Happy Easter

I wish each and everyone of you a very Happy Easter and many memories of the day. Nancy and I were talking this morning and as we often do it was about our children and grandchildren when they were small. About how they would dress up in their Easter outfits and go to church. Then aferwards we would have our own Easter egg hunt. The little one would run to the eggs and soon they would have an arm full of eggs. We would have to tell them to put the eggs in the basket. For some reason they just didn't want to let go of the eggs?
Did the basketball games go your way yesterday?  Or maybe the team you are wanting to win is playing today. You know I will be watching the games today. I really need to get out more because I keep gaining weight and with Nancy making the beff stew yesterday doesn't help a bit.
I did get down to the dumpster with the garbage and to check out the mall.
This is the entrance to our park mall. Anything that you can't use anymore and is still good you take it to the mall for someone to pick up if they need it.
On this side is a couple of lamps,a cabinet door and a blind.
Need a coffee cup,get one here. Also a couple of covered tin boxes. There is an old heavy tv set, these usually get thrown away as everyone nowadays want the flat sceen tv's. Can't beat the price of free for the taking.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day.

Basketball

Nancy is doingabout the same and is taking it easy healing back up after her cath. I'm doing what a bunch of people are doing and that is watching the NCAA Tournament.  I've seen some of the teams I have been pulling for win and most of them losing.  I don't know about you,but I get tired of seeing the same teams win year after year. I would like to see every so often that a team would come in and win that wasn;t suppose to. Like the team from Florida Gulf Coast University did. They had a good run in the tournament.
I took a photo of this cactus just on the outside of the park that as a couple of blooms on it. There are quite a few growing in the park also.
Nancy prepared up a beef stew and it has been in the crock pot all night so I will be eating beef stew while I watch basketball today.
Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a great day.

Thats over with

Well yesterday was a very long day with Nancy at the hospital getting the cardiac cath.  We were there at 10:40am and shortly they took her in to start preparing her for the cath. They had an iv going into one arm and a few minutes later they said the cardiologist called and said to put another iv in the other arm. So there she was getting fluids in both arms for next couple of hours. The cardiologist would start the cath at 2:30pm.  So I waited in the visitor room and at 3:00pm the cardiologist came in and said he looked at the heart arteries and the renal artery and everything looked nice and clear. So that eliminated all the bad things that could have been the problem. So we don't know what the next thing they will try. Anyway Nancy is sore and tired from the ordeal and will have to spend the next few days resting and healing up.
Thanks for all your kind words and prayers.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Cardiac Cath

Well today is the big day for Nancy to go to Bayonet Point Hospital to have her cardiac cath. She was scheduled at 2:00pm. They called yesterday and told her to be there at 11:00am. Needless to say she is nervous about the procedure. They will be checking the arteries going to the heart and also checking the renal artery going to the kidney. If she is needing a stent anywhere they will go ahead and do it while they are in there.
We have not been doing anything, just hanging around the house and that is why I haven't been posting. So we shall see what the day holds.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day.

The same

It looks as though Nancy is finally going to have something done. Tomorrow is the day for her pre-op at Bayonet Point Hospital and then if everthing checks out ok the cardiologist will do the cardiac cath on tuesday.
This is the time of year that I get real excited about preparing to to go on the road with the motorhome, but this has been a different season for us in that with seeing all the doctors we have no plans at this time. Sometimes life just takes a bite at you and you have to go with the flow.
I'm just the restless type and this hanging around the house is not any fun,but we do have to take care of ourselves.
My blog post are far between days because I see no need in boring you anymore than I have to even though the family likes to keep up with us.
Thanks for checking in and I do wish you a great day.

St, Patrick's Day

Yes its that day when people are wearing green and everyone is Irish today.
So may as well give you an old Irish saying:
"May the raindrops fall lightly on your brow. May the soft winds freshen your spirit. May the sunshine brighten your heart. May the burdens of the day rest lightly upon you, and may God enfold you in the mantle of His love."
Thursday Nancy was back at the cardiologist. He has once again set up her pre op and cardiac cath.
Friday I was at the doctor to see what the MRI had shown. The fluid sac had a cyst under it but instead of setting up to operate on it he drained it. That makes three times its been drained and I don't think this time is going to be any different.
And of course each day I've been watching college basketball games.

So now today we will see who is playing in the NCAA Tournament.
The home grown tomatoes that we have been enjoying for the last few weeks look like they might be coming to an end.
The lake behind the house is all up in weeds and trees. This could be a nice small fishing lake if it was cleaned up and all the weeds and trees were cut.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy your day.

Spring Break

I remember one spring break when we were up in the Florida panhandle. We were in Panama City and didn't think anything about the spring break,we decided to go to the beach. We didn't even get close to the beach, when we got close the kids were skate boarding in the streets and were packed in like sardines. I think all the Florida beaches are this way during spring break. Of course this season is unusual for us in that for health reasons we are of the stay at home types. But never fear our day is coming when will will be back at it. Speaking of which,Nancy's appointment with the cardiologist is tomorrow. We sure hope he has some encouraging news to tell us.
Thanks for stopping by and have yourself a great day.

Monday

I hope you remembered to set your clocks forward yesterday and that any appointment you had were met on time. If you didn't you were an hour late.
I really think they should leave the time set a one point and not move it around. We got along just fine before someone thought day light savings time would be better for us.
When you're retired the most of the appointments are with the doctor. Which Nancy and I have later on in the week.
The weather here was so nice yesterday. The sun was shining and there was a nice warm breeze. I hope you enjoyed your day wherever you are. Often times we just have to try and enjoy the days by staying inside, when we are not able to be outside.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Same Things

Well folks things are still going slow on the old home stead.
I took Nancy to have more blood drawn yesterday so the doctor can get a report and let her know what is going on when she goes to see him on thursday. Nancy has felt a little better the last few days which is good news.
We even went for a short walk through the Port Richey River Front Park.
After that we had to go to Walmart for a few things.  From there it was to WaWa to get us a cup of the free Carmel Steamer drink. We ordered a couple of the 6 inch subs that they make which we brought back to the house to eat.
Today I will be watching college basketball games which is about to wrap up and then all the tournements will start.  So that is going to keep me busy.
I think I'm begining to get a hold on this retirement life. Well being at it for 13 years I should be. Man those years have gone by too fast.

Hey,I do thank you for stopping by and have a great day.

Wednesday

I went up to Hudson yesterday to get my MRI and when I was checkinging in they informed me that they were running a little behind schedule. Of course that wasn't news to me,I've very seldom been to a docotrs office when they have been on schedule. I remember one time at the doctors office when four of us people were waiting and all four of us were to see the doctor at the same time.
On the way back to the house at stopped in at the new WAWA gas station to get Nancy and me a cup of their Carmel Steamer coffee. It is still free until sunday(my kind of place). They had the grand opening a week ago and are still very busy.
They have put out new benches on each end of the horseshoe pits. Its been so cool the last few days the horseshoe pitching is like the pool exercise,no one is attending.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Wait and mice

We woke up to a cold 39 degrees yesterday morning. But that was ok because I didn't have to get out until afternoon when it was my appointment time for the MRI on my knee. Only thing is the MRI didn't happen, they called to tell me their machine broke down and I could go to the Brooksville office to have the MRI or I could wait and have it today. I chose to have it today and save myself a couple of gallons of gas. One more day will not matter that much.
By afternoon time it had warmed up so I went over to the motorhome to do a little getting things straighten out. Some time during this winter season the mice have gotten in back of the frig and have pulled down some insulation and chewed on a few of the wires. I cleaned out the most of the insulation but I still have some small pieces to clean up. I think the mice are gone but I put out some D-Con just in case. This is the first time I have had mice in the motorhome during the winter months.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Good Burgers

Yesterday started out good even though it was cold again.  A little before noon I fired up the grill and put on a few burgers to grill so I could eat them later. Then at noon I began to watch my college basketball games. I can see maybe losing 1 or 2 of the games I was watching but when you lose all 4 of the games. Well should I say eating the burgers was the best part of the day for me. I watched 2 of the games to see if the teams would win and 2 of the games hoping to see them lose. I always want to see the underdog win.
Waking up this morning we had a temperature of 44.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

WaWa

I went to the doctor wednesday to have my knee checked. After he looked at it he said I need to have an MRI so he could tell what was going on with it. I will have that on monday and on the 14th the doctor then tell me what he will do after he has the results of the MRI.
Wednesday evening my friend Sam and I went over to the new WaWa gas station that had their grand opening. They were giving out different food samples of the foods that they are selling. We sampled all the different coffee that they sell. I thought the carmel steamer was the best, even though it tasted more like hot chocolate than coffee. I brought a cup full back for Nancy and she enjoyed it also. These are new stations opening in Florida and are going to have 100 of them opening in the near future. They got the name from the canadian goose.
Sam and Carolyn started out this morning on the way back home to West Virginia. We enjoyed what little time we had with them and we are sorry we couldn't get out and do anything due to Nancys health.
Today and maybe for the next week it looks like it may be long pants days. We are going to have some cool weather. Some of the nights will be in the 40's.
