Great weekend

Yesterday was a little different in that Nancy said she thought she was strong enough to go to church.  She indeed was strong enough and we enjoyed it so much being able to go to church.
On the way home we stopped at Caposey's Restaurant for our dinner which was off of the breakfast menu and very good. When we got back home and changed clothes Nancy just plopped down in her comfortable recliner.
In reporting back on the string of 12 volt LED lights that are connected to the cheap Sunbeam 9 volt battery. The lights continue to burn at the 177 hour mark. I don't know how long they will continue. I will report again on them. The LED's are very good they will last longer and have a much cooler temperature than the  incandescent bulbs, thus saving you money in the long run.
Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a great day.

Just doing

Yesterday was the usual day of stocking the bird feeder and watering the flowers. The birds and squirrels are happy to be getting a full load of the seeds from Ace Hardware.
I made up a few more led panel lights by putting the right base on them. I was dissapointed that two of the ten lights I ordered did not light up.
Then Nancy and I went to Walmart to get a very few groceries. While walking around we sample some Tyson Chicken Nuggets and a smiley potato from a demonstrator in the store. The chicken nuggets were good.
On the way home we had a Wendy's burger and chicken sandwich. Nancy had a salad and I had the fries. We had a senior drink which was free.
The evening ending with Nancy reading a book on her tablet and I did the tv and computer thing. Another more or less relaxing day.  Nancy did her walking better and she is getting stronger, but she has her up and down days.
Here it is another weekend,it seems like they come every couple of days. When you have to work the weekends take forever coming.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Pizzza and LED lights

Yesterday I had to  go out and buy some more bird seeds for all my little wild animal friends. I found out that the little critters are kind of fussy about what they eat. The best seeds that tey prefer are the ones from Ace Hardware.
On the way back from buying the bird seed I stopped to get us a pizza from Little Caesar's. We have our pizza day on wednesday, because that is when they have their special price of $4.75 including tax.
I saw another fender bender on the way back home.
I bought some of the 12 volt led string lights off of Ebay to use in the motorhome and maybe here in the house. There are 300 lights to a string and you can cut every 3 lights to make up whatever you want. Even though the lights are 12 volt they will light up with a 9 volt battery.  They do not use very many amps so that saves battery power.
I wanted to experiment and see how little power that they do use,so I cut a string of 6 lights and connect them to a 9 volt battery. This was one of the 9 volt batteries from Dollar Tree the Sunbeam brand.  I wasn't expecting it to last very long. But this set of 6 led lights have been burning for 81 continuous hours. So on a 12 volt rv battery they will be very good. Of course a string of 6 are only good for maybe a night light. I thought by doing this it might be of some use for someone considering buying the led lights.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Nancy's report

We had the report on Nancy's bloodwork yesterday and it looks somewhat better. The number that was low(GFL) whatever that is went from 18 up to 25. the number should be around 60 which is normal. They tell us once the kidneys are damaged they will not get back to being normal but if she can keep the number from going into 15 or lower she won't have to be on dialysis. She has been watching what she eats and that has helped her.
So her problems are like the cactus in the park. They are blooming but you still have to keep an eye on it.
I'm sure there are people up north would like to see some flowers in bloom rather than all the snow and rain they have been getting.
So with Nancy doing better we can start making our traveling plans for the summer-----I hope. I still have to get the skin cancer on my forehead cut out on May 13th and we will go from there.  Like I said before we have had an unusual season this year.
Thanks for stopping by and I wish you health and strength,do have a great day.

BBQ Ribs

Saturday I had to do some running around to different stores. First was Walmart to pick up our month supply of medicines, then it was to Ace Hardware for bird seeds(which they didn't have),from there it was to Sams Club for bbq ribs that I had seen the day before. I should have bought them the first time but I didn't and Nancy tells me I always do that. Then after leaving Sams I stopped at the Dollar General Store. From the a short stop in Wa Wa to get Nancy a Caramel Steamer coffee which she and I like very much. By the time I got home Nancy had all the sides for supper and we warmed up the ribs for a very good meal.
Yesterday  was a day for sitting and resting,I don't know what we were resting from, but I think that is what you are suppose to do as you get older.
Today we go in for our check up with the doctor and also see what the report will be on Nancys bloodwork.
Thaks for stopping by and have a great day.

Raccoon

Yesterday was another walk day for Nancy. I'm trying to get her to walk more to build up her strength and she is doing pretty good. We went to Sam's Club to do some walking, because the temperature was close to 90 again. It was cool in the Sam's Club and not very crowded.
As we were coming home we saw this accident that had happened a short time ago. There were several police cars a fire truck and an ambulance. They were taking one person out of the car.
Now on to the raccoon.
Hey you, what do you think you're doing?
Uh oh,caught in the act. I was going out to feed the squirrels and birds yesterday and caught this bandit getting the seeds and bread crumbs.
I was sitting there taking several photos and when the raccoon was finished eating it started towards me. Thats when I got up and came in the house. Friendly or not I didn't want to take a chance of being bitten by a maybe rabid raccoon.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Shopping & Shopping

Nancy did fair walking yesterday when we went out to do some shopping. Like everyone these days we try to find the best bargins we can. First it was Walmart to pick up a prescription for Nancy and also get her all the things that women get to make them more beautiful. Then it was to Save A Lot for the grocery things. By the time we got back home she was ready to call it a day. I went to Little Caesar's to pick up a "Hot & Ready" for our dinner.
Each day people are leaving the park and heading north. It is beginning to look quite empty with all the rv's leaving and the park model closing up their places.
I sure like it that the price of gas is coming down. It is now $3.28 a gallon for regular gas and the way the price of oil is trading I'm looking for the price to be lower.
Thanks for stopping by and do have a great day for yourself.

Boat Parade

Even though I reported that the kidney doctor said it was ok for Nancy to travel this summer we may be going or we may not. Nancy still is not doing good and another thing the doctor told her was that she is in stage four of kidney failure with stage five complete failure it has us very concerned. Nancy has been eating different trying to get her levels in better shape. We will have to wait and see on her next bloodwork in a couple of weeks. Please keep Nancy in your thoughts and prayers.
It was a beautiful day saturday so I went to Harbor Freight for a few things. As I was crossing the bridge over the river I noticed a lot of boats,so I drove up the river road to see what was up. They were going to have a boat parade.
I had my window down and I could hear the radios blaring from the boats.
Nice flowers along the shore.
Chairs waiting for someone to sit down.  There were a few hundred people out to see the parade.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Looking good

Nancy had her appointment with the kidney doctor yesterday and even though she is feeling much better her whatever on her blood work is up more than it should be. Nancy asked her if it would be alright to take off for the summer and the doctor told her she(lady doctor) did not see any problems with doing so. She told Nancy to have some more bloodwork while we were traveling and keep an eye on the elevated numbers. So that is kinda like good news.
And today I go back to the joint doctor to see what he has to say about the fluid on my knee. Draining it didn't help but for a short time,it filled back up again.  If we were not seeing the doctors so much this season,we might get a few things done.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Kidney stone

Yesterday Nancy and I went to do a little shopping at Walmart. I was glas she decided to go because she needs to get out and get some of her strength back. After we got back home I asked her how she felt and she said good but tired.  I said thats good and she said what do you mean. I said it is better to feel a little tired after doing something that feeling tired not doing anything. But like I say she is doing better.
For the past five days I had what I thought was a stomach virus with enough pain for a couple of people. Nancy tried to get me to go to the doctor but I told her it would get better. Well late yesterday evening, out it came,a kidney stone.
You may not want to see this but those of you that don't know what a kidney stone looks like here it is.  This little booger is 6cm in size and was causing all the pain for five days. Oh yeah I usually make one every couple of years or so. So our unusual season continues with different things.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope your day is a great one.

Mice

Well one more game and the NCAA Tournament is over.  I don't think anyone got the bracket filled out right other than maybe Louisville being the national champs. We will have to wait until tonight to find that out.
I had some trouble with mice in my motorhome. They chewed some wiring in behind the refrigerator. So upon reading what is suppose to keep them away. I put out bounce dryer sheets and also some irish spring soap. I've had these two things out for a week and so far no evidence of anymore mice around. They didn't chew the wiring so much that I can't repair it in a short time. I just hope they haven't done any damage that I can not see.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Doing better

Nancy had her appointment with the cardiologist thursday and even though her blood pressure was high it is down quite a bit. The cardiologist now is more concerned about the weakness that she is feeling. He checked the medicine that she is taking and told her to stop taking a couple of them to see if that will make any difference in her feeling weak. He didn't want her to stop taking too many of them at one time in fear of her blood pressure shooting back up. So we take this as good news finally.
Yesteday I went to the flea market and got a few things we needed plus some vegetables at a better than store price.
Of course today is the NCAA Final Four and you know what I will be doing. I told Nancy after basketball season I won't be watching tv as much. As far as I like watching tv,give me a good old western movie anyday.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Sad note

I woke up this morning with the news that sheriff Eugene Crum of Mingo County,West Virginia had been shot and killed yesterday. Eugene was a friend of mine from way back as we worked together for a few years before he became interested in politics.
Today Nancy has an appointment with the cardiologist and get a full report of the cath he did last week, then we will go from there. This has been a long drawn out process for a year now trying to figure out what is wrong with Nancy.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Have a good dinner

I hope you enjoyed your Easter weekend. Did you have a nice dinner at home or go out and have yourself served in a restaurant? Nancy and I had the left over beef stew which was just as delicious as it was saturday.
The park is slowly emptying out with everyone going back north for the season. A bunch of the ones that are here were enjoying the sunshine and warm temperatures by being in the pool yesterday.
Nancy has her appoinment with the cardiologist thursday. She is going to see him about taking her off of the heart medicine since her didn't find anything that looked wrong during the catheterization.
Maybe one of these days we will get out to do a little walking. Nancy said she thought she was going to feel like doing the walking yesterday, but by the time she got ready she didn't feel like it.
Thanks for stopping by for the visit and have yourself a great and wonderful day.
