March Madness

I watched College Basketball Saturday the games were good if your teams won which all three of the ones I was rooting for won.
Now I'm ready for the month of March for March Madness that I think is going to start this week or maybe next week.

After my big breakfast Saturday we have been having egg with ham on a biscuit for breakfast.
Only this morning we had a Belgium Waffle and Sausage with a cup of coffee.

I took Nancy to have her hair cut and also to take her a couple of wigs that she never did wear.
Her hair dresser goes to the Hospice and does the ladies hair and she was telling her that a lot of the ladies have thin hair and that they would really be tickled to have the wigs to wear.

So today is another day of taking Nancy out, this time it is to get her eyes checked.
She is going to an  alphomologist She is going because she is not seeing things clearly.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Good Breakfast

Starting this morning out right by eating a hardy breakfast   A couple of fried eggs with some cut up green pepper, onions, sliced tomato, country ham, biscuit and a cup of coffee.
This is my favorite breakfast, it may not be the best for me but it sure does taste good.

I bought the tomatoes at the roadside market as well as a few bananas.

Today  will be my College Basketball Games as each and every Saturday is.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Reservations

It is that time of year when full timers are making plans for their summer travels.
I've be reading several blogs where some have the whole summer planned out with reservations at different campgrounds for a certain amount of days.

In all of our time on the road since 2000 we have never made the travel reservation plans.
I do make reservations Labor Day Weekend for our Family Reunion and reservations in Florida for the winter months and that is about all of it.

We just "fly by the seat of our pants" if you will.
We start out North and go from there, the road could go East or West from the point but North is the general direction.
People asked us how can we travel that way that they have to make reservations in advance so they know they will have a place to stay when the get there.
Well if you don't know which way you are going how can you make a reservation?
I don't mean we don't make short plans we do that but as far as making months ahead of time no.
I have found out its more exciting that way.  Once we get to places we never know how long we will stay before we are on the road again.
As I read different blogs I may see some place a couple are visiting and say to myself that looks interesting why don't we check that out.

What do you do if you stop to stay in a campground and they are full?  I'm glad you asked that!
You know you have wheels on your house and they are made to travel, we look for an overnight place long before it gets dark so we will have time to find a place for the night.
There's always a Walmart, a restaurant parking lot or a number of places to spend the night.

What about you do you worry about reservation?

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Spine Center

I took the laundry down to the laundry room and did all the clothes yesterday because Nancy is still not feeling very good.
I know what she is going trough because I had the same virus and it does take a few weeks to get over it.

Yesterday I went to four different stores to get some things that we needed.  I usually start at the store at the far end and work my way back home.

Our nice sunny days are gone for a few days.  Instead we have rain which started early this morning and is suppose to last until the middle of the day tomorrow.

Nancy has an appointment with the   Spine Center today to get her back electrode implant adjusted.
She has to do this each year in order to get the electric paddles produce the shock to the places to ease her pain. This does not eliminate the pain but it does ease it some what.

Doctors for the weekend

It was an unusual weekend for us.  Nancy woke up Saturday morning with her face and lips swollen up for the third time in nine months.  The other two time we were on the road traveling and she went to the Med-Express places where they gave her medicine for allergies.  In these two visits they just said she had reactions to something but had no idea what it could be.
When she went to the Gulf Coast Medical Center this time the doctor looked at her and asked her if she takes Lisinopril which she does for her high blood pressure.  He told her that could be what the reaction was from and for her to stop taking it.
He then gave her three different shots and some prescription medicine and told her to come back the next day which was yesterday.
So it was back to the doctor yesterday morning.  The doctors rotate on the weekends and she saw a different doctor who told her the same as the first doctor did.
The two doctors were of a younger age that the others that she saw and maybe are one up on the things that they have studied in Med School.
Anyway the swelling has gone done quite a bit and she is feeling better.

Even though with the trip to the doctor I still got to see my College Basketball Games.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Strawberry Cake

Yesterday I just had to get out of the house.  I've been inside way to long the only time I've been outside was to take the trash to the dumpster.

First place was to the roadside market for some tomatoes at .69 a pound where as the stores want $1.49 a pound.  I also bought banana's at .27 a pound, the store price is around .59 a pound.
The price on strawberries is about the same everywhere because the Plant City Strawberry crop has just come in and everyone has them on sale.

I have been wanting ham salad for sometime so I stopped at the Publix to buy me some. Their ham salad is not great but taste better than any other that we have bought.

My next stop was Winn Dixie to get a package of smoked pork chops that Nancy has been wanting.
Nancy fixed the pork chops along with green beans, slaw and fried potatoes for a very good supper.
For dessert we had some more of the Strawberry Cake with coffee that put the finishing touches on the meal.

Today is my regular Saturday watching the College Basketball Games on the tv as I do each Saturday.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Sunny and Cool

The days are still being cloudy then sunshine and the wind is still blowing.
Yesterday was the new week ad for Winn Dixie and Nancy saw they had a Strawberry Short Cake on sale for $6.00.  She said she would sure like to have one and so would I so I bought one.
Evening time didn't come any to soon we cut right into it and the cake tasted as we thought it would.

on the way back from the store I drove out a couple of streets toward the Gulf waters.
These people have a very nice backyard with the canal for their boats that they can take out to the Gulf.

The wind had diminished enough for me to let the patio awning out this morning.  I just hope it last long enough that I will not have to roll it back in soon.

The temperature is suppose to get down in the high 40's tonight.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Valentine Day

Yesterday started out as an all cloudy day, then in the middle of the day for a couple of hours it was a cloudless all blue skies day.  then back to the cloudy day.

I took time to take part of the laundry down to the park laundry room.  It doesn't seem hard to do the laundry because our site is close enough the I can carry our laundry down in a matter of a few minutes. I put the clothes in the washer come back home and when the washer has had time to waher the clothes I go back to put them in the dryer. The dryer takes about 45 minutes to finish so it back home until the clothes have finished drying.

Today is Valentine Day and I have bought Nancy candy in a valentine box since before we were married.  The other day she told me she would rather have a pizza today instead of candy so I shall grant her wish.

We still had some Pinto Beans leftover so Nancy fried cabbage to go with the beans.  The Pinto's seem to taste better the longer you eat them and they tasted mighty good yesterday.

Going to bed last night it felt a little warm so I opened the window which is located over the head of our bed.  Sometime during the night it had cooled down enough that it felt cool so I closed the window.

The temperature is going to get up to 77* today so it will be a nice day.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Weekend

The College Basketball Games that I was wanting to see Saturday came on earlier in the day so that gave me a chance to get out and do a few things.

I pulled out the patio awning that had been stored in the up position for all most a week because of the constant wind.  I also set up the small table, chairs and rugs. I did find the one rug that I thought had blown away, it was under the car.

I told Nancy that I would like to have some Pinto Beans and Corn Bread so that was a trip to the store for Butter Milk. That with some slaw made for some good eating.

I'm about  95% better and doing good but Nancy still has that deep cough so she still has some to go before she starts feeling better.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Flea Market

Yesterday was the first time in a week that I felt good enough to want to get out of the house and move around.  So I went down to the USA Flea Market see what they had.  One thing I bought was some Ball Bungee Cords.  The ones that I have are old and the elastic is stretched that they are no good.
It sure was good to get out in the sunshine and enjoy the day.

While I was out Nancy wanted me to go to Walmart and buy her some cough syrup and Vick's Vapor Rub.  She says she is feeling better but she still has that deep cough.

Today I will be back inside because it is College Basketball Game Day.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

No Snow Here.

We had a cool down from yesterday morning, in fact it is 46* this morning that is 20* cooler than yesterday.  So no snow here but plenty cold for us.

It seems that no matter the temperature the wind just keeps blowing all the time.
The other night when I let in the patio awning I folded up our chairs and put them under the motorhome but I left the two small rugs out.  So in the morning when I went outside I came up with just one rug the other one was no where in site.

The Fantastic Fan I install last year has really be nice and we have been using in every day.  Even when the temperature gets up close to 80* we can turn on the fan open a window and get a cool breeze flowing through.
It is 12 volt so we appreciate it more when we are parked in a place when we do not have electric.

I think I'm finally beginning to feel better than I have in a week.  But now Nancy is coming down with what ever I had.  That was kind of expected though.  When you live in such a small space you can bet that the germs get passed around from one person to the other it has happened before and sure to happen again.

I think I may  got down to the USA Flea Market today to see if they have anything I can't do without.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Tom Brady's Jersey

I went to see the doctor Monday, it looks like I have the bug that's going around.
I've got it with a sinus problem, sore throat and coughing.
So I'm on a 6 day Z-Pac plus three other medicines.  To tell the truth its only helping very little and hopefully the meds will kick in and do better.
I've lost my appetite and the result of that I've lost a little weight.

Well the Super Bowl is over but now the news is about Tom Brady's lost jersey.  I imagine someone is planning on making big money on that.   Of course that would be a hard item to get rid of unless they offer a reward for the return of it with no questions asked.

The forecast for our area was for the storms that hit in Louisiana were going to be heading for us.
I went out last night at 10:00 pm to let the patio awning in and lightning in the distance.
Not a good time to have a metal rod in your hand letting the awning in!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Winners and Losers

That's what happened in the Super Bowl yesterday evening.  It looked like the Falcons were going to win it in a runaway but that was not to be with the Patriots coming from behind to take the game.
It did make for a good game.

Earlier in the day I once again went to Winn Dixie to get a few things and see what bargains they had.
I got two Red Baron Pizza's with that came a box of Mozzarella Cheese Sticks, a box of Garlic Bread and a box of box of Tyson Chicken Wyngz all for the price of $9.98.  Is that a bargain or not?

I'm still having a rough time with a deep dry cough I thought I could fight it out my self but it looks like it will be a doctors visit after four days I'm giving up.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Super Bowl

The College Basketball day was a mess yesterday considering that six of the top ten had loss their games.  It looks like the teams that was losing games earlier in the season are improving so it is shaping up to be a great tournament this year.

Billions of Chickens wings are going to be eating during the Super Bowl.
I wonder if anyone has counted the amount eaten on a normal day?

I like the spicy wings myself even though I like the others also.  Nancy and I had already planned on have us more of the chicken tenders  with the free biscuits from Winn Dixie they are good the biscuit have that good homemade taste.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

College Game Day

I've had some kind of bug the last few days with a lot of deep coughing and my body is sore with that rotten feeling, but I'm still doing the things that needs to be taken care of.

Nancy made some delicious spaghetti Thursday we also had a salad with that. So good that we once again had more than we should have.
I mentioned in the last posting about the good deals that Winn Dixie was having.  One deal was if you buy one pound of Chicken Tenders you got four biscuits free from the bakery.  So I bought six Chicken Tenders with four free biscuits for  $3.44, now that's a deal plus a bag of slaw mix for .99.
Nancy boiled some potatoes mashed those for some good mashed potatoes for a very good meal.
Yesterday days meal was left over spaghetti and a salad.

We did get around to doing the laundry yesterday which was a chore with everyone else in the laundry room.

I have a full schedule of College basketball games today.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

New Directv Receiver

Thursday
Another day of going to the Winn Dixie get a few things.  I was surprised to see so many items on sale at half price and buy one get one free which is also half price.
While I was out I also went to Wendy's to buy our supper.  Nancy saw the Chicken Asiago Sandwich on the tv the night before and saying how good it looked.
So I told her I would get her one, I took the 4 for $4.00 we both said our food tasted good.

Our doctor is with the Gulf Coast Medical Center  have a new Patient Portal online where you can check to see the results of the visits, request for refills of your medications.
So I tried the medicine refills since we were do refills and our prescriptions had ran out.  Yesterday we got a call from Walgreens that they were having an issue with our insurance.
I went down to see if I could help get it straightened out, but by the time I got there everything was ok.

There it is the new Directv D12-100 Receiver. Was I a Happy Camper when I saw the FEDX truck pull up in front of the motorhome and the driver getting out with a package.
This receiver is different than the one I had so I read a few instructions and plugged it in.
I unwrapped the new remote (the one on the right side) and I could see it would take a little time on the learning curve to use this one but in a matter of minutes all was going nice and smooth.
Last night I was finally watching basketball on the satellite instead of online with the ROKU.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

No plan day

Yesterday morning the temperature was 48* when we woke up, but it kept going up all day to finally reach 74*.  It was the first time in four days that I didn't have to wear a light jacket outside.

It was also time to go to the store yesterday and Nancy had not been out in a few days so I asked her if she wanted to go.  She said she would think about it after she had breakfast and did her computer things. She let me know in about an hour that she really didn't feel like getting out so off I went to Walmart even though I don't like to go to Walmart they have some things that Nancy gets there that the other stores do not stock.

After getting back home putting the groceries away it was time to empty the black tank.
Just like everyone else my tank gauges don't work so we have to watch for when the tank starts to burp then you know its time to empty.

It sure did feel good to walk in the park yesterday without a jacket on and the sun feeling nice and warm.
Even though it was warm it still wasn't warm enough for anyone to be in swimming.
Maybe later on in the last part of this week when the temperature is going to be close to 80*.

Today is another day with no plans just a day to let it play out.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
