Laundromat

It was that time again yesterday.  Nancy loaded up several washers then I noticed that the coin light wasn't working on one of them,so I asked the lady at the desk if that one was out of order. She informed me it was indeed not working and Nancy had to unload it and fill another one.
After getting thru with the laundry it was time to eat,we went to the Ponderosa and had the buffet. It was $5.29 plus the drink for the senior price. The buffet had a little of everything. We took some wings and I had a hot wing or two and all the food tasted good. We made a good choice of the place to eat for the day.  After eating I stopped at the Kroger gas station for gas at the price with a Kroger card was $3.26 the cheapest price in town.
Then it was to Walmart for a few things. Have you ever noticed that a car doesn't want to pass a Walmart without stopping in?
It was another good full day for us.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Good day and evening

Yesterday was a long walk around the neighborhood to see the many houses, cabins on the hillside.
Outdoor fireplace sitting in one of the yards.
No one will be using this bench.
Nice little flower garden in another yard.Yesterday evening we went to a gospel sing in Flemingsburg,Kentucky.
It was actually a dinner and singing in the park. They had hamburgers, hotdogs, potato salad.macaroni salad.baked beans. It was to help the Menifee boys basketball team to get a few things.
This is Isaiah's Cry which did some good singing.
And this is a Bluegrass gospel group that did a great job with their playing.
Some of the ladies had baked goods which were auctioned off as well as a few things from the towns business people.  It was a good evening in the park with the eating and singing and visiting with the people of the area.
Thanks for stopping by again or if you are a first timer, come back again.

Humming Birds

Thursday was a full day of going to Walmart for groceries, then it was time for a bite to eat. We went to China Star for their buffet and ate more than a bite. After eating and a bit of conversation it was off to Kroger for more groceries.  Jackie likes to get her meats from Kroger rather than Walmart and so do we.
Yesterday it was more of hummer watching.

You can see this little one with its tongue sticking out getting the nectar off its beak.   I'm able to get within 3 feet of the humming birds as they are getting use to me being close. This one seems to be the young one of the bunch and the ruby throat doesn't attack it like it does the rest of them when it comes to the feeder.
It is very relaxing watching the humming birds feed and fight among themselves.

WOW

Yeah a big WOW. Thats what happens when you sit in one place and really have nothing to report.  The only thing we did get to Walmart to get our perscriptions filled for our medicine. How exciting is that?
I did buy a humming bird feeder. Before we went fulltiming in 2000 we always had a couple of the feeders hanging in the large tree in the front yard. Nancy would spend time setting in the swing on the front porch watching the humming birds feed and fight among themselves.
This is the first one since then. I hung the feeder on the arm of the side window awning where we could get a close look at the birds.
It didn't take long for the little humming birds to find the feeder.

Thanks for stopping by the blog.  Have yourself a great day.

Hanging in here

Back to the laundromat yesterday.  Nancy could do her washing and drying with Jackies washer and dryer, but she says it would take all day.  Doing it at the laundromat in several machines it only take a couple of hours.
Nancy is still not feeling very well and I would like to thank all of you that is wishing her well.  She has another doctor appointment in two weeks.
So we won't be doing much of anything until she gets everything under control.
Hope everyone has a nice day and thanks for stopping by.

Doctor's Appointment

Yesterday we went to Morehead and as it is everyday we had a thunderstorm.  Nancy had a doctor appointment to see about a couple of things.  As it turns out we will have to stay here until she can get them under control.
When we started back to the motorhome we took the ridge road and as you can see the fog was starting to settle in.  We took the road because sometimes you can see some kind of wild life. We did see one wild turkey.
Thanks for stopping by.

Little things

We sure have been getting more than our share of rain here in the hills of Kentucky.  We usually have hard rain and sunshine all in one day.
Yesterday it was time to dump the black tank.  So we packed everthing in the go mode, let the jacks up and off to the dump down at the Twin Knobs Campground. After driving the 14 miles to the park and telling the attendent I needed to dump he says,"we are having trouble with the dump".  With all the rain water going into the tank it was full and he would have to check it out to see if it had gone down.  We were lucky it was good to dump again.
If we had the blue boy tote tank there is a place here at Jackies house to dump, but we do not so we have to do what we have to do.
We still have no idea how long we will be here as there are a couple of issues that need to be taken care of.

Repairs Finished

Even though it rained all day friday we still got out and did our grocery shopping.  We got a late start so Jackie took us to a Mexican Restaurant for lunch. The food was good and the service also.
After that it was off to Walmart for a few things and the next stop was Kroger.
Yesterday was a work day for me. I installed thenew front wheel hub bearings and while having that all apart I put new front brake pads. I thught the brake pads would be worn completly out at 70,000 miles, but they were not even half way.  Since I has already bought the new pads with lifetime warranty I put the new ones on.
I took a test drive after installing all of the things on the front end and it did improve the ride somewhat. Don thought for sure I was going to have a wheel fall off before I repaired it.  Thanks Don.
It was off to Bigwood Church this morning and they had a small snack afterwards for a couple of their people that are moving to Arizona. Theres a bunch of nice friendly people that attend this church.

Rain

We did go to the laundromat yesterday.  I have to say it was a lot better than the last one where we were.  The name of this one is-the university laundromat.  It is clean and they have large fans to cool the place down.
After doing the laundry,we ate at Penn Station which was very good.
We have plans to go shopping and taking Jackie with us to do her shopping.  That is if we don't get rained out. It has been a steady rain all night long and still raining this morning.
Thanks for stopping by.

Busy

Its off to the laundromat again today and I sure hope its better than the last time.
I ordered two front wheel bearing hubs from ebay and they came in yesterday.  It only took three days and I saved $59.00 over the local price.
I will have to wait a couple of days before I can start exchanging them.  First we've got the laundry to do today and grocery shop tomorrow.
I'm in hopes this will improve the front end ride.
Thanks for dropping in.

Around the Neighborhood

Just hanging around the house trying to get the bays in the motorhome in order.
Walking around the hilltop looking at the different houses(cabins).  Some of the places are empty, some are weekend living and some are full time living houses.

We will be here visiting and catching up on doing some repairs and other necessary things. Often times we have to do other things besides running around and having fun.
Thanks for stopping by.

Shopping Day

Yesterday was a shopping day for Nancy and Jackie.  The first stop was Walmart where they bought the non perishable groceries.
Then it was to Ci Ci's for a bite to eat. Jackie paid for our meal, thank you Jackie.
After eating and a bit of conversation off to the next stop was Krogers.  A few more groceries like meats and the things that need to be in the  refrigerator.
On the way back we had to take a short detour around this accident. There is a traffic light here at the intersection, but looks like it didn't help this time.  More than a couple of times I have come to a traffic light where I had the green light and someone pulls out in front of me.  For some reason they do not want the motorhome getting in front of them.  If you haven't driven a large motorhome or truck you just don't know that they're not that easy to stop.
One of the hummings birds that is at the feeder that Jackie has for them.
We had another nice day.
Thank you for visiting my blog and do come back again.

Good Travel

We started out yesterday at 1:00 and as usual we took our time.  We had to stop at Walmart for a few things.  Then I stopped at FlyingJ to fuel up. I had enough fuel to get down to Pigeon Forge, but though I would fill up just in case the gas prices decided to start going up.  Don checked on the FlyingJ price before we left and saw it was $3.17 a gallon.  I used the Advantage Card I have with FlyingJ and got .002 off so that made it $3.15 was better.
More help on the way.  We saw this line of about 25 trucks coming to help to restore electric power for those still without.  Hope they get it restored quickly. With the temps in the 100's not a time to be without the airconditioner.
After traveling through the mountains(I mean really through the mountains) we got to Jackies house safe and sound.  Jackie had the chick'n dumplins waiting for me. Her and Peach has me spoiled making me the chick'n dumplins, man good eating.

Time to leave

Today is one of the sad things about visiting with the family members. Thats right it is once again time to say goodbye to Peach and Don. As with visiting each of the family we have had a great time. We do cherish the time that we have and thankful that we can spend as much time with each visit.
We will be leaving when we get ready today. Whatever that time will be.
The next stop will be to Jackies and her family in Kentucky.
One of the good things is even though we are saying goodbye is that we will see them again at the Family Reunion in the Smokie Mountians in September.
Todays drive will be around 125 miles so not a big day of driving.

Thank you for dropping in do come back again.

Andy Griffith, Mayberry’s Sheriff Andy Taylor, dies at 86.  That was the sad news for yesterday for a large number of people that watched "the Andy Griffith Show"  I was one of those, and I still like the reruns.

Yesterday we did do the laundry at George's Laundy in Milton,WV.  I wouldn't recommend going here and we won't again.  Water  from the washers is running in the floor, some od the dryers are out of order, three carts with two of them the wheels do not turn.  They do not have airconditioners and not even any fans. It was a bad time. Poor Nancy was miserable.

Happy 4th to everyone.   We were treated to a fireworks show last night. That I watched out the window of the motorhome.

I hope you have a great and safe day.  Thanks for dropping in and do come back.

Grilled Chicken

We were suppose to have more storms sunday evening but nothing developed, just a little rain.
Yesterday we were going to go to the laundromat and that didn't happen.  With Nancy getting ready and her on the phone,it was to late in the day to go.
Don and Peach are once again up to full service with the tv,phone and internet service being restored yesterday.
Don grilled some chicken, using the bbq sauce that Peach makes up. It has a little sting to it but it sure tastes the best.
We will again try to get to the laundromat today.

More about the Storm

Don and I got out yesterday to see what damages the friday evening storms did.  There were a few trees down in the area. The big problem is the electric power is out in many of the places in West Virginia and may be out for a week.
One gas station had electric in Milton and a line of 30 or more cars waiting to get gas.  By yesterday eveing a few more stations got power and were soon running out of gasoline.
The governor  has issused a state of emegency with 54 of the 55 counties without electric power.
Here in the section where we are there is electric power, but the phone lines are down. So this is one time we are thankful for the cell phone.
Hope things are good for you today.
