Work Work Work

Yep,still working. Today it was trimming trees in the back next to the house.  Not very exciting but must be done.  I kno w it doesn't make for a very good blog but,its what I'm doing.

Yesterday was a good day. We went to church,I took my jacket,but by the time we got there the weather was warm enough to take the jacket off.
I spent the remainder of the day putting a wardrobe that we bought. We had to have it because we just didn't have enough space for our clothes.
Today will be cleaning up around the outside and trimming the trees. This is an ongoing thing to do. The warm weather is nice but it causes everything to grow fast.  Up north thats one thing you didn't have to worry about in the winter time.

Those days are over

Well Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday are over,I hope you survived thoase days.

I didn't get out to shop yesterday.  I made that mistake last year.  I woke up at 5:00 am to get to Walmart for an item.  Well I did buy it and thought I did good.  Ha they had that sale with the same price for the next month with a stack of maybe 75 of them. So,I says to myself,that is the last of that trick for me.  I enjoyed the ballgames thursday and friday and expect to do the same today.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone

Looking from the carport up the street looks better then yesterday.  The rain has stopped and the sun shine is bright and beautiful.  A great Thanksgiving Day indeed. Nancy and I have so much to be thankful for that we could never begin to tell you how much.  We would not know where to begin and we would never finish telling you.

I got the ceiling fan up today.  I had to find indoor projects for the day. It has rained just about all day. We did get out and down to Walmart to buy things for our Thanksgiving dinner. It was crowded with everyone doing their last minute shopping.
Nancy and I are going to eat in tomorrow. A turkey would be to much for us so we are having chicken instead. If course with all the usual "Thanksgiving Day" trimmings.
A little later on I will be watching a UK basketball game.

Two Fans

Running around and a little work today.      I went to Lowes and Home Depot to see if there were any bargains to be had.  Nothing that I couldn't do without.  I bought 2 fans at Home Depot. One for the bathroom which I installed.  I had to rework where it went so it would fit.  It was a ceiling fan,I was going to put it in the wall but,the walls on the place are not thick enough so I had to put it in the vent where there was a 12 volt fan before. The other fan is an overhead fan and  goes in the Florida room.

Doctor Today

We had a doctors appointment today.  That always takes up a bunch of time.  It make no difference what time the appointment is you never get in on time.
Frome the doctor we went to Dennys for an early dinner.  We do not eat in Dennys very often,but with a coupon that is good for one free meal when you buy one how can you not eat there.

From Dennys we went to Lowes to buy 3 tomato plants.  Man are the plants high!  I just can't seem to get use to the high prices on everything now days.  I planted the tomato plants when I got home.  See how quick these tomatoes grow. Just kidding one plant had a couple of little geen ones on it already.  Now if I can get them to grow and ripen before it comes a freeze.   

Good Sunday

Again just living the life.  Nothing to write about just everyday things.  Yesterday was spent eating hot dogs that I had grilled.  I watched some basketball games so eating hot dogs seemed like the natural thing to do.
We went to church today and it was good hearing our preacher deliver a very good sermon.  We didn't eat out today.  I grilled pork chops together with pepper and onions,baked potato,corn and bread sticks.  Very good meal.  Reading the Sunday paper and watching a football game at the same time.  

Ribs not Steak

Today was the day I deep cleaned the carpets.  Boy they sure did need it.  The place has been closed up all summer but the dust still finds a way to get in.  After we did our work today we went out to the Long Horn Steakhouse for dinner.  I was going to get a steak,but the waitress said the babyback ribs were fantastic. So I said I guess I will try the ribs.  She was right they were about the best ribs I have eaten.  After dinner we went to a couple of stores just to walk around and then came back home.  Now we will relax for the rest of the evening.

Things are quite

Thats about it. Nothing exciting is happening.    Nancy and I both  got our hair cut today.  The barber that I've been going to has raised his price to $11.00.  That is a little to much for me,so I guess I will have to find another barber that is cheaper.
We had the Little Caesar "Hot and Ready"pizza.  I had a coupon for a free "Crazy Bread" so dinner was cheap today. 
We're just about to the point of getting things straightened out that we can take it a little easy now.

If you guessed still working you're right . We did get to take a short walk around the park and saw the Sand Hill Cranes.

Saw this  bird. It is unusual,because they are usually all white.

Just work

Not to bore you,we are just working,cleaning the place up.  Putting up blinds on the windows. We still have a few things to get out of the motorhome.  I pulled up a bunch of weeds from around the place.  They cut the grass here but they do not cut close to the house.  A few of the people have had water leaks when turning their water on.  Everyone is glad to see each other as they arrive for the winter season.  

Good Day

7:30AM
After the hard work we did yesterday Nancy and I were more than ready for bed.  We slept pretty good considering we were in a different bed. 
We had our breakfast of sausage biscuits and coffee.  The coffee sure did taste very good this morning.
A little later on we will have to get with it and some more work to do.

We worked again all day long.  We spent the biggest part of the day carrying things from the motorhome to the cottage.  It is going to take a few weeks before we can begin to relax and enjoy our time here.

Saturday Morning in Florida

The sun is shining nice and bright here at the Flying J.  You know it must be Florida when you see all the palm trees.  We will get ready to go the last leg of our 6 1/2 month road trip.  I will have to say this has been one of my better summers.  Everything went just the way it should have and we saw some different and did different things.  We got to spend some time with all the family and that is always one of the best things of the trip.

7:30PM

We did make it to our little cottage.  We have been cleaning all afternoon and still have a bunch more cleaning.  The rats found some way in and make quit a mess,so not only cleaning,also sanatizing everything. 

It looks as though the park has worked on the wifi system,because I now have a good signal. 

 

Florida-Free WiFi

11:45 am
We are finaly back in Florida.  The Florida Welcome Center on I-75 now has free wifi and that is where I'm sending this from.  We had a nice short visit with Sherry,Mark and Jeremy.  Even if we would have stayed 1 or 2 weeks it would have been short.
We got up and had breakfast.  After taking a shower I got the car filled up with gas,then took it to get it washed. I then hitched it up to the motorhome.  All this was going on while Nancy was getting ready.
I don't know how far we will get today,especially if all the rest areas have free wifi.


We made it to the Flying J on exit 385 for the night.  It is only a short distance to our park but we wanted to get there early.  We've got a lot to do when we get there and didn't want it to get dark before we got finished.
I checked the other rest areas and it looks as though the Welcome Center is the only place with the wifi.  It would be nice if all the rest areas had the wifi. 

Nice Day

It has cleared up and the sun is shining nice and bright. The temp is 62° with a little breeze.
We went out to check at the Grand Bay Wildlife Management Area to see if maybe sometimes we could take the motorhome and stay. It is nice out there ,but I don't think we will be staying. The roads are dirt and a little rough. It would be ok for someone who tent camps. We are still visiting with Sherry and will be leaving tomorrow for Florida.

Thank You Veteran

Veterans Day,I can remember as a kid that Veterans Day was a very special day. As time passes though some seem to forget what great things that they are able to do because of the Veteran. When you see one thank them.
Today the storm is gone and soon we will be on the road also. We will go all the way to Valdosta to visit with our daugther(Sherry)and family.

We got to the Walmart on Norman Ave. in Valdosta around 3:30 pm. We called Sherry and told her we would bring dinner over. We went into Walmart,bought chicken tenders,potato wedges,cole slaw,macaroni salad and rolls.
Everyone ate and we had a bunch left over for tomorrow. We are now sitting around with Sherry showing us her new netbook computer.
Another great day.

Rain Rain

Well it looks like we may not leave today. Earlier this morning it looked as though we might be able to get on the road. It wasn't raining very much and had some breaks in the rain. But now it is really coming down steady. Its not a problem since we are not suppose to be anywhere at a certain time,but we do need to get going south and get everything set for the winter season.
I don't know how much running around Nick will want to do today.

Yesterday when I was talking about "Infolink" I said run your mouse over the words,I forgot a lot of people use the touchpad on their computer. I should have said cursor. The color of the words are red.

2:00 pm

Well Nick had to go up to Macon,even though it was still raining hard at times we made it there and back ok. The rain has let up now that we are back so I guess most of the storm "Ida"has passed by.

This morning Nick called us and said he was preparing breakfast and wanted us to come into the house. He has breafast each morning but it is early so the kids can eat before they go to school. Since we haven't been for breakfast we did go out this morning. He had some of his belgian waffles. He fixes the best belgian waffle you ever put in your mouth.
After breakfast he and I went out and did the rounds of the stores again. We didn't get back until close to 3:30 pm. Shortly after we got back---you guessed it. It was time to eat again. It seems all we do when we are here is eat.
We were going to leave tomorrow but with the tropical storm Ida coming in with all the rain and wind its kind of "iffy" now. We will just have to wait and see. The good thing about traveling in and RV fulltime or most time is that you are not on a schedule and you can come and go when you want to.


You may have noticed words that are different color and are double underlined in my blog. This is "Infolinks" it is a new way for people that have web pages and blogs to earn a little money for their effort. When you run your mouse over the words an advertisment pops up, if it looks interesting you click on it and see what its about. Each time someone clicks the blogger gets paid. Maybe from time to time there may be someting that you can use and get it.

Sunday--Day of Rest

Today is suppose to be a day of rest and that is exactly what it was. Nick and I did go to Publix and did a very little shopping. We then watched a NBA basketball game on the tv. Then it was sitting around after dinner,talking and nodding off every now and then. Hopefully we can become a little more alive and do someting tomorrow.

Very Little

Very little going on today. Made the rounds with Nick to Lowes and Home Depot. Didn't buy anything. Wasn't anything on sale that we needed. Nancy did her laundry today. We watched a football game then Had some good Little Caesar's "Hot N Ready" Pizza. Then we had cake and coffee. Joann made a good white with white icing cake.

Just a Few Things

I have a few projects to take care of after breakfast.

10:15 am

Well breakfast over,had a shower and the projects finished. Well not very much was to do. Had to fill the holding take with fresh water. Then climb on top of the motorhome to put a new vent cover over the refrigerator.

The old cover that is cracked and broken. I must have hit a low hanging tree branch.

New vent cover installed. The hardest part of that small project was climbing on and off of the top of the motorhome.

Today was another very pleasent day. Nick and I made the rounds of going to several stores. By the time we got back it was dinner.

Here Nick is tying the soft drinks in the back of the truck. He did good because they didn't move.

This evening we attended a great performance world tour 09 "Tops in Blue". It is a group of Air Force men and woman that sing,dance and play instruments. They audition

from all the air bases around the country and these are the best of the best. The performance was fantastic. They play more than 120 shows worldwide at Air Force Bases. The show is free. If you ever get a chace to go,you will not be disappointed,but hold on to your seat. It is a high=impact,high=energy show.

Quiet Night

We were at the Walmart last night and it was a lot quieter that the others that are open 24 hours. The one in Forsyth closes at 9:00 pm. Even parked next to a side road I that that the traffic would disturb us but after it got late we didn't notice any cars going by.
We left this morning and after a very short drive of around 30 miles it arrived at my brother Nick's house. It was good to see them again. Joann had a delicious turkey dinner with stuffing,peas,mashed potatoes,gravy and rolls.
Nick and I went out to the BX to do some shopping and then spent the rest of the evening relaxing.

Good Day

We had a good night at the Walmart lot in Villa Rica,Ga. last night. Again we took our time getting up and getting ready. We drove down route 61 then route 27 until we came to route 16 to route 41 to Forsyth and another Walmart. This is a small Walmart that closes for the night but they gave us permission to spend the night.

It was a nice drive today,we stopped at a very nice park in Newnan to do our walking.

What a night

Last night was not good to me. Around midnight my back started hurting and then shortly afterward I passed a kidney stone. I was up and down most of the night. We got started early this morning but we stopped at the rest area to take our showers an slowly get ready to pull out on I-75. I drove about 8 miles then was back off the interstate. We drove on US 27 to Rome and stopped at a Walmart to get our prescriptions of medicine filled. It took 3 hours to fill them because they had to transfer them from Kentucky. From there I ended up on route 101 south to Villa Rica where we are now at the Walmart for the night.

On Our Way

We were going to stay a couple more days in the Smokies but we woke up this morning with the weather cool and no sign of warming up. We decided to just start our way slowly south. We left out around noon and drove down to the flying J just across the Georgia line. I filled up the gas tank and parked for the night. We like the flyingJ to park in for the night. They usually have plenty of spaces to park in. There are 7 other camping units here also.

Cooler and Rain

The little ones slept good last night and were up early yesterday morning ready for breakfast. Nancy fixed what the wanted and they ate really good. The weather was real nasty,with the temps cooler and a cold rain most of the day. It was a dark dreary day. Joe called and wanted to take us out for dinner so we got ready and met him,Cherisa and her mom. We had a good good dinner and as usual over did it,but it was so good. After eating and talking a while we left and stopped in Walmart for some groceries. Rest of the night was spent watching football and on the computer.
