Mexican Dinner

Yesterday I thought I would do the whole dinner for us.  So I had to run down to the store to get all the ingredients to put the meal together.

When it was all together it was a Mexican dinner.  We started out with having chips and white cheese dip that I made.  Then it was a plate full of chicken with grilled peppers and onion, rice, refried beans with a little of the white cheese on it a wrap, and a salad.  It was good and stuck with us for the rest of the day.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Yeah, no appointments today

Well Saturday was not an all day for college basketball.  I had some running around to do.
First it was to Home Depot to get some wiring that I needed for a small project.  Then it was a stop into Aldi's to get a couple of items for the meal that we were to have.
Next on the list was Save-A-Lot to get a ham with bone in it that we really like.
Next on the list was Hudson Hardware Store for a couple of stainless countersunk head screws.
Next but not last was WinnDixie soft drinks and a few more groceries.

"Whew" then the last was Burger King to pick us some sandwiches for our supper.

Yesterday I got the grill out to grill a couple of steaks with onions and peppers on them.
Yes there are a couple of steaks in that pile.  As always things just seem to taste better when you prepare it on the grill.  Nancy had a baked sweet potato and salad with hers and I had a baked potato with salad.

Today will be one of those days when we do not have a doctor appointment and it sure will be nice not having to go and sit waiting on the doctor.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Hot Days

We have had a week of tying or breaking the high temperature each day of the high 80's.
And you can tell it by the numbers increasing of the people getting in the pool.

Yesterday it was time to see the Therapist and actually start doing some therapy.
After she did some shoulder massaging then it was time to start the arm moving in different positions to move the rotator joint around and around.  Then it was my turn to do several different shoulder exercises a number of times while she watched to make sure I was doing them right.
It didn't seem like I was doing to much but after I was finished I could tell I was because I was a little tired.

Today is Saturday again.  I thought there was suppose to be seven days a week but it seem like there are only two or three days between the Saturdays anymore.  It sure would have been nice if the days had gone by this fast when we were working.  I guess everyone feels the same way after you retire you are so busy that you wonder how you had time to work at you job.

I will watch a few college basketball games and then maybe get into something else.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Escaping the heat

Yesterday was a slow day for us, but I did take a load of laundry down to the laundry room here in the park.

It was another one of our nice day today with a few clouds and a lot of sun.

This scene of an empty pool is not the way it is through the heat of the day.  But this is late in the evening as you can tell by the long shadows over the pool.  With the temperatures in the range of 85 and higher the pool is being used and enjoyed more these days.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

More Appointments

Well here we go.
Monday it was Nancy going to the Cardiologist to get a report on all the test that she has been going through to have her heart checked out.  It was just as we thought it would be it would be since she has never had any heart problems all came back negative
The Cardiologist did tell her that the support hose the her Nephrologist to her to buy at Walgreens were not the best to be wearing.  So now she has an appointment to be measured up for a pair of support hose that will put the right amount of pressure on her legs.

Yesterday I had the appointment with the Therapist to start my therapy.  The first thing I found out was that I was doing all the things that was not good for my shoulder.   I have been lifting more than I should have been and really should not have been moving it in the correct way so soon.
So yesterday was a more or less just getting to know one another to start.
She did give me a couple of exercises to do at home.  She (Therapist) says I will have to come in for therapy for two times a week for total of four weeks.,

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Appointments again?

Well some of the College Basketball Games were good and some of them not so.
This season there are a bunch of upsets and I guess the reason for it is that no one team is really that good and are having a stand out season.

The temperatures have turned to what the snowbirds come to Florida to enjoy.  This week the temperatures will be day time in the 80's and night time in the low 60's.

This week we have Nancy scheduled for two doctor appointments with today being with the Cardiologist to get a report on the tests that she has been going through.  These are the result of her  Nephrologist ordered up to make sure her heart was not causing some of her problems.
Of course Nancy has never had any heart problems so we are not waiting on anything different.

Tomorrow I have an appointment to do some therapy for my shoulder and bicep after the surgery that I had a couple of weeks ago.

Sometimes getting old is no fun, but hey that life----go with the flow and don't fight it.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Nancy still getting checked

Yesterday we were out the door again, but not early for Nancy had to have an x-ray for her  Nephrologist.  She was going to have her blood drawn at Lab Corp but we got there late because we didn't know that they closed at 3:00.
They are open today until noon so we will have it done today.

We stopped to eat at Frank's where we have not eaten since he moved to a different place that is just down the road from where he used to be.  The building is much larger and he still has an over flowing crowd each day.

We got there around 3:45 when there were not many people.   Even though he has a large place the prices are still the same.  I had two grilled pork chops with fries and slaw. But first I started off with a cup of clam chowder and finished with a desert all of that for $9.49.

By the time we finished our meal the place was full and people waiting for a table.

Today is another college basketball game day so after bringing Nancy back from her time at Lab Corp I will settle in for the day to watch the games.  That is unless something else comes up.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Nancy getting checked again

Monday Nancy had to go in for a Nuclear Stress Test at 1:00.  The technician said it would take three hours to complete.  All of these test are the result of her legs that had swollen up and the Nephrologist wanted to make sure that it wasn't her heart that was causing the problem.

With Nancy going to be tied up for three hours I was out of there to do some thing that I had to do.
I then went back to pick Nancy up twenty minutes early but it took three and a half hours so I had to wait another hour before she was finished.

Since Nancy didn't have anything to eat from the night before and it was 4:30 I stopped at a Burger King to get the two sandwich for $6,00 special.
Nancy had a Crispy Chicken with onion rings and I had the Big Whopper with fries.
We brought the food home to eat and relax after Nancy's busy day which left her more than tired.

Yesterday I spent most of the day working on a small project that Nancy has been wanting me to do.
It doesn't matter how many things that you are working on there are many more to do,  especially if your full timing rig is sixteen years old.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

A few things done

Friday was fairly a busy day.

First thing I did was go to Home Depot to buy a new sprayer for the kitchen faucet.
It has had a slow leak for quite some time and I tried everything I know and nothing would stop the leak.  It was in the sprayer its self  so nothing but to buy a new one.

After getting the faucet in good working order it was time for doing the laundry.
We had several loads to do.  Nancy said she felt good enough to help me so off we went.

We must have been a sight walking down to the laundry room.  Nancy walking with a cane in one hand and a bag with the clothes hangers in the other.  Me with the sore shoulder that I still can't lift much weight and carrying the laundry basket under one arm.
We were two tired old people by the time we got back home, but we got finished.

Saturday Nancy had a really good breakfast to start my day.
I had two eggs with diced sweet mini peppers and diced onions, a diced fried potato, three slices of bacon, a biscuit and a cup of coffee.
Now that was a breakfast to get a fella going.  But wait I wasn't going anywhere?
Remember it was Saturday and that means College Basketball Games day.  And what a day it was with the day full of upsets.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Good tasting meal

We were out the door again yesterday a little early because Nancy needed to have some blood drawn that her Urologist had ordered up.

We went to Lab Corp which is only a few miles down the road from where we are staying.
By the time we got back home she was more than ready to have her breakfast.

The mail person brought the propane grill that I had ordered from Amazon so I put it all together.
I always buy the small grills that last for a year because they are cheap and small so it doesn't take up much space.
Later on in the evening I took a small steak out of the refrigerator to spice up and put on the grill.  While I was doing that Nancy was spicing up some fresh vegetables and cooking them in the small
table top oven.
The meal was really good and filling that put a pleasant smile on both of our faces.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Motor Home Mural

Nancy and I are still hanging in here. Nancy had to have a sonogram on her legs Monday because her Urologist wanted to make sure her heart was not giving her the problems she has been having with her legs swelling.  The Urologist has .a few more test for her to be done.

It seems as though all we have been doing this winter is having doctor appointments. I guess you got to do what ever it takes in order to keep on going.

I have been looking at the back of this motor home where a guy has been doing this mural for the past week.  He is only on it for a short time at a stretch, not full time.  He may do this part time and works somewhere else full time.

My shoulder is still a little sore from the surgery that I had a week from last Monday.
I'm  anxiously waiting to get started on my rehab which starts this coming Thursday.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

The Super Bowl.

Saturday was my usual Saturday in that I was watching the College Basketball Games for most of the day.  While watching the games I was enjoying hot dogs and chips.
Some games went as expected and other games where big upsets.  Now I like those upset games but not when the team I'm rooting for is the loser.

Our friends Sam and Carolyn came over for a visit and we were glad to see them and catch up on a little news.

I will be doing today watch a million other people will be doing and the will be watching The Super Bowl.
I don't watch NFL very much but I do watch the Super Bowl.   The same thing with baseball about the only games I watch is the World Series.

I didn't buy anything extra to eat while watching the game but I'm sure with all the food we have here I will not go hungry.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Doctor follow-up

I went to see the Orthopedic Surgeon yesterday for a follow-up.  The stitches were removed by a young man working for the doctor and then he put some tape on each wound the he said will fall of itself in a week or so.
When the doctor came in he asked me where my sling was and I told him it was home the I haven't been wearing it all the time.
He went over what he did at the time of the operation, I asked him about the bicep and he said I had worn out my bicep.  He then showed me a picture of my bicep that looked like a pile of straw.
He did say that he attached what he could back to the bone. I asked if I would be able to worked the muscle back up?  The answer was I could somewhat but the muscle would have no form to it since it had been  shredded so much.
I will start rehab in a couple of weeks doing the motion exercise.  Then two weeks of the strengthening  exercises.
He said it would be ok to drive and also don't try to do too much until I start the rehab.

So I guess the fun is about to begin.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
