Work?

Things are going slow around here. We've not been out to walk in a few days.
I was having problems with the 20amp breaker in the box outside. This breaker goes to the water heater so you can see how that would be a problem.
I thought I had repaired it in that the contacts were not making contact. I squeezed the contacts in but after a day the same thing happened. They have just been to hot and wouldn't hold back in. So yesterday I went to Home Depot for a new breaked and put it in.
Monday we went to Walmart to get our medicines to refill. As usual they for some reason can't get it ready until the next day. In all of our travels we can get the refills in 20 or 30 minutes. But here it always takes longer. I have no idea why?
I'm still enjoying watching the college bastball games in the evening.

Weekend

Well, lets see what we did this long weekend.
Friday-We did go out to Walmart to get a few things even though it was "Black Friday".  By the time we got there the bargin hunters we gone. The store just had the normal crowd. You know, not very many people until you get to the check out.  I never could understand how when you are going in the store there is no one checking out but by the time you are ready to check out it seems like everyone else is there at the same time.
Saturday-Was a typical saturday of watching college ballgames.
Sunday-Was church day.  After chuch we went to Caposey's for dinner. Caposey's is a small family restaurant that is very friendly with good food a fast service. Most of the customers are regulars.
After dinner we came home and relaxed the rest of the day.

Black Friday

Yesterday we had a very nice day. Took our time getting ready as usual. I went to Sweetbay and bought a paper to see all the sale ads all the stores were having today.  There were a few that looked good but I really don't feel like standing in line and shopping at midnight.
Around 3:00 we went to Barnhills for dinner. It was crowded but not to the point that we couldn't move around easy. There was plenty of turkey, ham and all the sides that you could want.  All the food was very good.  We came back home for a little tv and computer time, just relaxing the evening away.
Did you get out early enough today or last night to buy that perfect thing that you wanted?   We may just stay in today and avoid the crowds, who knows?

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope each and everyone of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, with your family or with whomever you are with this day. As you get older you always think back at the times you've had with family and its never the same. Times and things change. The children have their own family now and have moved someplace else. So we have to adjust to the change.
Yesterday we were in a few furniture store looking at the chair that may be suitable for the motorhome. We saw a couple and may check them out again to see if the have a "Black Friday"sale going on.  We will not be getting up early to look though,I tried that a few years ago,but not anymore.
We will go out for our dinner today.

Hot Day

Sunday was a church day. The pastor didn't preach they had a service chaplin as a guest speaker. He had a very good message. After church we came straight home where I enjoyed a college basketball game or two.
Yesterday we went to the James Gray Preserve to do our walking. It was a beautiful day,but it sure was hot. Almost too hot for us to walk.
We're always looking for wild animals but all we saw were these three turtles on a log out in the river. They have posted of the wild life such as deer, wild boar.  We haven't seen any of these here.

We like to walk here it is shaded with trees and part of the walk is a boardwalk. Half of the trail is by the river then from the river you go around a lagoon. A good trail were your can get 4 miles of walking wasy.

Hanging Around

Yeah ,we did go to Sams friday. We sampled a few things, but it was so crowded that we left. From there we ended up at the Port Richey River Front Park where we did some walking.  After the walking we went to Golden Corral to eat. Nancy said it was ok but I didn't think to much of it.  The last few times I've been to Golden Corral the food hasn't been as good as it used to be.
After eating we went to the mall to do a little more walking. From there it was To Walmart to get a few things. Then it was time to come home a rest the evening away.
Of course saturday was a day of watching college ballgames.

Living

Yesterday it was just walking here in the park. The main thing though is that we walked.  Sometimes at our age it does take an extra effort to get out and walk.  Thank you people who visit my blog and leave a comment. It gets hard at times to keep writing, especially when you are not a writer. I admire the people that have blogs and the words come so easy for them. But that me,just a plain old Joe. It is easy when we are on the road going from place to place and have the photos.
Today we will go to Sams Club to see whats going on. I got an email from them that this weekend they will have the holiday tastings. So I hope Nancy will enjoy her lunch at Sams.

Finally-Walking

Yes,we did it yesterday. We went down to the John Chesnut Park and did some walking, boy are we out of shape.
The first thing we saw was this small gator. It looked like about 4 feet long.
Then it was this heron. It was a nice day with the breeze coming off of the lake.
Then we saw this doe with her fawn. We never get tired of looking at deer. The fawn was always behind the mother or a tree. They learn so quick.
Then this bird drying its wings.

College Basketball

I like college basketball as much as anyone else, but when it comes on at midnight and runs for 24 hours straight, that is to many games to watch.
I'll admit I did watch a few games. With one starting at 10:00 am.
Did a few things around the house and made a short trip to Sweetbay for a couple of things.

Flea Market Day

Friday was a day at the flea market. Nancy and I each got one item. Then we took a one time stroll around the flea market. On the way home we stopped at the Hibachi Buffet for a $4.99 buffet lunch. Nancy said it was ok and I didn't think much of it either. Maybe we were just to tired to enjoy it.
Saturday I washed the car, then cut a few more weeds until I saw one too many yellow jackets flying around. I then came inside and watched a few college basketball games. Yes it is that time of year.
Today we were just to lazy for anything. I did manage to grill a couple of pork chops, which tasted good.

Thank you Veterans

First and formost I would like to thank all of the veterans that make this country what it is today.

Thursday and yesterday was cutting and pulling up weeds, which is no fun.  Nancy and I both got our much needed haircuts. Now we look like part of the human race again. Not a lot of exciting things are happening at the moment. Like everyone else at the time just normal living.

Thank You

I've had several of you that have said you have Amanda and 8 year old Abby in your prayers. I thank you and the prayers are being answered. Amanda who was partially ejected from the auto, was released from the hospital yesterday.
Abby who had more broken bones then I wrote in the blog. Also had broken collar bone and a punctured lung, also a long scare on her face which they stitched up late saturday evening. Then yesterday they set her arm and leg. They also let her wake up to see if she was alert and could tell them if she hurt anwhere that they may have missed. She did fine talking with the doctors. They may take the breathing tube out today.
Thank the Lord and thank you for thoughts and prayers.

Not a Good Day

Yesterday we went to Jeremy and Allison's for a cook-out and to have a good day. We had the cook-out,the hot dogs were really good with the chili that Allison made. The burgers were good eating also. Everything would have been perfect. But in the middle of it our daughter Sherry called to inform us that her daughter(our granddaughter)had been in an car accident with her 8 year old daughter. So Sherry was on her way to the Morgantown hospital. It was a 3 hour drive. Amanda is doing ok but the little one is in very bad shape. She has broken arm in 3-4 places, broken leg, several broken ribs and a fractured skull. So the evening and thru the night with Sherry keeping us updated we diddn't have a very good day.

WOW

After getting up yesterday at the Cracker Barrel we had breakfast, got ready.  By that time it was afternoon,so over to Sams Club to get a few things. Did we time it right. In Sams they were having the people that have the little stands with the food samples. This is the first time we have seen this many. We sampled so many things that we didn't need to have lunch. After we were through shopping and eating it was time to go over to Walmart which is next door. We did the Walmart shopping plus walking a bit.  Then it was back over to Sams Club to park for the evening and overnight. This is where it gets good. Free food, free spot for the night and also I could get on the Sams Club wifi where I was parked. Can't beat that, thanks Sams Club.  There where several others that did the overnight here also.
Today we will go over to be with Jeremy,Allison and the great grandkids.

Valdosta,Georgia

No,thats not snow! Thats a field of cotton.  We left Nicks after we had lunch then got on I-75 for a slow trip down to Valdosta.  We passed by several large fields of cotton. There seems to be more cotton field then there use to be. Maybe the price of cotton has gone up and they can make a good profit.
I pulled in to the Cracker Barrel, then went inside to ask the manager if they allowed overnight parking. He was a very friendly guy and told me it would not be a problem. I even had a free wifi connection from some place around. There was also a 5th wheel and another motorhome that stayed the night. It was 68° when we went to bed at 11:00pm last night. We had the window at our bed opened. In the middle of the night it started to rain hard so I shut the window because it was coming in on my head. As soon as it quit raining I opened the window back up. After another hour or so I woke up again because my head was getting cold,so I shut the window again.  This morning we we got up at 7:00am the temp was 48°.  We will be here in Valdosta visiting Jeremy,Allison and the great grandkids Andy and Hannah for a few days.

A Day Out

Yesterday was a day of running around with Nick. We went from store to store looking for bargins.  I did buy a few small things at the hardware store that has great bargins on items that are old or out dated.
Here are a few photo of the trip here.
I use to have one of these VW vans and still like them.
Nice tree lined street in Monticello,Ga
Always traffic on I-75.
