Hanging in there

Nancy has scheduled the last of February to have the wires, electrodes and the battery pack to be put in her back. All of this will go under the skin. We just hope it will ease most of her pain.
Today is another Saturday already and I have a full day of college basketball to watch. First thing though I've got a couple of things to do. Then I will park myself out in my man cave.  Its actually the Florida room but I call it the man cave.
I try not to get out in the stores on the weekend. I like to leave it for the working people who only have the weekend to get out and do their shopping. I've got the rest of the week to do my thing. There are a couple of sales today only and I'm going to check them out. Most of the time I look at these sales 9 times out of 10 I don't buy anything.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Same O

Nancy is still going from one place to another.  Yesterday it was going in to have her blood drawn so the kidney doctor can look to see how her kidneys are doing.
She had to be fasting for her blood work, so on the way home we had breakfast at Susies. This is a small restaurant that has a lot of locals eating here. The food is good with fast service and a nice price.
Today Nancy will be going to the Spine Clinic to have the wires removed from her back.
The weather here is like what everyone on the east coast is having. I guess it is not as cold here in Florida but for the people that are in Florida it is still cold for us.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Spine Clinic

We had to get up real early this morning because they called yesterday to tell Nancy she would have to be at the Spine Clinic at 7:00 am.  She had the temporary electrodes put in her back to see if the shock would ease her pain.  It was hard for the doctor to get the electrodes where he wanted them, because not only is her spine curved but it also is twisted.  The lady setting up the remote had a hard time and you should have seen Nancy jump when the electric went up to high.  Nancy will have to wear it for four days to see if it is going to help her. If it does he will pull those wires out of her back and put in some permanent wires.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Weather

The thing going on around here is the weather.  A day or two of warmth at close to 80 and then it changes to rain and in the 50's and 60's. Changing between short pants and short sleeves to long pants and a jacket. That's enough to get an old fella down. I'll tell you though that soup sure tastes good on those cool days.
Talk about food. This is what Nancy had for me yesterday.  Polish sausage, potatoes, onions and peppers. Some of you may say that's not a very healthy way to eat but it sure did taste good. I have been eating like this all my life.
Nancy has an appointment with the spine doctor Friday. He is going to rig her up somehow to help relieve her pain.
Well got to go and hang up my short pants and get the long pants out for today.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

A day out

Friday it took Nancy a couple of hours before she was through with the MRI, ultra sound and x ray.
Since she couldn't have anything to eat before hand we stopped and had a late breakfast at Bob Evans. From the it was over to the mall for an audio cable that I needed.
Then I told Nancy while I was out I wanted to go down to the Green Key Park to see the new boardwalk.

The boardwalk was open so we took a walk on it.  The new boardwalk is elevated five to six feet from what the old one was.
This make for a nice view over top of the trees as you walk out to the gulf.
Once out to the gulf it is a good view. Here is a photo of the small island with the houses on stilts around it.
Here is a shot with a couple of the houses using the zoom lens on my video camera.
The walk is a short distance but Nancy had to stop several times to rest.
After getting back home it was rest time for her from her day out.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Rain

It rained on and off all day yesterday.  One good thing though was that the temp was around 76.
I had to get out to do a few things and I got a little wet jumping in and out of the car.
I took time to run out to Green Key Park to see if the new boardwalk was finished. It wasn't but one of the men told me it would be ready today, That makes it nice you can take the boardwalk go out to the edge of the water walk up some stairs to the tower and have a nice view of the gulf.
While talking to the guy from the park service he noticed a large bees nest, not a good thing to have around with a lot of people visiting the park. He said he would have to call someone to remove it.
Nancy has to go in at 12:00 to get an MRI and also a ultra sound to check on her spine and kidneys.
There is a chance of rain and the temps are going to be close to 80.  Ah my kind of Florida once again.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Warming up

Yeah, after waking up to temps in the 38 degree range it was good to see 57 this morning. I know it is colder where you are but this is Florida and its not suppose to be cold. I took my flowers inside for a couple of nights. I didn't want to take a chance of them maybe freezing. It is going to be back to 80 degree by the weekend.
Nancy made some good vegetable soup that really hit the spot after I had been out in the cold doing several chores.
I'm spending some time on the computer still learning the new system. I downloaded windows 8.1 that has the new explorer 11 browser. Also put new ram memory in that has doubled the size it had. So in essence I have a new computer.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

It Crashed

My computer that is. I got a terrible virus in an email. The lady geek here on the park tried to get it off but each time the computer would crash so she had to wipe it clean. Needless to say all my email contact are gone with everything else from 6-7 years on the computer. I know you don't have to tell me. I should have had a back-up. The good news is she installed Windows 8. The bad news I'm having a time learning the new system.
Nancy is still about the same. With her spine problems and the kidney problems its about more than she can handle.
She will be seeing the spine doctor and the kidney doctor within the next few weeks.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all of my blog readers. You don't know how much I appreciate you. 2013 was my best year of having visitors to the blog. So you have made it worth adding from time to tie of the things we are doing.
Yesterday was Nancy and my 57th anniversary. We are two married people who are happy being together. We went out to have a nice dinner and then came home to make cabbage rolls for the New Year Day. We have had cabbage rolls each New Year since we have been married.
Today I will be watching the college bowl games as I eat the cabbage rolls and no doubt dozing on and off. May your day and year be the best of everything.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
