Pigeon Forge on Labor Day Week-end means several things. It is crowded with a lot of traffic and people getting that last holiday of the summer. Where has the summer gone? It sure did pass fast for me.
This is the time for our family reunion. It is always good to get togetner for talking and eating and seeing each other once again. We had our saturday meal yesterday and I took a few pictures, but wouldn't you know I couldn't get them from the disc so thats a bummer. Well I still have a few days to take more.
This is the travels of Joe and Nancy. Nancy is part Cherokee and I'm Hungarian, thus the name of our blog. We started full timing May,1,2000. We traveled in our motorhome visiting beaches, state parks, national parks, corp of engineer parks. We have overnighted in Walmarts, 24 hour grocery store, boat ramps, FlyingJ. Now with health issues and old age. Plus, we have not used the motorhome in a few years, this part of our life has come to an end.

Pigeon Forge,Tennessee
Well we didn't get disturbed last night so we were able to sleep through the night. Nancy and I went to the laundromat and fooled around qwuite a while before heading into Pigeon Forge. The plan was to stay overnight in The Pro Bass Shop north of the interstate. When I called yesterday they said it would be ok to do so,but when we got there, there was a sign no overnighting due to a city ordinance. I didn't know the Sevierville city limit was that far out.
The city of Sevierville is just not rv friendly. So we came on into Pigeon Forge and are spending the night in the Walden Creek Campground. This is a PassPort America campground so I get it 1/2 price which makes it nice.

Rain,Fog,Drizzle and Sunshine Had it All
If you are traveling I-75 and are south of Lexington,Kentucky you might check out Renfro Valley, where country music got started.
Also not far from the is the London Welcome Center where you can empty your holding tanks and fill up with fresh water.
We left Williamsburg this afternoon on a wet muggy rainy foggy day. Not a very good traveling day,but on to our next stop for the night which was 71 miles down the road in Knoxville,Tennessee. We stopped at the Mall and walked around some and when we came out the sun was shining. We are at the Sams Club for the night just across the road from the East Town Center Mall. There is no overnighting in the Mall lot but I checked with Sams Club and they said it would be ok. I hope we don't have the police knocking on our door in the middle of the night.

Raining All Day
It has been raining all day long. We left the London WalMart this afternoon and drove a total of 19 miles to the Williamsburg WalMart to spent the day. You may be wondering why so slow? Well we don't have a reservation until friday at our campground in Pigeon Forge,so we just take our time. Anyway who wants to drive in the rain. We just sat around and enjoyed the rain hitting on top of the motorhome.

London,KY Tonight
We left Lexington this afternoon and pulled out on I-75 and headed south. I took my time driving at 50-55 mph. There really was no hurry since we don't have to be in the Smokie Mountians until friday. I drove a total of 71 miles. I emptied my tanks and filled up with water at the London Welcome Center on exit 38. We are parked at another WalMart for the night.

Still in Lexington,KY
Yes we are still here enjoying our time with Vicki,Richard,Rebecca and Rachel. We really don't get to spent enough time with them and when we do its great and we have such a good time.
Richard cooked another one of his excellent dinners. He always does such a good job of preparing a meal for us.
We overnighted in the WalMart parking lot. I asked and received permission to stay 2 nights, which is good because I didn't have to move to find another place for to night.
We will be going back over to Vicki and Richards today and visit all day.

Have a Connection
Well I'm finally back online. For the past week we have been visiting Nancy's sister Jackie in the deep woods of Kentucky and I couldn't get a connection on my computer so I was lost. But we are in Lexington,Ky. now so I can update. We have had a good time with our visit and shopping in the area, riding the 4 wheeler was fun. The people in the area of Jackies house are such fine and kind people that you wouldn't find anywhere else.
We did go out to a local county park to explore. The park at one time was nice but lately has been negleted and in need of many repairs. Never the less it it a great place to walk and explore.

It has been so dry in this area that there is no water coming over the falls.
When the water is running you can take a path to got under the falls. This was fun to get out in the woods again and look around.
Week will stay here in Lexington visiting our daughter Vicki for the week end and then traveling south ever so slowly to the Smokie Mountains for the family reunion.
We spent the night parked a the Cracker Barrel and when Nancy is ready will will go in and have breakfast. We thank the Cracker Barrel for leting us spent the night in their parking lot.

Ohio
I went with Don to Waverly,Ohio. He went up there to see a car that he thought he might trade for, which he did.
I don't know why a guy has to clean up his old car when he goes to trade for another car,but we always do. Here is Don giving it a good vacuuming.

Nothing different is happening here. We are still enjoying our time here visiting and eating way to much. We went to church in Crum,WV. yesterday were Don is the pastor. It is a 150 mile round trip so that takes up most of the day. It was a nice sunny day and Don did his usuall good preaching.
Jackie and Nancy sang a couple of songs and they also did good. This was the first time in a while that they had been together singing.

After we got into Huntington we stopped and had a sub sandwich at the Penn Station. These subs have to taste better then all the others out there.
After we got home we rested a while and then went to WalMart for a few things. After we got back as I said before about us eating too much,we had a great tasting blueberry cobbler with ice cream. Yummy, thanks Peach. Another very good day.

Loafing
Yesterday we spent the time more or less loafing. First we took our prescription for our medicines to WalMart to be filled, from there we went over to Arby's for lunch. After lunch we went over to the Mall and walked off a little of the lunch. Then we went down town to Huntington to Pullman Square where we ended up at the Cold Stone Creamery for ice cream, thank you Don for the ice cream. We walked a little around the square. Then back to WalMart to pick up our medicine and do some grocery shopping, then we were finished for the day. When I said we,it was Peach,Don,Jackie,Nancy and myself,a very good day.

On the River
We stayed at the town of St, Albans River Front Park last night. This is a 3 site place with electric and they have water with a dump station with no charge but they do ask for a donation. It is very peaceful and right across the road from a small strip mall.
I like to sit and watch the river traffic. Here is a coal barge come up the river.

Remote But Nice
Being out like we are has its advantages and disadvantages. Its 30 miles to a WalMart, but if you need groceries at the local market its only 13 miles to get there.
That little white speck is our motorhome across the lake. It has been very nice sleeping weather here. The night time temp has been 58-60 degrees and with the window open we are serenaded to sleep by the frogs and awaken by the birds and their morning songs.
