try and find out where I am?

Park Parade

Yesterday was the annual park parade. We had less people in the parade this year,it may be because we have a lot of new people in the park and they are bashful. The picture below need no explanation they speak for themselves.

Walking and Shopping

Still cool this morning. Yesterday we did the usual things going to the store,stopping by the roadside market to buy some vegetables. From there to Walmart.

Of course we got our walking in for the day.

The walking trail in the J B Starkey Park has places to sit down and rest every 1/2 mile,so that make it nice for the people that need it.

Wasted Evening

Yesterday we had a nice day going to church,then after church having dinner out with our friends.
After coming home I thought I would find a basketball game or two to watch but their wasn't anything to watch. So we sat around me on the computer and Nancy reading, Then came late evening time and we thought we would watch the "Academy Awards". Oh what a waste of time that was,it just reminded me of why I had not watch it in a few years. Maybe I'm just getting old but seems as though that used to be a good thing to watch. Maybe I will try again in about 10 mores years.

Yard Sale

Yesterday started out with 1st street having a sale. I guess it was called 1st street yard sale. Anyone on 1st that had things that they were wanting to get rid of just set it on a table in their driveway.
There were a lot of people roaming the street looking for a bargain.
The rest of the day was basketball for me. There were a few good games on.

Fish Fry

Yesterday was a very cool day. The temp got up to 63.° We stayed inside most of the day.

We did go down to the fish fry around 4:30. The club house was rather full and everyone was enjoying their meal. When we were finished we got up and left because there were people waiting for our place at the table.

Yesterday was like the other days again. Except it rained in the afternoon. I sure hope it put out some of the fires.
We had a huge fire down in Holiday and the news was all about that. They were having a time with it with all the wind blowing. I listened to it on my scanner radio and they had a lot of units that responed to it. Also with all the reporting back to the main base I could tell there were a lot of firemen on the scene.
Then again there was the basketball game. I'm sure glad I'm able to watch the game on the tv.

Work???

Yesterday I did do a little work,well I guess it really wasn't work. Anyway I hung a mirror on the wall in the bedroom for Nancy. Well Nancy was cleaning the new mirror and she told me it wouldn't come clean. I looked at it real close and the mirror looked like it was an old mirror. So I took it down and we went back to the store,traded it for one that was good.
We did one walk around the park again. Once again I watched another basketball game.

Just Basketball

Yesterday was another lazy day. We did get out and did some walking in the J B Starkey Park. Nothing exciting happened,just saw an armadillo. If you've seen one you've seen all because they all look a like. There were a lot of birds singing. After doing our walking we had to go do some grocery shopping.
Last night I watched another college basketball game. The team I was wanting to win,lost so that wasn't very good to see.

Little Better

I'm feeling a little better today,but still not up to par. Yesterday we just walked a little here in the park. This morning it was a bit cooler with the temp at 46.
Nothing planed for the day.

Down Today

Yesterday I watch a ballgame and only did it half-heartedly. Seems as though I've got the old stomach virus or something. Also Nancy has the old catch in her back. So niether one of us are feeling like we would like. Hopefully as the day goes by today we will start to feel better.

Buying

Yesterday started a little different. We got out and walked in the park early,like before we even had our breakfast. The reason we did it was clouldy, dark and looked as though it was going to rain so we were afraid it might keep us from walking. It didn't rain though and we were able to get in more walking for the day. We went to a couple of different stores,bought some need things,such as a tv stand,book case and Nancy was wanting me to get a small desk to keep my computer on. Again last night I watched more ballgames.

A Walk in the Park

Yesterday we went back down to the John Chestnut Park to do some more walking.

The Azalia's were starting to bloom and they sure did look bright and beautiful.

The lilly pads were floating around in the back waters of the lake.

The usual birds were out looking to find a meal. It was a nice sunny day with the temps close to 80 with a nice warm breeze blowing. It made for a good day to walk.

Still Walking

Why am I putting so much about walking on my blog. That is what we do most of the time. It is fun and also it is good for you. Other people here in the park like to walk,they walk around here in the park. We do some walking in the park also but we like our walking out in the woods most of the time. It is more relaxing out under the trees and by the water. We may even see a bird that we have not seen before.
Even see lizards getting some sun on the handrails of the boardwalks.

Occasionaly we see an armadillo like this one in the J B Starkey Park.

Then there is James Grey Preserve that has the river with its many spectacular views. I told Nancy yesterday I could just see Johnny Weissmuller playing "Tarzan diving out of a tree into the river and fighting with a large gator.

Walking

Sunday we went to church then ate dinner out with our friends. After dinner and some conversation we came home and sat around for awhile then did a little walking in the park. That was about it for Sunday.
Yesterday we walked around the park,then we went to the store. Before we came home we went to J B Starkey Park and walked more. We ended up the day with a few more miles then what we have been getting.
Of course last night I had to watch my ball games.

Hot Dog Day

Yesterday was the same as saturdays go. The day was spent watching the college basketball games. It was warm enough for me to go out and grill some hot dogs. I like hot dogs and it has been a while since I had some dogs. Some how eating hot dogs and watching a game just makes both a little better.

Plane back home

Vicki did catch her plane yesterday. We left a little early so we could have lunch together. She had to be at the airport 3 hours before her plane was to leave. With all the checking in of looking through all the bags and a search down I guess all this is necessary before getting on the plane. She said its a good thing she was early because there were 150 people boarding the plane.
She called us last night and said she had a very good flight.
Thank you Vicki for coming down and spending some time with us,we really enjoyed it.

Dade City Tour

We went to Dade City yesterday and took the walking tour of the old houses.

We walked down Church Street and saw several old churches that dated back to the 1800s.

Today we will take Vicki to the airport to catch her plane back to Lexington,Ky. She has had a good time on her visit here and we have had a better time with her visiting us. The time has just gone by to fast.

Henry Plant Hotel

Yesterday was another tourist day with Vicki. We went into Tampa to see the Henry Plant Hotel which is now a museum and also it is home of the University of Tampa.

As we approached our destination coming across the river whiile on the bridge we could see the minarets of the museum.

Here is the music room. The hotel was complete in 1891 at a cost of 3 million dollars. The hotel had 500 rooms and is 1/4 mile long. This is a spectacular place to visit.

Here are soe windows with the keyhole design. Also all of the door arches are of the keyhole design.

Tarpon Springs Again

Yesterday was just about a repeat of Sunday. Vicki wanted go down to Tarpon Springs to look around and spend some money. We really didn't get that much time Sunday because we went on the dolphin cruise. It was late when we got back and of course I wanted to see the Super Bowl.
After a time of walking around the Hella's Restaurant was a good place to go eat. Nancy and I have eaten here before so we knew it would be good.

Here is Nancy,Vicki and myself enjoying our Greek food. As usual it was good. After dinner we did some more walking and shopping. Again another good day.

Doctor Visit

Yesterdy the rain was coming down all day long. It was just a sloppy rainy day. Never the less we had a doctors appointment we had to go to . It was just to see what the result of our blood work was. Both Nancy and I are doing real good. She had to get some stronger pain medication because her arthritis is acting up. On the way back we stopped and got some pizzas and crazy bread. The rest of the day was spent inside just setting around. Nancy and Vicki read and me on the computer and then watching a gome on tv.

Tarpon Springs

We went to Tarpon Springs yesterday. Vicki has never been here and she wanted to see what it was all about.

We took this boat out for a senic tour of the river and gulf. We didn't see any dolphins but we saw a couple of manatees.

Here is a shrimp boat in harbor. The captian told us the shrimp boats would go out to sea and stay as long as 3 weeks at a time.

This is the first red boat that I have seen. It looked like a train caboose. We had a nice time here.

Well it looks like the Steelers did it again they won the Super Bowl. It was a good game.
