Life goes on

 Just out of the blue Thursday the doctors said Nancy could go home.

So, without any reason that Nancy is acting like she is slowly going downhill.

She is not acting like herself with that we thought she would be better off at home.

Sherry, Vicki, Joe and I have discussed what we may have to go through and are prepared to do.

Nancy and I have talked to the children about at our ages and what they may be going through.

Nancy's in the hospital.

 Sunday, we had to call the ambulance because Nancy not acting like herself.

The techs on the ambulance said they think they needed to take her to to the hospital to be checked out.

They asked me if she had bumped her head which she had not.

So, they checked to see if she might have had a stroke.  So far, they don't know the reason but are still checking everything.

She thinks she is in a hotel that our son has bought.  She starts to talk about something but can't finish it. because she says she noes what she wants to say.

When we went to see her, she has improved a little.

Lot of apointments and tests.

 Nancy and I went to our Cardiologist yesterday, it was Nancy that had an appointment.

He listened to her heartbeat and lungs and said everything looked good.

I was supposed to have an appointment in February but with her heart and irregular heart beat I forgot about my appointment.

Dr. Siva gave us appointments on the same day and just about the same tests.

Same "O"

 Nancy is about the same.  Having good days and bad days, she has days that she can't remember things that she should.

I went to the cancer center Friday, after not seeing the doctor for around a month ago.

I was surprised when my numbers where higher than I thought it would be.

The doctor told me to cut my in half and take one a week instead of two.

I told the doctor maybe I could get where I would not have to take any medicine.

He said no that I would take some medicine because the pills are helping raise my numbers that my body would not do.

Prayers for Nancy

 Nancy has been saying that she is looking thru a haze and needs to have her eyes checked for new glasses.    Upon getting checked the doctor said the glasses she has are good and she doesn't need new glasses.  He said he is going to check her eyes further.                                                                                     Upon checking her eyes front and behind her eyes that she has Macular Degeneration in both eyes.

She has an appointment with a Retina Specialist June 19th.

Theres more going on with her health that there's no need to post about.

I ask if you will say a prayer for Nancy she is going through a rough time.

Watchman

 The hospital called and they told her to be there at 9:00 am Friday.

So, Vicki, Sherry and I with Nancy was there.  

After all the paperwork it took and much waiting, they finally took Nancy for surgery to have a watchman put in at 11:00 am.

With the watchman put in she will not have to take pill for any blood thinners.

Since we didn't have breakfast, yet we went out for breakfast.

We knew that Nancy would be a while before she would be in her recover room.

So, after us having breakfast, we went out to the gulf waters

It's so relaxing with the breeze coming and watching the fish jumping out of the water.

After getting back to the room Nancy had just come back from the procedure.

The doctor who did the surgery said everything went very well. filled us in what she can and can't do for the next 5 days.

Another Procedure.

 Well, Nancy will be having a procedure called an installation of a Watchman. 

After it is put in she will not have to take any blood thinners.

She will have this done tomorrow.  After the watchman is in place and working as it should and make sure there are no side effects she can leave.  Nancy is hoping it will be tomorrow evening.

Nancy again

 After eleven days Nancy came home.  She was doing well and using her pushcart.

Well, that is until three days ago she was going to the bathroom and instead of setting on the toilet seat she sat on the side of it and fell to the floor hitting her head.

We called the ambulance the guys thought it was better to take her to the hospital to check her.

Checking her they said her heart was going into A Fib again so now she will have to go through another procedure.

Sick, Sick

 Sorry, but that's what has been going on around this household. first it was me who got down with a touch of upper respiratory infection and I'm still not over it.  First, I went to Care One the PA gave me sone pills, a week later I went back he gave me some stronger pills, did not help so yesterday I went to my family doctor more pills plus a shot of something.  This medicine has not kick in yet.

In the meantime, Nancy came down with the same thing plus the hospital she was in found a reason she was so week, she an irregular heartbeat. 

So, she had to have an Ablation. 

The doctors let her come home yesterday after spending her eighty fifth Birthday Saturday and Mother Day Sunday.

Sorry, for not posting but not only did I have a load but so did both of our daughters as one of us was with Nancy all eleven days.

Our daughters are switching.

 Vicki our oldest daughter left after staying two months with us.

Sherry our youngest daughter is down here with us.

We try to tell them they need to stay home because we are old and can take care of ourselves.

I believe they think something will happen to us and they would not be here to take care of us.

Nancy and I keep telling them we may be old but not helpless.

We just got to be by ourselves for a week while were switching for one of them to come down.

Since Nancy can't spend but a short time on her feet I fixed our meals.

Along the coast

 Nancy is doing about the same with all her pain she is not able to do much.

I guess I'm not doing to good myself.  I'm catching myself watching the television too much.

Basketball is coming to a close for the college guys.  There are two more games and the season for them.

                                                                      

When I see a doctor down around St. Petersburg,  I like to come back on Alt 19 along the coast where you can look at the water that is so peaceful.

The trees are bent in different shapes.  On a nice day you will always see boaters out for a nice day.

                                                                           

Here is some guy's fishing.

A nice walking trail.  

Nancy and I walked along her a couple of years back before our health decided to take a nosedive. 

Nothing like siting out by the gulf water.

This route takes you through the town of Dunedin where you can stay a day or two or maybe all winter long.

You will not have a problem finding a place to eat.

Maybe you like fast food or a high-class restaurant, they have it here.

Thought I would post some of the meals we have had.

Hot Dog with good homemade chili, onion rings and Arby's Curly Fries.

Love that homemade chili.

Thought I would try fixing dome Lo Mien noodles with steak, peppers and onions.

Turned out to be really good eating.

I have to say it didn't taste as good as our homemade hot dogs.

We ate here when Vicki drove me to see how my nose surgery was healing.

I still have another follow up in six-weeks and I hope that will be all for now.

Here is what's left of my Denny's Breakfast Special, pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 links of sausage 2 strips of bacon.   All that for $6.99, coffee is extra.

Getting nose in shape

 yesterday I was back at the sinus and nasal institute because Wednesday I had a bad nosebleed and again Thursday morning getting up, I just rub my nose on the pillow lightly the blood came flowing.

So Friday I called and told them I had to have something done and I could not wait two weeks so my appointment.

The lady said you need to come in on Monday they had a constellation at 11:15 am.

After looking at my nose and taking a CT scan of my head, she said she will have to cauterize it using Siver Nitrate.  

She says no lifting no bending over. no rubbing my nose--no anything until I come back to see her.

 I think I'm dealing with scammers again.

I keep getting a popup about extending my McAfee protection. It says Regular $149.00 but now if I hurry and take it, they will let me have it $100.00 off.   Thing of it is I've never had McAfee protection.

                                                                             

I've been eating good like these fluffy pancakes.

                                                                        

Hot Dogs curly fries, onion rings. the fries and onion rings right out of the air fryer.

                                                                         

T-Bone steaks right off the grill.  It really was too long to be grilling on the grill and it really tasted very good.

Last week every morning was with heavy sea mist.

But by noon time it was all clear and sunny.

Nancy is still feeling about the same way.  Some days OK and other days not so good.

I'm doing fair accept nose bleeding other days.

Finaly out in the woods.

 Last week Vicki and I got out and went to the Starkey Park to do a little walking.

I know we could have walked around in Walmart, but I prefer to be out in the woods when I can.

                                                                     

This is a nice clean park, and it has three rest stations if you need to go.

Nice driving through the park with the trees hanging out over the road.

The big winds that we had did uproot some trees.

I know its wintertime but we do have flower spouting here and there.

Here is daughter Vicki enjoying being out in the park with dear old Dad.

Here is a large rest station that will hold a group of people.

Here is an orange tree with a few oranges on it.

Hard to fing orange trees anymore, at one time there where orange trees growing everywhere.

Here is the start of one of the rivers in the area.

Here is a river gauge to see how high the river will rise.

It was so good to get out among the tress and fresh air.

I"ve told Nancy many a time that I feel like a animal in a cage sitting around the house.

Aches and Pain

 I don't think my nose bleed is from an infection because the saline water wash and the antibiotic cream has changed a bit.

I think it will have t be cauterized to stop the bleeding. 

I'm still taking the pills to get rid of the swelling of fluid in my legs.

Nancy is still in pain from her back that she has had for years.

We are just two old people that are going to have aches and pain.

Nose checked out

 After the Sinus and Nasal Doctor looked at my nose she said it looks like it has some infection for the reason of nosebleed.  She cleaned it out then put some ointment and said she would see if that help clear it up.  If it doesn't then she would cauterize it.

In the meantime, 1. Do not blow or manipulate my nose.  2. Avoid all bending lifting or straining.

Now that will be hard for me as I always like being able to keep busy.

Nancy feeling better

 Nancy was feeling a little better yesterday.  She said she felt like she may have covid or a case of the flu.

I do hope she is feeling better when she wakes up this morning.

As for me, tomorrow morning is the day I've been waiting on for a month.  It's the day I get my nose taken care of.  I have to go to the Sinus and Nasal Institute of Florida, which is located down in St Petersburg.

They are going to see why my nose bleeds at any time of the day or night.  I mean really bleeds not like a dripping water faucet but comes in a little stream.

Nancy having though days.

 Sherry has been home for a week and Vicki (our daughters) came down because it looks like I'm going to have some extra help with Nancy.

Nancy is getting a little more forgetful in remember things.  Also, she is having more pain in her back having a hard time walking.  I really worry about her.

Ready for the New Year?

 I hope you made it through the New Year Day feeling refreshed and ready for what lies ahead.

                                                                     

We did our usual thing on this special day making and eating cabbage rolls,

If it looks like I like extra cabbage with my rolls you are right,

I checked on my small pot garden on the back patio. looks like this one will be ready to pick in a day or two.

Serry will be getting on a plane to get back home after being here a long time.

She has been a big help for Nancy and me.

We assured we would be ok doing what needs taking care of, even if it does take us a little longer doing it.
