Sunset Beach,North Carolina

Yesterday we left the Walmart parking lot after a good nights rest.

I got off the interstate road and drove on route 378 across South Carolina. Passing old houses that are no longer good enough to live in but I'm sure a day not long ago was someone's pride and joy. Passing corn fields along the way, these are the small things I like to see on the back roads.
Here is something that might come along on the narrow roads that will slow you down when traffic is coming in the opposite direction. This gentlemen was on this small motr bike going around 30 mph. He was getting over as far as he could, but the road was to narrow to go around him when the traffic was coming.

We arrived in Sunset Beach around 2:30 pm at the Wishing Well Campground. It is a very nice and has 15 sites. The campground is located 4.5 miles from the beach side. This is the beachside street, only houses here. No motels or restaurants, just houses. It is nice to see that some of the beaches have not developed into the concrete jungles like Myrtle Beach and Daytona Beach have become. Sunset Beach is located 14 miles north of Myrtle Beach and 5 miles south of Ocean Isle.

Here is the beach at low tide. This is the only fishing pier along the 5 mile stretch of beach. We got here early enough to take a nice walk on the beach. It was so nice to look along the beach and see nothing but houses.
